The Corally 64 DP Pinion Short Hardened Steel 30 Teeth Shaft Dia. 3.17mm (C-71330) is a professional-grade pinion gear engineered for high-performance RC cars in the UK and worldwide. Whether you're setting up a competition-ready machine or upgrading your existing RC car UK setup, this hardened steel pinion delivers the precision and durability that serious RC enthusiasts demand. Manufactured by Team Corally, a recognised brand in the RC hobby, this gear is designed to handle demanding racing conditions whilst maintaining perfect concentricity and vibration-free operation at all speeds.
This 30-tooth pinion is part of Corally's comprehensive range of gearing solutions, allowing you to fine-tune your RC car's acceleration and top speed for any track condition. The 64 DP (Diametral Pitch) specification ensures compatibility with a wide range of RC vehicles equipped with 64DP gearing systems. If you're serious about RC racing or want to optimise your ready to run RC car's performance, selecting the correct pinion gear ratio is essential, and this Corally option provides the quality assurance you need.
Built to exacting European manufacturing standards, the C-71330 is marked with the tooth count for instant identification in your workshop or pit area, making gear changes quick and straightforward during races or practice sessions.
Key Features
- Special Hardened Steel Construction — The pinion is manufactured from hardened steel specifically chosen for its toughness and exceptional durability, meaning this gear will withstand the stresses of competitive RC racing without premature wear or breakage, saving you money on replacements over time.
- CNC Cut Teeth for Perfect Geometry — All teeth are machined on a special CNC gear machine with ultra-precise tooth shaping, ensuring every tooth engages perfectly with your spur gear and delivers vibration-free operation that translates to better handling and more predictable performance on the track.
- Unparalleled Concentricity — The manufacturing process guarantees precise tolerances and concentricity, meaning the gear runs perfectly true with virtually no runout, which is critical for smooth power delivery and minimal drivetrain noise.
- Ultra-True Running — Created on specialised gear machinery, this pinion features ultra-true running characteristics that eliminate vibration during acceleration and maintain consistent performance throughout your RC car's operation.
- 64 DP Compatibility — The 64 DP (Diametral Pitch) specification means this pinion fits all RC cars and motors designed around the 64DP gearing standard, making it a versatile choice for most modern competition and hobby-grade vehicles.
- 3.17mm Motor Shaft Fit — The pinion is specifically designed for 3.17mm (1/8-inch) motor shafts, which are standard on most modern brushless and brushed RC car motors available in the UK market.
- Quick Identification Markings — Each pinion is clearly marked with the tooth number (30T in this case), allowing you to instantly identify the gear ratio in your tool bag or workshop, eliminating confusion during setup and maintenance.
- European Manufacturing Excellence — Made in Europe to the highest standards, this gear represents the quality control and precision engineering that serious RC racers have come to expect from Team Corally products.
Technical Performance
The Corally C-71330 64 DP pinion delivers exceptional performance through advanced engineering and premium materials. With 30 teeth, this pinion offers a balanced gear ratio suitable for a wide variety of racing conditions and vehicle setups. The 3.17mm motor shaft diameter accommodates standard brushless and brushed motors commonly used in 1/10-scale competitive RC cars. The pinion's 4mm tooth width and 9mm overall gear length provide optimal contact with spur gears whilst maintaining compact installation within tight motor compartments. The special hardened steel composition ensures maximum durability under the high stresses of acceleration, cornering and sustained high-speed operation typical in competitive RC racing. CNC manufacturing with tolerances far tighter than standard production methods means you get a gear that spins with minimal runout and maximum efficiency. The 1.5mm hex key socket allows for simple yet secure installation and removal using standard RC workshop tools. Whether you're running this pinion in a brushless RC monster truck, electric RC buggy, or competition 1/10-scale touring car, the C-71330 delivers the consistency and reliability that separates winning setups from mediocre ones. The vibration-free operation contributes to better steering feel, more predictable acceleration characteristics, and reduced mechanical noise during racing.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 64 DP mean and is this compatible with my RC car? — 64 DP (Diametral Pitch) is a standard gear specification in RC racing that defines the size and tooth profile of gears. The C-71330 fits all RC cars and motors designed around the 64DP gearing standard, which includes most modern 1/10-scale competitive vehicles. If your car came from the factory with 64DP gears or is described as 64DP-compatible, this pinion will work perfectly. Always check your vehicle's specifications or user manual to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
- What motor shaft size does this pinion fit? — The C-71330 is designed specifically for 3.17mm motor shafts, which is the standard size used on most modern brushless and brushed RC car motors. This measurement refers to the diameter of the rotating shaft on your motor, and the pinion's 3.17mm bore ensures a secure, wobble-free fit without requiring adapter sleeves.
- How many teeth is this pinion, and what does that mean for performance? — This is a 30-tooth pinion, which affects your RC car's gear ratio. A higher tooth count on the pinion (like 30T) means lower overall gearing, which typically provides better acceleration but slightly lower top speed. Conversely, lower pinion tooth counts offer higher top speeds but slower acceleration. The choice depends on your track layout and driving style — smaller, technical tracks often benefit from higher-geared setups (higher tooth count) whilst large, open circuits might favour lower-geared setups.
- Is this suitable for beginners or only for competition racers? — Whilst the C-71330 is a high-quality component suitable for serious RC enthusiasts and competition drivers, beginners can absolutely benefit from upgrading to quality components like this pinion. The hardened steel construction and precision manufacturing mean longer lifespan and more consistent performance than standard pinions, making it a worthwhile upgrade for anyone running an RC car UK-based. However, beginners should ensure they understand the 64DP standard and 3.17mm shaft compatibility before purchasing.
- What is the difference between this and cheaper pinion gears? — The Corally C-71330 stands apart through several key differences: CNC-cut teeth for perfect geometry versus stamped or low-precision cut teeth; special hardened steel material versus softer steel or plastic; ultra-precise concentricity and runout control versus standard tolerances; and comprehensive quality control. These factors result in vibration-free operation, longer service life, more predictable performance, and better overall reliability. Cheaper pinions may initially save money but often require more frequent replacement and deliver less consistent performance characteristics.
- Do I need any special tools to install this pinion? — Installation requires only a 1.5mm hex key (Allen key), which is a standard tool found in most RC enthusiasts' tool kits. The pinion features a recessed hex socket for this key, allowing quick installation and removal without special equipment. Most RC car workshops will already have the necessary 1.5mm hex key on hand.
- What warranty or support does Corally offer with this pinion? — As an authorised RC Model Shop retailer, we stock genuine Team Corally products with manufacturer backing. For specific warranty information, we recommend contacting our team, as warranty terms may vary by region and retailer.
