Overview
The Corally Chassis 2WD Short Wheelbase Composite (C-00250-004) is a premium chassis platform designed for RC enthusiasts seeking a high-quality, versatile foundation for their RC car builds. This composite chassis represents the pinnacle of modern RC engineering, offering builders and racers in the UK a lightweight yet rigid platform that delivers exceptional handling characteristics and durability. Whether you're a seasoned RC competitor looking to upgrade your setup, a weekend basher seeking reliable performance, or an RC hobbyist exploring the world of custom builds, this 2WD short wheelbase chassis provides the perfect starting point for creating a responsive and agile RC vehicle.
Built to Team Corally's exacting standards, this chassis is engineered from composite materials that strike the ideal balance between strength and weight savings. The short wheelbase configuration makes this chassis particularly suitable for tight, technical courses and indoor racing environments where agility and quick steering response are paramount. RC car enthusiasts across the UK appreciate Corally's commitment to quality and precision engineering, and this chassis exemplifies that dedication. The composite construction provides excellent durability for repeated use whilst maintaining the lightweight characteristics essential for competitive performance and lively handling characteristics that make RC driving genuinely enjoyable.
This is a chassis-only component, perfect for builders who want complete control over their RC car setup. Rather than purchasing a complete ready-to-run RC car, you can select this chassis and pair it with your choice of motor, ESC, servo, battery and body to create a truly custom RC vehicle tailored to your specific needs and driving style. For those building their first RC car or upgrading an existing setup, this composite chassis provides the solid foundation that quality RC performance is built upon.
Key Features
- Composite Construction — The chassis is manufactured from high-quality composite materials that deliver the optimal balance between rigidity and weight, ensuring responsive handling whilst maintaining structural integrity through repeated use and impacts typical of RC car operations.

Technical Performance
The Corally Chassis 2WD Short Wheelbase Composite represents serious engineering designed to deliver exceptional performance characteristics. The composite material selection provides excellent stiffness and rigidity whilst keeping overall weight to a minimum, a critical factor in RC vehicle performance and handling dynamics. The short wheelbase configuration is particularly suited to technical racing environments, delivering the quick steering response and cornering agility that dedicated RC racers and enthusiasts require. This chassis is compatible with a wide range of motor sizes and ESC ratings, allowing builders to customise power delivery to suit their driving style and intended use. Whether you plan to run this chassis with a brushless motor system and 2S or 3S LiPo battery for casual weekend bashing, or configure it with performance components for serious competitive racing, the chassis engineering accommodates diverse setups. The comprehensive spare parts ecosystem means that if components experience wear through heavy use, replacement parts are readily available and designed for perfect fitment. Suspension system compatibility includes mounting points for shock absorbers front and rear, with Corally offering purpose-designed shock absorber units available separately. The steering system utilises quality components including steering blocks, camber links and suspension arms that work together to provide responsive, predictable steering input. Builders should note that this is a chassis component only and will require the addition of a motor, ESC, servo, battery, receiver and body to create a complete, functioning RC vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this chassis suitable for beginners to RC car building? — Yes, absolutely. The Corally Chassis 2WD Short Wheelbase is an excellent choice for beginners embarking on their first RC car build. The straightforward 2WD architecture is simpler than 4WD systems, making it easier to understand suspension geometry and vehicle dynamics. The extensive spare parts availability means that if you make mistakes during assembly or experience component failures whilst learning, replacements are readily available. Many UK RC clubs recommend 2WD platforms for newcomers because they deliver intuitive, predictable handling that helps drivers develop fundamental RC car control skills.
- What makes a short wheelbase chassis different from a long wheelbase design? — Short wheelbase chassis feature a more compact distance between the front and rear axles, which significantly improves steering response and cornering agility. This makes short wheelbase chassis particularly popular for technical racing courses with tight turns and indoor tracks. Long wheelbase designs offer more stability at higher speeds and better performance on wide-open courses. For most recreational and competitive RC car racing in the UK, short wheelbase platforms are preferred because they deliver the responsive handling that makes RC driving more engaging and fun.
- What battery configuration should I use with this chassis? — This chassis is compatible with 2S and 3S LiPo battery packs based on the battery brace compatibility. The choice between 2S and 3S depends on your selected motor and ESC combination. A 2S LiPo (7.4 volts) offers moderate power delivery suitable for learning and casual driving, whilst 3S LiPo (11.1 volts) delivers noticeably higher performance and speed. Always ensure your motor, ESC and servo are rated for your chosen battery voltage before connecting them. Consult the specifications of your selected components to determine the appropriate battery configuration for your specific build.
- What suspension components do I need for this chassis? — This chassis features suspension mounting points for front and rear shock absorbers. Corally manufactures dedicated front shock absorbers and rear shock absorbers specifically designed for optimal fitment and performance with this chassis platform. You will also need suspension arms (available front and rear), caster blocks, steering blocks and various other suspension geometry components. Corally provides all these components as separate purchase items, allowing you to assemble a complete suspension system precisely matched to this chassis architecture.
- How does the composite material compare to aluminium or plastic chassis options? — Composite materials offer an excellent middle ground between durability and weight. Composite chassis are lighter than many aluminium options, improving acceleration and handling responsiveness, yet more durable than basic plastic designs. The specific composite material used in the Corally platform has been formulated to resist impact damage whilst maintaining flexibility to absorb impacts without cracking. This makes composite chassis particularly popular for both racing and recreational use across the UK RC community.
- Where can I find replacement and upgrade parts for this chassis? — Team Corally manufactures a comprehensive range of spare parts and upgrade components specifically engineered for this chassis platform. These include chassis covers, battery braces, shock absorbers, suspension arms, steering blocks, caster blocks, camber links, skid plates, body mounts, bumpers, wheel adapters and numerous fasteners. RC Model Shop stocks an extensive inventory of these genuine Corally components, ensuring you can maintain and customise your chassis indefinitely.
