Overview
The Corally Chassis Brace Center Upper for the Asuga XLR is a precision-engineered suspension component designed for RC car enthusiasts who demand the very best in performance and durability. This Swiss-made spare part is crafted from aerospace-grade 7075 T6 aluminium, material renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity. Whether you're a competitive RC racer fine-tuning your Asuga XLR, a weekend basher looking to upgrade your chassis stability, or an experienced RC car UK hobbyist seeking genuine OEM components, this centre upper chassis brace delivers the quality and reliability you expect from Corally's heritage of Swiss engineering excellence.
The Asuga XLR is a highly respected 6S brushless RC buggy platform in the UK RC community, and maintaining or upgrading its suspension system with genuine Corally parts ensures optimal performance and handling characteristics. This specific chassis brace plays a critical role in the vehicle's structural rigidity and suspension geometry, directly influencing cornering grip, stability under acceleration, and overall driving precision. When paired with a complete maintenance programme or performance upgrade routine, components like this centre upper brace help unlock the full potential of your ready to run RC car or race kit setup.
Manufactured in Italy to the exacting standards that Corally is famous for, every chassis brace is CNC-machined to tolerances that matter and finished with hard anodising in sleek black for both durability and aesthetic appeal. This is not a generic off-the-shelf fastener; it is a purpose-built suspension support component engineered specifically for the Asuga XLR platform, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable performance lap after lap.
Key Features
- Swiss-Made 7075 T6 Aluminium Construction — This component is machined from premium 7075 T6 aluminium, an aerospace-grade material offering superior strength and rigidity compared to softer aluminium alloys. The high tensile strength and resistance to deformation means the chassis brace maintains its geometry under cornering loads and suspension stress, directly translating to more consistent handling and predictable grip.
- CNC-Machined Precision — Every centre upper chassis brace is CNC-machined rather than cast or stamped, ensuring exact dimensional tolerances and a perfectly finished mounting surface. This precision manufacturing process eliminates variation between parts and guarantees proper alignment with the Asuga XLR's suspension components.
- Hard Anodised Black Finish — The hard anodising process creates a durable protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface that resists corrosion, scratching, and the wear from repeated suspension articulation. The gloss black aesthetic is also visually appealing and maintains its appearance across countless runs and maintenance sessions.
- 3mm Thickness Engineering — The 3mm wall thickness has been carefully engineered to provide the optimal balance between structural stiffness and overall chassis weight. Too thin and the component flexes; too thick and you add unnecessary mass. This thickness represents Corally's proven formula for suspension geometry stability.
- Made in Italy Quality Control — Corally's Italian manufacturing heritage ensures every batch undergoes rigorous quality inspection before shipment. You are purchasing a component built in a facility with decades of RC car engineering experience and exacting manufacturing standards.
- Direct Asuga XLR Compatibility — This centre upper chassis brace is engineered specifically for the Asuga XLR platform, ensuring perfect fitment with existing suspension geometry. No modification, shimming, or engineering required—install with confidence knowing it is an OEM solution.
Technical Performance
The chassis brace centre upper is a critical structural component in the Asuga XLR's suspension and chassis architecture. At 3mm thickness, it is engineered to maintain precise suspension geometry under the significant loads generated during acceleration, braking, cornering, and jumping. The 7075 T6 aluminium material provides the rigidity needed to prevent frame flex that would otherwise compromise the tuning of your front and rear suspension. When you install this brace, you are not just replacing a worn part—you are ensuring that your suspension tuning translates directly into on-track performance. The hard anodised finish protects against the corrosive effects of dirt, mud, grass, and moisture that are inevitable in outdoor RC racing, extending the component's service life and maintaining its appearance. In competitive 6S brushless RC buggy racing, where lap times are decided by fractions of a second, maintaining structural integrity across the entire chassis is paramount. This centre upper brace, in conjunction with other genuine Corally suspension components, helps ensure that your Asuga XLR maintains consistent handling characteristics race after race. The CNC-machined construction eliminates variation between units, meaning if you purchase multiple spares or maintain multiple vehicles, each component will perform identically.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this a genuine OEM Corally part or an aftermarket substitute? — This is a genuine Corally original equipment part, manufactured by Corally in Italy and sold directly through authorised RC retailers. It is not a generic substitute or third-party clone. The barcode 8718057223960 and part number C-00180-1126 ensure you are receiving the exact component engineered for your Asuga XLR.
- Which Asuga XLR models does this chassis brace fit? — This centre upper brace is compatible with all Corally Asuga XLR 6S variants, including the RTR brushless models in blue, red, and green, as well as the roller chassis versions. Whether you own the C-00288-B, C-00288-R, C-00288-G, C-00488-B, C-00488-R, or C-00488-G, this component will fit perfectly.
- Do I need any special tools to install this chassis brace? — The centre upper brace is installed using standard fasteners and hex keys common to RC cars. You should refer to the Asuga XLR assembly manual or parts diagram for installation torque specifications, but no specialist tools are required. If you are unfamiliar with RC car suspension work, we recommend consulting the official Corally manual or seeking guidance from experienced RC car technicians.
- What is the difference between the 3mm thickness and other options? — The 3mm thickness is the specification engineered by Corally for the Asuga XLR. This thickness represents their proven balance between structural rigidity and weight optimisation. Using non-standard thicknesses could alter suspension geometry and handling, so always stick with genuine 3mm Corally components for your Asuga XLR.
- Why is the material 7075 T6 and not 6061 or another aluminium alloy? — 7075 T6 is a premium aerospace-grade aluminium with significantly higher tensile strength and yield strength compared to softer alloys like 6061. This means it resists deformation under the extreme loads experienced during cornering, jumping, and acceleration, maintaining precise suspension geometry and consistent handling throughout your RC racing season.
- Is this component waterproof? — The hard anodised aluminium is corrosion-resistant and can withstand exposure to mud, water, and moisture. However, any fasteners used to install this component should be stainless steel or corrosion-resistant alternatives, and the component itself does not contain electronics or sealed cavities. It is designed for outdoor RC racing and will perform reliably in wet conditions when properly maintained.
- How often will I need to replace this chassis brace? — With proper maintenance and under normal RC racing conditions, the 7075 T6 aluminium centre upper brace should last for many seasons. Replace it only if you observe cracks, significant bending, or if you are upgrading your suspension geometry. Many racers keep spare chassis braces on hand for emergency repairs, but regular replacement is not necessary.
