Technical Performance
The Team Associated 5-40 x 7/16 Socket Head Screw represents precision engineering at the component level. Manufactured to OEM specifications, this fastener is engineered to withstand the vibrations, impacts, and stresses inherent in RC model operation. The socket head design is particularly valued in RC applications because it provides a larger bearing surface than traditional slotted heads, distributing load more effectively and reducing the risk of stripping. The 5-40 imperial thread is a metric commonly used across RC models manufactured to imperial specifications, making this a universally useful spare part. The 7/16 inch length has been specifically dimensioned to work with critical assembly points on Team Associated platforms, ensuring that when you need to replace a damaged or missing fastener, you're installing a component that matches the original engineering intent. Whether you're working on a Team Associated B4.1, B4, B4.2, T4, T4.1, T4.2, SC10, SC10B, SC10.2, SC10.3, or RC10 Classic, having genuine OEM fasteners like this socket head screw ensures your RC model maintains its original specifications and performance characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC models is this socket head screw compatible with? — This 5-40 x 7/16 socket head screw is designed for Team Associated platforms and other RC applications that specify imperial 5-40 thread fasteners. It's particularly suited for Associated B4.1, B4, B4.2, T4, T4.1, T4.2, SC10, SC10B, SC10.2, SC10.3, and RC10 Classic models. If you're unsure whether this fastener is correct for your specific RC model, we recommend checking your vehicle's assembly manual or contacting our team for confirmation.
- Why should I use genuine Team Associated fasteners instead of generic replacements? — Genuine OEM fasteners like this socket head screw are engineered to exact specifications to ensure proper fit, secure engagement, and reliable performance. Generic fasteners may have slightly different dimensions, thread pitches, or materials that could result in poor fit, stripping, or failure under RC driving stress. Using authentic Associated parts maintains your model's integrity and ensures it performs as the manufacturer intended.
- What size hex driver do I need to install this socket head screw? — While the exact hex driver size isn't specified in the product documentation, socket head screws of this size typically require a small hex driver. We recommend consulting your RC model's assembly manual or contacting our team for the precise tool size to avoid stripping the socket.
- How many should I order to keep as spares? — Many RC enthusiasts keep multiple spares of frequently-used fasteners. Socket head screws can become lost, stripped, or damaged during regular driving and maintenance. We suggest ordering at least 2-3 additional units beyond your immediate replacement need to have a proper spare inventory in your RC toolkit.
- Is this suitable for beginners working on their first RC model? — Absolutely. Fastener replacement is one of the most basic and essential maintenance skills for any RC hobbyist, and this genuine OEM part makes that job straightforward. The socket head design is particularly beginner-friendly because the hex socket provides secure engagement without risk of stripping the fastener head like slot-head designs.
