Overview

The Team Associated RC10B74.2 FT Vertical Rear Ballstud Mount Set (AS92323) represents a genuine performance upgrade for serious RC buggy enthusiasts who demand precision tuning capabilities. This Factory Team component is specifically engineered for the RC10B74 series of 1/10 scale 2WD buggies, offering expanded rear camber link adjustment that simply isn't possible with the standard kit tower. Whether you're competing at the highest levels or fine-tuning your RC car UK setup for optimal handling, these vertical ballstud mounts unlock new possibilities for roll centre and camber gain optimisation that dedicated RC racers have been requesting.

If you're running an RC10B74.1 or RC10B74.2, or considering upgrading your existing RC buggy platform, this component directly mounts to the shock tower supplied in the RC10B74.1 kit and immediately expands your suspension tuning envelope. The versatility offered by these mounts is particularly valuable because they allow lower ballstud positions and a further outboard ballstud location — both critical for fine-tuning your car's handling characteristics on different track conditions. This is the kind of precision performance upgrade that separates competitive setups from stock configurations.

Factory Team components are recognised worldwide as premium performance upgrades manufactured to exacting standards. The RC10B74.2 FT Vertical Rear Ballstud Mount Set demonstrates Team Associated's commitment to offering drivers the tools they need to extract maximum performance from their buggies. Order today and experience the difference that professional-grade suspension tuning can make to your racing.

Key Features

  • Vertical Ballstud Mounts — These precision-engineered mounts mount vertically rather than horizontally, dramatically increasing the tunability of your rear camber link and giving you access to suspension settings simply not available on the standard kit tower.
  • Lower Ballstud Positions — The mounts enable significantly lower ballstud heights than the original tower permits, allowing you to fine-tune roll centre and adjust camber gain for improved cornering performance and traction on your RC buggy.
  • Further Outboard Ballstud Position — In addition to lower mounting heights, these mounts position the ballstud further outward, expanding your adjustment range and giving you more control over chassis geometry for track-specific setup variations.
  • Direct Mounting to RC10B74.1 Tower — These components mount directly to the shock tower supplied in the RC10B74.1 kit, requiring no additional fabrication, cutting, or modification — they are a bolt-on upgrade that fits seamlessly into your existing setup.
  • Roll Centre and Camber Gain Control — By adjusting the inner rear ballstud position, you directly influence the vehicle's roll centre and camber gain characteristics, allowing you to optimise handling balance for different driving styles and track layouts.
  • Adjustable Ballstud Height with Washers — The mounting system uses standard washers above the ballstud to achieve precise vertical positioning, allowing you to match kit tower heights or explore new settings between them using the separately available aluminium washer range.
  • Versatility for RC10B74 Series — These mounts are compatible with the entire RC10B74 series including the RC10B74.2, making them an ideal upgrade whether you're running the latest specification or maintaining an earlier model.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated RC10B74.2 FT Vertical Rear Ballstud Mount Set is engineered with the precision expected from Factory Team components. These mounts provide structural mounting points for your rear camber links with a design focus on accessibility and adjustability. The vertical orientation allows ballstud positioning that the original tower design cannot accommodate, particularly regarding the inner hole mounting position, which has direct influence over your buggy's roll centre behaviour and camber gain response through the suspension travel range. The mounts are designed to interface directly with standard 12mm ballstuds (heavy-duty ballstuds AS91050 with long neck design are recommended for optimal performance) and utilise blue aluminium washers in 0.5mm, 1.0mm and 2.5mm thicknesses for precise height adjustment. The available adjustment range will vary depending on multiple factors including differential height, hub height, link length, and the specific configuration of your individual chassis, meaning your actual tuning envelope depends on your complete setup. It is essential to verify that camber links and ball cups clear all outdrives, dog bones, and anti-roll bar components before running with lower-than-standard positions, as interference can cause binding or component damage. The middle position using the outer hole achieves standard kit tower height with 0mm washers (no spacers), while the lower position on either hole uses 2.5mm washers to match the original tower's lower ballstud position. The upper position available on the standard kit tower cannot be achieved with these vertical mounts installed, making them best suited to setups where lower or middle camber link positions are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the RC10B74.2 FT Vertical Rear Ballstud Mount Set designed to do? — This Factory Team component expands the rear camber link adjustment range on RC10B74 series buggies by providing vertical ballstud mounts instead of the fixed positions on the standard kit tower. It enables lower ballstud heights and further outboard positioning to fine-tune roll centre and camber gain characteristics, giving competitive drivers access to suspension settings that improve handling on different track conditions.
  • Which RC buggy models is this compatible with? — These mounts are designed for the RC10B74 series, with confirmed compatibility including RC10B74.1 and RC10B74.2. The mounts attach directly to the shock tower supplied in the RC10B74.1 kit, making them a bolt-on upgrade for these specific platforms. If you're unsure about compatibility with your buggy model, we recommend contacting our team at RC Model Shop for guidance.
  • Can I use these mounts with the standard kit tower ballstud positions? — The vertical mounts cannot achieve the upper position available on the original tower — using N/A indicates this position is not accessible. The middle position can be replicated on the outer hole using 0mm washers (no spacers), and the lower position on both holes is achieved using 2.5mm washers to match the kit tower height. You will need to verify clearance with your specific differential height, hub height and link configuration.
  • What washers do I need for height adjustment? — The setup guidance indicates you may require blue aluminium washers in different thicknesses. For positions lower than 2.5mm, Team Associated recommends AS31387 (0.5mm), AS31388 (1.0mm), and AS31389 (2.0mm) washers. The middle position outer hole uses 0mm washers, while the lower position uses 2.5mm washers on both inner and outer holes.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — This is an advanced suspension tuning component intended for competitive drivers or experienced RC enthusiasts who understand suspension geometry and chassis setup. Installation is straightforward on existing RC10B74 buggies, but effective use requires knowledge of camber link adjustment, roll centre concepts and how these factors affect handling. If you're new to RC tuning, we recommend learning about these concepts before investing in this upgrade, or speak with our team who can provide guidance on suspension fundamentals.
  • What ballstuds should I use with these mounts? — Team Associated recommends heavy-duty ballstuds AS91050 (12mm with long neck design) for use with these vertical mounts. Standard or short-neck ballstuds may not provide the structural support or correct geometry required when running lower-than-standard positions.
  • Do I need to modify my buggy to install these mounts? — No modification is required. These mounts attach directly to the shock tower supplied in the RC10B74.1 kit using the same mounting method as the original tower components. Installation requires only standard hex key tools and takes minimal time to complete.
  • How do these mounts affect roll centre and camber gain? — Roll centre is determined largely by the position of the inner rear ballstud — lowering this position changes where the vehicle's suspension roll axis is located, directly affecting how the chassis responds to lateral forces in corners. Camber gain refers to how camber angle changes through suspension travel. By adjusting ballstud height, you modify these characteristics to suit your driving style, track surface and chassis configuration. Lower positions typically provide more camber gain and a lower roll centre.
  • What clearance issues should I be aware of? — It is essential to verify that camber links and ball cups clear all outdrives, dog bones, and anti-roll bar components before running with lower-than-standard positions. Interference between these components can cause binding, noise, or component damage. Available adjustment range depends on your differential height, hub height, link length and other setup factors, so verification on your specific buggy is critical.
  • Are these Factory Team original components? — Yes, these are genuine Team Associated Factory Team components manufactured to premium specifications. They represent the same quality standard used in professional racing setups and offer performance advantages over standard kit components.
