Overview

The Team Associated B74 FT Chassis Brace Carbon Fibre (AS92300) represents the cutting edge of Factory Team performance upgrades for serious RC buggy racers in the UK. Team Associated has introduced an exclusive new Factory Team line of carbon fibre composite option parts designed to deliver exceptional performance across several vehicles, and these chassis braces are engineered specifically for the RC10B74, B74.1 and B74.1D platforms. Whether you're competing at the highest level or pushing your RC car to the limit on track, this carbon fibre upgrade transforms the handling characteristics and durability of your buggy in ways that standard plastic parts simply cannot match.

Impregnated with rigid and lightweight carbon fibres within precision injection-moulded material, these Factory Team parts represent the ultimate in high-performance RC engineering. The B74 chassis brace upgrade is designed for racers who demand consistency, predictability and durability from their equipment, particularly when running on high-grip surfaces where chassis flex can compromise lap times and vehicle stability. If you're serious about RC car racing in the UK and want to extract every last ounce of performance from your B74 platform, this carbon fibre chassis brace is an investment that delivers tangible improvements in real-world racing conditions.

This is not a complete ready-to-run RC buggy, but rather a precision upgrade component for existing B74 owners who understand the importance of chassis stiffness and weight distribution in competitive racing. The upgrade path from standard hard plastic parts to these factory-engineered carbon fibre braces represents a significant leap in performance capability and is particularly valued by experienced RC enthusiasts and competition drivers.

Key Features

  • Lightweight construction with carbon fibre reinforcement — The chassis brace delivers approximately 12% weight savings compared to standard hard plastic option parts, which reduces overall vehicle weight and improves acceleration, braking and cornering response without sacrificing any structural integrity or performance.
  • Extreme rigidity and reduced chassis flex — The carbon fibre impregnation within the injection-moulded material creates a significantly stiffer chassis platform that provides more predictable handling, particularly in high-traction applications where chassis flex would normally cause inconsistent steering response and instability.
  • Enhanced stability in fast corners — The increased rigidity translates directly to improved vehicle stability during high-speed cornering, giving you confidence to push harder and maintain consistent lap times on high-grip racing surfaces without the chassis flexing and losing contact with the track.
  • Improved durability and longevity — These Factory Team parts demonstrate significantly improved strength compared to standard hard option parts, meaning they are more resistant to cracking, breaking and damage from impacts, high-speed crashes and the stresses of competitive racing.
  • Factory Team engineering excellence — As part of Team Associated's professional Factory Team line, these chassis braces are engineered to the same rigorous standards used in professional competition racing, ensuring compatibility, precision fit and reliable performance with your B74 platform.
  • Perfect compatibility with B74 platform — Designed specifically for the RC10B74, RC10B74.1 and RC10B74.1D models, this upgrade maintains complete compatibility with your existing setup whilst delivering measurable performance improvements without requiring additional modifications.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated B74 FT Chassis Brace represents a significant engineering advancement in carbon fibre composite materials for RC racing. The construction method utilises rigid carbon fibres impregnated throughout the injection-moulded material, creating a composite structure that combines the precision manufacturing benefits of injection moulding with the inherent strength and lightweight properties of carbon fibre reinforcement. This hybrid manufacturing approach delivers superior performance compared to solid plastic alternatives without the brittleness associated with pure carbon fibre components. The 12% weight saving achieves genuine improvements in vehicle dynamics — reducing unsprung mass improves suspension response, reduces inertia during acceleration and braking, and allows the chassis to respond more quickly to driver inputs and track conditions. The enhanced rigidity eliminates the subtle chassis flex that occurs in high-traction applications, where plastic braces can deflect slightly under cornering loads, causing the suspension geometry to change and creating unpredictable handling characteristics. With the carbon fibre brace, the chassis platform remains stable and consistent, allowing the suspension to work as originally designed by Team Associated's engineers. This is particularly important on high-grip surfaces where maximum performance and consistency are critical. The improved durability means these braces are less prone to cracking or breaking during the demanding environment of competitive RC racing, where impacts, high speeds and aggressive driving conditions constantly challenge component strength. For serious RC car UK racers running the B74 platform, this upgrade delivers noticeable improvements in lap time consistency, cornering speed and overall vehicle responsiveness.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between these carbon fibre chassis braces and standard hard plastic parts? — The carbon fibre braces offer approximately 12% weight savings over standard hard plastic option parts, significantly increased rigidity to reduce chassis flex, improved durability with better resistance to cracking and breaking, and enhanced stability in high-traction racing conditions. The rigidity improvement is particularly noticeable in fast corners where standard plastic braces can flex slightly, whereas these carbon fibre braces maintain a stable platform for more predictable handling.
  • Which RC10B74 models are compatible with these chassis braces? — These chassis braces are specifically designed for the RC10B74, RC10B74.1 and RC10B74.1D models. They will not fit other Associated models, and it is important to verify your model number before ordering to ensure compatibility.
  • Are these chassis braces suitable for beginner RC racing? — Whilst these are high-performance Factory Team components, they are upgrade parts rather than beginner components. They are most beneficial for experienced racers who understand chassis dynamics and can appreciate the performance improvements they deliver. Beginners would benefit more from learning with standard hard plastic parts before upgrading to these premium carbon fibre components.
  • How much weight do these carbon fibre braces save compared to hard plastic? — The carbon fibre chassis braces deliver approximately 12% weight savings over standard hard plastic option parts, which may seem modest but translates into measurable improvements in acceleration, braking response and overall vehicle agility on the track.
  • Will these chassis braces improve my lap times? — Yes, the increased rigidity and weight savings can contribute to improved lap times, particularly on high-grip racing surfaces where chassis consistency is critical. The more predictable handling and increased stability in corners allow experienced drivers to maintain better speed and consistency throughout a race run.
  • Why would I upgrade to carbon fibre braces? — Upgrading to these carbon fibre braces makes sense if you are running competitive racing programmes where marginal performance gains matter, if you want improved durability and longevity from your components, or if you are pushing your B74 to its limits and require maximum chassis stiffness for consistent handling.
