Technical Performance
The Team Associated B74 Slipper Shaft AS92226 is engineered with precision manufacturing tolerances that match the exact specifications of Team Associated's original equipment. The slipper assembly in the B74 buggy serves as a critical torque management system, protecting the transmission and driveshafts from damage during hard acceleration, sudden deceleration, and intense driving conditions. This genuine replacement part is manufactured from durable materials selected by Team Associated to withstand the rigorous demands of competitive 1/10 RC buggy racing and recreational bashing. The precision engineering ensures smooth operation without binding or excessive play, which is essential for maintaining the responsiveness and predictability that serious RC enthusiasts demand from their vehicles. Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated B74 Slipper Shaft suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement component rather than a complete vehicle, so it's best suited to users who already own a B74 buggy and have basic mechanical experience. However, if you're comfortable working on RC cars and can follow your kit manual, installation is straightforward. For complete beginners to RC cars, we recommend starting with a ready to run RC buggy model and learning the basics before tackling internal drivetrain components.
- How do I know if my slipper shaft needs replacement? — Signs that your slipper shaft may need replacement include visible bending or damage when inspected, inconsistent slipper engagement that affects acceleration response, unusual noise or grinding sounds coming from the drivetrain area, or excessive play in the slipper assembly. If you notice any of these symptoms, refer to your B74 kit manual to confirm the AS92226 is the correct replacement for your specific model version.
- Will this part work with other Team Associated models? — This slipper shaft is specifically engineered for the Team Associated B74 1/10 4WD buggy platform. While other Team Associated models may use similar components, it's essential to check your specific kit manual to confirm the correct part number for your model and build version before ordering, as different platforms may require different specifications.
- What is the difference between an original Team Associated part and a generic replacement? — The Team Associated B74 Slipper Shaft AS92226 is manufactured to the exact original equipment specifications by Team Associated, ensuring perfect dimensional accuracy, proper material composition, and reliable performance. Generic or aftermarket alternatives may vary in tolerances, material quality, or finish, potentially leading to binding, wear, or compatibility issues. Choosing the genuine part protects your investment in your B74 buggy and ensures your slipper assembly operates exactly as designed by the engineers at Team Associated.
- How often should I replace the slipper shaft? — With proper maintenance and normal use, a quality slipper shaft should last for many seasons of RC driving. However, if you run your buggy frequently in competitive racing or intense bashing conditions, you may want to inspect it regularly and replace it if you notice any signs of wear, bending, or damage. Keeping a spare AS92226 on hand is a smart practice for serious RC enthusiasts who want to minimise downtime during race events or extended driving sessions.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, absolutely. The AS92226 is an official Team Associated replacement component, supplied by RC Model Shop as an authorised retailer. This guarantees you're receiving a genuine OEM part with full compatibility and performance assurance, not a counterfeit or inferior imitation.
