Technical Performance
The Team Associated B74 Front CVA Set represents precision engineering designed for the demanding world of 1/10 scale 2WD buggy racing. CVA stands for Constant Velocity Axle, which is the critical component that transmits power from the motor through the transmission to the front wheels whilst allowing for suspension movement and steering articulation. The B74 platform is engineered with meticulous attention to geometry and performance, and this front CVA set maintains that engineering excellence. Built from durable materials selected specifically for their strength-to-weight ratio and longevity, this set withstands the intense forces generated during acceleration, deceleration, and cornering at competitive speeds. The B74 is known for its sharp handling characteristics and responsive steering, both of which depend on a properly functioning front drivetrain with no play or wear in the CVA assembly. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of wear components like this CVA set ensures that your RC buggy maintains the level of precision handling and power delivery that separates winners from second-place finishers. Whether running on carpet, clay, or astro turf at your local RC track, a fresh front CVA set keeps your B74 performing at its peak.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a CVA and why does my RC buggy need one? — CVA stands for Constant Velocity Axle, which is the component that transfers power from your RC car's transmission to the front wheels whilst allowing for steering and suspension movement. On high-performance 1/10 scale buggies like the B74, the CVA bears significant stress from acceleration, braking, and cornering loads. Over time, especially with intensive racing, CVA components can wear and develop play, which reduces steering precision and power delivery efficiency. Replacing your front CVA set restores smooth operation and maintains the tight tolerances that define the B74's famous handling characteristics.
- How often should I replace the front CVA set on my B74? — The frequency depends on how intensively you use your RC buggy. Racers running multiple heats weekly may need replacement every few months, whilst casual weekend bashers might extend intervals to six months or longer. Check for signs of wear such as play in the joint, clicking or popping noises during acceleration, or reduced steering response. When these symptoms appear, replacement is overdue. Keeping a spare CVA set in your pit box is smart practice for serious racers.
- Is the Team Associated B74 Front CVA Set suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement spare part rather than a complete RC buggy, so it is intended for owners who already have a B74 and understand basic RC maintenance. If you are new to the hobby and own a B74, this is a sensible part to purchase as a backup, but you will want to familiarise yourself with your buggy's maintenance procedures or consult the official Team Associated B74 manual for installation guidance.
- Will this CVA set work on my B74.1 or B74.2D? — Yes, this part is compatible with the B74, B74.1, and B74.2 variants, making it an excellent universal spare for owners with multiple generations of this platform. Team Associated designed these variants with strong parts compatibility to allow builders to mix and match components across their fleet of buggies.
- What is the difference between OEM Team Associated parts and aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine Team Associated OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts like this CVA set are manufactured to the exact specifications established by Team Associated engineers and tested to their quality standards. Aftermarket parts may offer cost savings but often involve slight dimensional variations, different material compositions, or inconsistent quality control, any of which can affect handling precision and durability. For a precision 1/10 scale racing buggy like the B74, genuine parts ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
