Technical Performance
The Team Associated B74 Differential Case – Centre represents precision engineering from one of the world's most respected RC car manufacturers. Team Associated has built its reputation on delivering high-quality components that perform reliably in competitive environments, and this differential case exemplifies that commitment. The centre differential is a vital component of the B74's four-wheel drive system, responsible for distributing engine torque between the front and rear axles whilst allowing them to rotate at different speeds during cornering. This differential case houses the internal gearing mechanism that enables this sophisticated power distribution. The B74 platform itself is celebrated for its handling balance and performance characteristics, which depend critically on a properly functioning and well-maintained centre differential. When the differential case becomes damaged or excessively worn, it can compromise the entire drivetrain's performance, leading to inconsistent handling, excessive tire wear, and power loss. By replacing it with this genuine Team Associated component, you restore the precise engineering that makes the B74 such an effective competition platform. The case is designed to work seamlessly with B74 centre differential assemblies, ensuring that when you rebuild or refresh your differential, all components work together harmoniously. This compatibility extends across the B74 family, including the B74, B74.1, B74.2, and B74.2D variants, making this a versatile spare part for anyone running one of these popular Team Associated buggies.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Team Associated B74 centre differential case used for? — This component is the housing case for your B74's centre differential assembly. The centre differential distributes power from your RC buggy's motor between the front and rear axles whilst allowing them to rotate at different speeds during cornering. The case itself houses all the internal gearing and bearing components that make this power distribution possible. If your differential case becomes cracked, stripped, or damaged through racing or crashes, this replacement part restores your drivetrain to factory condition.
- Which RC buggy models will this differential case fit? — This genuine Team Associated part is compatible with B74 centre differential assemblies across the B74 family, including the B74, B74.1, B74.2, and B74.2D models. It is specifically designed for the centre differential application and is not suitable for front or rear differential cases. Always consult your vehicle manual to confirm compatibility before ordering.
- Do I need special tools to install this differential case? — Installation requires standard RC hobby tools and basic mechanical knowledge. Team Associated recommends consulting your vehicle's instruction manual for proper assembly order and critical torque settings. Incorrect assembly can compromise performance and lead to premature wear of drivetrain components. If you're uncomfortable undertaking this work yourself, consider asking experienced RC enthusiasts at your local club or taking your vehicle to a qualified RC technician.
- Is this part suitable for beginners? — This is a specialist component designed for those undertaking differential servicing and rebuilding. If you're new to RC car maintenance, we recommend beginning with simpler upgrades and consulting your vehicle manual carefully before attempting differential work. Our team at RC Model Shop in Walsall can provide guidance and advice on proper maintenance procedures for your B74.
- How often should I service my B74 differential? — Regular differential servicing extends component life and maintains consistent handling performance. Many competitive racers service their differentials after every competition season or every 10-15 hours of use. Recreational bashers should service their differentials annually or whenever they notice grinding sounds, uneven power delivery, or erratic handling during cornering.
- What should I do before fitting this differential case? — Before installation, carefully review your B74 instruction manual for the correct assembly sequence and specified torque settings. Ensure all internal differential components (gears, bearings, and shims) are in good condition; if you're rebuilding your differential, this is the ideal time to inspect and replace worn internal components. Proper assembly is critical to ensure your differential functions smoothly and reliably.
