Overview
The Associated FT B64/B64D Steering Block Arms +2 (AS92033) are precision-engineered steering components designed for serious RC car enthusiasts who demand optimal handling and responsiveness from their 1/10 scale buggies. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend track basher, or dedicated RC hobbyist in the UK, these steering block arms deliver measurable improvements in steering geometry and cornering consistency. These upgraded components are specifically engineered for the RC10B64 platform and remain compatible with the B64D and B64 Club Racer models, making them an essential upgrade for anyone looking to fine-tune their RC car UK setup.
Manufactured by Associated, one of the most respected names in RC racing, these steering block arms represent a direct evolution over the stock #92032 components. The key advantage lies in increased Ackermann geometry, which is a fundamental steering principle that allows the inside wheels of your RC car to turn at a sharper angle than the outside wheels during cornering. This seemingly technical specification translates into real-world benefits: smoother entry into corners, more predictable mid-corner behaviour, and faster exit speeds. For drivers competing in organised RC racing events or simply seeking to improve their lap times on local club tracks, this upgrade delivers noticeable performance gains.
The steering block arms are laser-etched with clear markings that enable rapid identification and quick setup adjustments at the track. This thoughtful design feature means you can switch between different steering configurations without confusion, which is invaluable when you're testing various setups to optimise your car's performance. Available as a ready-to-install upgrade, these components require no modification to fit and work seamlessly with your existing B64 platform RC car, making them an accessible performance upgrade for both novice and experienced RC enthusiasts across the UK.
Key Features
- Increased Ackermann Geometry — These steering block arms provide more Ackermann than the stock #92032 steering plates, which is a critical steering geometry principle that improves how your RC car corners. By adjusting the steering angle difference between inside and outside wheels, you achieve smoother, more consistent steering response that translates to faster lap times and improved drivability in competitive racing situations.
- Laser-Etched Identification Markings — Each steering block arm is clearly marked with laser-etched identification, allowing you to quickly identify which arms are fitted and making track-side setup changes straightforward and error-free. This feature is especially valuable during competition days when you need to swap components rapidly between practice and qualifying sessions.
- Smoother Steering Response — The enhanced steering geometry delivers noticeably smoother steering response across the entire range of steering input, reducing the abrupt or twitchy behaviour sometimes associated with stock steering setups. This improved consistency helps you maintain better control through technical sections of the track and build confidence in your car's handling characteristics.
- Direct Fit Compatible — These steering block arms are engineered as direct replacements for the stock components on the RC10B64, B64D, and B64 Club Racer models, requiring no modification or additional tuning to install. Simply remove your existing steering plates and fit these upgraded arms to experience immediate improvements in your car's steering performance.
- Competition-Grade Engineering — Manufactured to Associated's exacting standards using quality materials, these steering block arms are built for durability and precision, making them suitable for competitive racing, intensive track use, and demanding off-road conditions across the UK RC racing scene.
Technical Performance
The Associated FT B64/B64D Steering Block Arms +2 represent a focused engineering solution to one of the most important aspects of RC buggy performance: steering geometry. The +2 designation indicates an increase of 2 degrees in Ackermann geometry compared to the stock #92032 steering plates. This seemingly modest adjustment has profound effects on how your 1/10 scale buggy responds to steering input and corners on the track. Ackermann geometry is a principle derived from full-size automobile engineering, where it describes the relationship between the steering angles of the front wheels during cornering. In RC racing, optimising Ackermann geometry allows the inside front wheel to turn at a tighter angle than the outside front wheel when cornering, which reduces tyre scrubbing and improves overall grip and handling precision. The +2 specification provides increased Ackermann relative to stock, offering a more aggressive steering setup that benefits drivers seeking improved cornering speed and responsiveness. The laser-etched markings are a practical engineering detail that reflects the level of precision expected in modern RC racing components. These markings serve both as identification aids and as reference points for consistent setup changes, ensuring that your car maintains repeatability between track sessions. The steering block arms are constructed using quality materials engineered for durability and precision fit, ensuring that they maintain their geometry under the stresses of competitive racing and intensive use.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Ackermann geometry and why do I need +2 steering block arms? — Ackermann geometry defines the steering angle relationship between your RC car's front wheels during cornering. The +2 specification means these arms provide 2 degrees more Ackermann than the stock #92032 plates, resulting in smoother steering response, reduced tyre scrubbing during cornering, and improved overall handling consistency. This is particularly beneficial if you race competitively or seek to optimise your RC car UK for track performance.
- Will these steering block arms fit my RC car? — These steering block arms are confirmed as direct fit components for the RC10B64, B64D, and B64 Club Racer models. If you own one of these Associated RC buggy platforms, these arms will install without modification or additional parts. Simply remove your existing steering plates and fit these upgraded arms.
- What is the difference between the +2 steering block arms and stock steering plates? — The primary difference is increased Ackermann geometry, which changes how your front wheels steer relative to each other during cornering. The stock #92032 plates provide standard Ackermann, whilst the +2 arms provide additional Ackermann for more responsive and consistent steering behaviour. This upgrade smooths out steering response and helps drivers achieve faster lap times, especially through technical corners.
- Are these steering block arms suitable for beginners? — Yes, these are suitable for all skill levels. However, they are particularly valuable for drivers seeking to improve performance and those competing in organised RC racing events. Beginners will notice improved steering consistency and easier control, whilst experienced drivers can use them to optimise their competitive setup. They are a straightforward upgrade requiring no special knowledge to install.
- How do the laser-etched markings help during setup? — The laser-etched identification markings allow you to quickly identify which steering configuration is installed and make track-side adjustments without confusion. This is invaluable during competition days when you need to swap steering components between practice and qualifying sessions, or when testing different steering geometries to find your optimal setup.
