Overview
The Team Associated B6.3 FT Steering Bellcrank +3mm Black (AS91915) is a precision-engineered steering geometry upgrade designed for serious RC buggy racers in the UK and beyond. This Factory Team component addresses one of the most common handling challenges faced by competitive drivers: bump steer introduced when running lower caster angles on high-traction surfaces. Whether you're racing on clay, carpet, or artificial turf, this upgrade allows you to fine-tune your steering geometry whilst maintaining predictable, consistent handling through the entire suspension travel. It's an essential upgrade for anyone looking to squeeze extra cornering speed and precision out of their Team Associated 1/10 RC buggy.
Professional RC drivers have long recognised that reducing caster from the standard 5-degree kit inserts down to 0 or 2.5 degrees can provide a genuine competitive advantage on high-traction tracks. The problem, however, is that these lower caster angles inadvertently raise the outer steering block ball, which creates unwanted bump steer—a condition where the steering angle changes as the suspension compresses and extends through bumps and corners. This affects your ability to maintain consistent wheel angles and predictable handling, ultimately costing you lap time and control. The Factory Team +3mm bellcrank set solves this problem elegantly by raising the steering geometry by exactly 3 millimetres, effectively counteracting the bump steer introduced by lower caster inserts. The result is faster cornering, more predictable handling, and the confidence to push harder through technical sections of the track.
This isn't a modification for casual weekend bashers—it's a serious competition component built to Factory Team specifications. If you're running an RC10B6.3, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.1, or any other B-series 2WD Team Associated buggy, or if you race SC10 or T6 series vehicles, this steering bellcrank set delivers the precision geometry adjustment that pro racers demand. Available in sleek black anodised finish with a laser-etched Factory Team logo, these bellcranks combine exceptional durability with the kind of attention to detail you'd expect from Team Associated's competition division.
Key Features
- +3mm Raised Steering Geometry — This precisely engineered height increase counteracts the bump steer created by running 0-degree or 2.5-degree caster inserts, maintaining consistent steering angles through the entire suspension travel for faster, more predictable cornering on high-traction surfaces.
- CNC Aluminium Construction — Machined from solid aluminium using precision CNC methods, these bellcranks are engineered to eliminate flex and provide rock-solid steering feel, delivering the reliability and consistency that competitive racers demand.
- Black Anodised Finish — Hard anodised in professional black, the bellcranks resist corrosion and wear whilst maintaining a competition-grade appearance. Also available in blue anodised if you prefer a contrasting colour scheme.
- Laser-Etched Factory Team Logo — The iconic FT branding isn't just cosmetic—it identifies these as genuine Factory Team competition components built to the highest standards.
- Optimised for High-Traction Tracks — Designed specifically for clay, carpet, and artificial turf racing where maintaining precise steering geometry becomes critical to lap time and handling consistency.
- Universal B-Series and Truck Compatibility — Compatible with the entire RC10B6 lineup (B6.3, B6.2, B6.1 variants), plus RC10T6 trucks and SC10 short-course trucks, making this a versatile upgrade across multiple platform bases.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated B6.3 FT Steering Bellcrank represents the cutting edge of RC buggy steering geometry optimisation. These components are engineered using precision CNC machining to ensure absolute accuracy and consistency, with each pair manufactured to identical specifications. The aluminium construction provides the strength needed for racing whilst keeping weight to a minimum, and the hard anodised black finish provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability even under hard track use. The +3mm height adjustment is engineered to work in perfect harmony with 0-degree and 2.5-degree caster inserts, creating a combined geometry that eliminates bump steer whilst maintaining the steering response characteristics that make these lower caster angles desirable in the first place. On high-traction surfaces such as clay and carpet—where many of the fastest RC tracks operate—this geometry correction translates directly into measurable lap time improvements. The bellcranks feature precision ball end connections that maintain tight tolerances and eliminate play, critical for maintaining steering precision throughout a race. The laser-etched Factory Team markings aren't merely aesthetic; they indicate that these components have been manufactured to the same specifications used by Team Associated's factory racing team, guaranteeing competition-grade quality and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is bump steer and why should I care about it? — Bump steer is the unintended change in steering angle that occurs when your suspension compresses or extends. When you run lower caster angles (0 or 2.5 degrees) on high-traction surfaces, the geometry of your steering blocks can cause this bump steer to become pronounced, making your car unpredictable through bumpy sections and reducing cornering speed. The +3mm bellcrank addresses this by adjusting the steering geometry to counteract the bump steer, giving you consistent steering feel throughout the suspension travel.
- Will this bellcrank work with my standard 5-degree caster blocks? — These bellcranks are specifically designed to work with 0-degree and 2.5-degree caster inserts, which create the bump steer condition they're engineered to address. Whilst you can technically install them with 5-degree caster blocks, you won't experience the full benefit of the +3mm geometry correction. For best results, pair these bellcranks with the lower caster angle inserts for which they were optimised.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a competition-grade component designed for serious racers who are already familiar with caster geometry and suspension tuning. If you're new to RC racing, you might want to master the basics with standard bellcranks first before moving to geometry-specific upgrades like this.
- How much does this improve lap times on carpet and clay tracks? — The lap time improvement depends on your track surface and how effectively you can use the lower caster angles. Professional racers have reported measurable improvements on high-traction surfaces when combining this bellcrank with appropriate caster inserts, but the real benefit comes from the handling consistency and confidence these components provide through corners.
- Can I use these bellcranks on my RC buggy for UK racecourse competitions? — Yes, absolutely. These Factory Team components are competition-legal for BRCA racing and similar UK RC racing organisations. Many UK racers choose Team Associated's factory parts specifically for competition use, and these bellcranks are commonly seen at racing events across the country.
- What's the difference between the black and blue anodised versions? — Both versions are identical in function and performance; the difference is purely cosmetic. Choose black for a sleek, professional appearance or blue for a contrasting colour scheme that stands out against your buggy's chassis.
- Do I need any tools to install these bellcranks? — You'll need basic RC tools including an Allen key to remove your existing bellcranks and install the new ones. The installation process is straightforward and takes just a few minutes, making this one of the simplest but most effective geometry upgrades you can make to your buggy.
