This design protects your gears, differentials, and motor from destructive shock loads that occur during aggressive driving.
- Outer Hub Assembly — This component forms the outer portion of the complete slipper clutch assembly, working in conjunction with other drivetrain elements to regulate power delivery. Understanding which part you're replacing ensures you order the correct component for your specific repair.
- B6.1 Compatibility — Specifically designed and tested for Team Associated B6.1 1/10 scale buggy platforms, guaranteeing perfect integration with all other factory components and systems.
- Routine Maintenance Essential — The slipper clutch experiences regular wear with use and should be inspected periodically. Having this replacement part on hand allows you to complete preventative maintenance without waiting for parts or experiencing unexpected drivetrain failure during important races or events.
- Race-Day Ready — Every serious RC competitor knows that slipper clutch reliability can determine race outcomes. This genuine spare ensures you're never caught without a critical replacement component when you need it most.
- Consistent Power Transfer — A properly functioning slipper hub outer maintains consistent engagement and power delivery throughout your driving session, preventing the loss of traction and handling control that comes with a worn slipper clutch.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated B6.1 HTC Slipper Hub Outer represents decades of precision engineering and real-world testing by one of the most respected manufacturers in competitive RC racing. Team Associated has established themselves as leaders in the 1/10 scale buggy market, and their attention to detail extends to every individual component, including this slipper hub outer. The HTC designation refers to the high-torque conversion specification, which means this part is engineered to handle the demanding load cycles associated with modern brushless motor systems and high-performance 3S LiPo batteries that deliver substantial torque to the drivetrain. The slipper clutch assembly is fundamental to protecting your gearbox and differential from the shock loads that occur during rapid acceleration, wheelies, and hard braking. When you apply full throttle on a sticky surface, without a properly functioning slipper system, those forces transfer directly to your transmission, potentially stripping gears or damaging bearings. The slipper hub outer works as part of a precision friction system, allowing measured slippage that dissipates energy before it reaches vulnerable internal components. This is why maintaining your slipper clutch in excellent condition is absolutely critical for both longevity and performance. The B6.1 platform has proven itself across thousands of UK RC tracks and bash spots, and using genuine Team Associated replacement parts ensures you maintain that proven level of reliability and handling precision that makes this buggy such a popular choice among serious competitors and weekend bashers alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a slipper clutch and why do I need to replace the hub outer? — The slipper clutch is a precision component that protects your RC buggy's drivetrain by allowing controlled slippage when acceleration forces exceed a predetermined threshold. The hub outer is part of this assembly and experiences regular wear with use. Over time, the friction surfaces can become glazed or damaged, reducing the slipper's effectiveness and causing inconsistent power delivery. Replacing worn slipper components ensures your buggy maintains predictable handling and protects your gears and differentials from catastrophic damage.
- Is this part essential for my B6.1, or can I drive without it? — The slipper hub outer is an essential component of your B6.1's drivetrain. Running without it or with a damaged slipper system will result in poor performance, unpredictable handling, and significantly increased risk of gearbox damage or differential failure. For any serious RC enthusiast using a brushless motor system, maintaining a fully functional slipper clutch is non-negotiable.
- How often should I replace my slipper hub outer? — This depends on your driving style and frequency. Aggressive drivers who regularly push their RC buggy to the limit may need to replace slipper components every few months, whilst casual bashers might go longer. Regular inspection during routine maintenance helps identify wear before it becomes critical. Having a spare on hand means you can replace it immediately if needed, rather than facing downtime waiting for parts to arrive.
- Will this part fit other Team Associated buggies? — This part is specifically engineered for the B6.1 platform. Whilst Team Associated designs their models with shared component families, slipper hubs are precision-matched to their specific platforms. Always verify compatibility before ordering to ensure perfect fitment and performance.
- What should I order along with this replacement? — When replacing the slipper hub outer, consider inspecting your complete slipper assembly. You may also want to order slipper springs, drive cups, or other transmission components depending on your buggy's condition. RC Model Shop can help you identify exactly which parts will restore your drivetrain to factory specifications.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, absolutely. This is an authentic OEM component manufactured by Team Associated to their exact specifications, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance with your B6.1. Using genuine parts preserves your buggy's handling characteristics and reliability in ways that aftermarket alternatives simply cannot match.
