Technical Performance

The ASSOCIATED HD TiN BALLSTUDS 4MM AS91750 represent the pinnacle of linkage engineering for RC car applications. Constructed with precision manufacturing standards, these ballstuds feature a Titanium Nitride coating that provides superior wear resistance and significantly reduced friction compared to uncoated alternatives. This coating technology is particularly important in RC car applications where linkages experience constant articulation and steering inputs throughout the vehicle's operating life. The 4mm ball size has become the industry standard for turnbuckles and rod ends, and these ballstuds are machined to exacting tolerances to ensure perfect mating with corresponding female components. The heavy-duty construction means the ballstuds can withstand the lateral forces, impact loads, and vibrational stresses inherent in RC car operation, whether you're driving high-speed circuit races, off-road terrain, or competitive stadium truck racing. The TiN coating not only extends component lifespan but also maintains consistent performance characteristics throughout the ballstud's service life, preventing the performance degradation that occurs with standard uncoated ballstuds. For RC enthusiasts in the UK who understand that precision linkage performance is fundamental to vehicle handling, steering response, and competitive performance, these genuine Associated spares are an investment in reliability and consistent performance. The engineering quality ensures smooth articulation in steering and suspension assemblies, which directly translates to more responsive and predictable vehicle handling during driving.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the 4mm ball size and why is it important for my RC car? — The 4mm ball diameter is the industry-standard size for turnbuckles and rod ends used in RC car linkages. This universal sizing ensures that the ballstuds are compatible with a wide range of Associated RC models and aftermarket components, allowing you to maintain and upgrade your vehicle with confidence that parts will fit correctly.
  • What does TiN coating mean and why does it matter? — TiN stands for Titanium Nitride, a hard ceramic coating applied to the ballstud surface. This coating significantly improves wear resistance, reduces friction between the ball and socket, and extends the service life of the component. For RC car applications where linkages articulate thousands of times during driving, this coating technology is essential for maintaining consistent performance and reducing the need for frequent replacement.
  • How often should I replace my ballstuds on my RC car? — Ballstud replacement frequency depends on driving intensity and conditions. For regular maintenance, it's advisable to inspect ballstuds during routine servicing and replace any that show visible wear, play, or corrosion. Competitive racers typically replace ballstuds more frequently to maintain peak performance, whilst casual hobbyists may find they last considerably longer with standard use.
  • Are these ballstuds compatible with my Associated RC car model? — Yes, the AS91750 ballstuds are listed as compatible spare parts for numerous Associated models including the B6 series, B64 series, B6.1 series, B6.2 series, B6.3, B6.4 series, T6.1, T6.2, T6.4, SC6.4, RC10SC6.1, RC10SC6.2, B74 series, and Reflex 14B models. However, as dimensions and fitment can vary by model, it's recommended to refer to your vehicle's manual for specific compatibility confirmation and installation guidance.
  • What makes genuine Associated spares better than third-party alternatives? — Genuine Associated spares like the AS91750 are engineered to the exact specifications and tolerances required by Associated RC cars. This ensures perfect fitment, optimal performance, and reliability. As an authorised spare part, these ballstuds have been developed and tested by the manufacturer to maintain your vehicle's performance characteristics and longevity.
  • How do I know if my ballstuds need replacing? — Signs that your ballstuds need replacement include visible play or looseness in the linkage, grinding or rough articulation, visible wear or pitting on the ball surface, or corrosion from moisture exposure. If you notice unresponsive steering or vague suspension response, worn ballstuds could be the culprit and should be inspected.
  • Can I use these ballstuds for routine maintenance or only for repairs? — The AS91750 ballstuds are ideal for both routine maintenance and repair replacement. Many RC enthusiasts proactively replace ballstuds during regular servicing to prevent performance degradation and maintain optimal handling consistency, particularly before important races or events.
