Overview

The Team Associated CVA Bone B5/B5M/B6/B6.1 (65mm) AS91439 is an essential replacement part for anyone running Team Associated RC buggies in the UK. This pack of two genuine CVA bones is designed to restore and maintain the drivetrain of your RC car when original components become worn through regular use. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend basher, or dedicated hobbyist, having quality replacement spares on hand ensures your RC buggy stays in peak condition and delivers consistent performance on the track or terrain.

CVA bones are critical drivetrain components that engage with the barrel and pin assembly to transfer power smoothly through your RC buggy's transmission system. Over time, with repeated use and engagement cycles, these bones naturally wear down, which can lead to loose fitment, reduced power transfer efficiency, and inconsistent performance. By replacing them with genuine Team Associated parts, you ensure that your buggy maintains the factory-specification engagement that the engineers at Associated designed for optimal reliability and performance.

This is the authentic replacement component for Team Associated's 1/10 scale RC10B5 and RC10B5M buggies, and is also compatible with B6, B6.1 and other models in the B-series lineup. When purchasing RC spares in the UK, choosing genuine manufacturer parts guarantees correct fitment, consistent quality, and the performance your RC buggy deserves.

Key Features

  • Pack of Two CVA Bones — This set contains two replacement bones, providing enough spares for a complete drivetrain renewal or for keeping backup components on hand for your RC car collection.
  • Genuine Team Associated Part — These are authentic OEM parts manufactured by Team Associated, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable performance that matches the original components in your buggy.
  • Direct Compatibility with B5-Series Buggies — Specifically engineered for Team Associated RC10B5 and RC10B5M models, with extended compatibility across the B6, B6.1 and related B-series platforms, making this a versatile spare for multiple Associated buggies.
  • Restoration of Drivetrain Engagement — When bones become worn, they lose their precise engagement with the barrel and pin assembly, causing drivetrain slop and performance loss; fresh CVA bones restore factory-specification engagement and smooth power delivery.
  • Recommended Pairing with CVA Barrel and Pin Set — For optimal results and even wear patterns, Team Associated recommends replacing the CVA bones together with the CVA barrel and pin set (ASC91438), ensuring all drivetrain components work together in harmony.
  • Standard Fitment Spares — These are classified as standard parts by Associated, meaning they are commonly replaced maintenance items that every serious Associated buggy owner should keep in their spares box.

Technical Performance

The CVA (Compound Variable Angle) bone system is a carefully engineered drivetrain component that requires precision manufacturing to ensure consistent performance. At 65mm in length, these bones are specifically dimensioned for Associated B-series 1/10 scale buggies, and their design allows for efficient transfer of power from the motor through the transmission to the wheels. The engagement between the bones and the barrel assembly is critical to maintaining drivetrain efficiency, reducing drivetrain resistance, and ensuring that your RC buggy delivers responsive acceleration and reliable performance throughout extended running sessions. When bones wear, they develop micro-play that accumulates and reduces the overall drivetrain precision that Associated is renowned for. The material composition and manufacturing tolerances of genuine Associated CVA bones ensure they wear evenly and consistently, maintaining engagement quality over many hours of use. Whether you're running your B5, B5M, B6 or B6.1 on carpet tracks, dirt surfaces, or outdoor terrain, having fresh CVA bones means your buggy will maintain the tight, responsive drivetrain feel that makes Associated buggies so popular amongst competitive racers and serious hobbyists throughout the UK RC community.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which Team Associated buggies are compatible with the CVA Bone AS91439? — These 65mm CVA bones are designed for the RC10B5 and RC10B5M platforms and are also compatible with B6, B6.1, B6D, B64, B64D, B6.1D, B6.1DL models, as well as various other Associated platforms including DR10, RB10, SR10, DR10M, and some Pro2 variants. Always check your specific model's parts diagram to confirm fitment before ordering.
  • When should I replace my CVA bones? — You should consider replacing your CVA bones when you notice loose drivetrain engagement, grinding noises from the transmission, or when the bones show visible wear or damage. For competitive racers, proactive replacement during regular maintenance intervals ensures consistent performance. Many hobbyists replace them annually or after every 20-30 hours of running time, depending on usage intensity.
  • Should I replace just the bones or the whole CVA system? — Team Associated recommends replacing the CVA bones together with the CVA barrel and pin set (ASC91438) for optimal results. This ensures all drivetrain components are fresh and wear evenly, providing the best possible engagement, smoothest power delivery, and longest component lifespan.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are 100% genuine OEM Team Associated parts manufactured to factory specifications. When you purchase from an authorised UK retailer like RC Model Shop, you can be confident you're receiving authentic components with the quality guarantee Associated stands for.
  • How long do CVA bones typically last? — Lifespan depends on running intensity, track conditions, and maintenance practices. Casual racers might get 30-40 hours of use, whilst competitive drivers may need replacements more frequently. Regular inspection helps catch wear early and prevents drivetrain damage.
  • Can I use these bones on different Associated models? — The compatibility list is quite extensive across the B-series platform, but always verify your specific model before purchasing. The 65mm dimension is a standard specification across many Associated 1/10 scale buggies, but fitment varies by platform generation.
