Overview
The Team Associated M2 x 4mm Flat Head Phillips Screw (AS89326) is a genuine Team Associated fastener engineered for precision RC applications where a flush, countersunk finish is essential. This small but crucial component is designed for builders, maintainers and enthusiasts working on Team Associated RC platforms across the UK. Whether you're performing routine maintenance on your RC car, rebuilding after a bash session, or repairing damage from track use, these genuine OEM screws ensure you maintain the exact specifications your model was built to. RC car UK enthusiasts and serious hobbyists trust Team Associated fasteners because they're manufactured to exacting tolerances and integrate seamlessly with Team Associated chassis and body components.
As a spare part, the M2 x 4mm Phillips screw serves as an essential replacement during routine maintenance or major repairs on suitable RC platforms. The flat head design allows for precise, low-profile mounting where a flush, countersunk finish is required—critical for maintaining aerodynamics, reducing snagging, and ensuring professional-quality builds. This is the fastener choice for anyone serious about keeping their ready to run RC car performing at its best, or for builders constructing competition-grade machines. Whether you're restocking your spares box or replacing lost fasteners from a crash, having genuine Team Associated hardware on hand ensures continuity of fit and performance across your RC fleet.
The AS89326 represents the kind of attention to detail that separates properly maintained RC cars from those that gradually accumulate fitment problems and inconsistencies. By using original Team Associated fasteners as replacements, you guarantee that your RC model maintains its factory engineering integrity. This is especially important for semi-scale enthusiasts, race competitors, and anyone building a high-quality RC car setup in the UK hobby market.
Key Features
- M2 Thread Size — The M2 metric thread diameter is the precise fastening specification used in Team Associated RC platforms, ensuring compatible fit across suspension components, body mounts, electronics boxes and structural assemblies without guesswork or adaptation.
- 4mm Length — The 4mm length is engineered to penetrate through mounting surfaces and into threaded holes without bottoming out or creating stress concentrations, providing secure engagement while avoiding over-tightening damage.
- Flat Head Design — The flat (countersunk) head profile sits flush with the mounting surface, eliminating protrusions that could catch debris, affect aerodynamics, or create snag points during racing or bashing sessions on your RC car.
- Phillips Drive Type — The Phillips head drive accommodates standard Phillips screwdrivers and hex drivers with Phillips adapters, making installation and removal straightforward using common workshop tools without requiring specialist fastener equipment.
- Genuine Team Associated Component — As an official Team Associated part (AS89326), this fastener meets OEM manufacturing standards and quality control specifications, guaranteeing dimensional accuracy and material consistency across multiple units in your spares collection.
- Low-Profile Mounting — The countersunk design enables mounting in applications where surface profile is critical, such as body panel attachment points, wing mounts, and aesthetic body lines that require absolutely flush fastening for scale appearance.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated M2 x 4mm Flat Head Phillips Screw exemplifies the engineering precision that goes into genuine OEM fasteners for high-performance RC applications. Manufactured to metric M2 specifications, this screw delivers repeatable threading engagement across all Team Associated RC platforms where it is specified. The 4mm length is calculated to provide adequate penetration into standard threaded inserts and welded nuts commonly found in suspension mounts, body post locations, and electronics box assembly points, whilst avoiding the material stress that occurs when fasteners bottom out. The flat head profile—also known as countersunk or socket head cap style—is essential in semi-scale RC designs and competition machines where every millimetre of profile matters for aerodynamic efficiency and visual authenticity. The Phillips drive type provides good torque transfer during tightening without the cam-out tendency of slotted drives, making installation safer and less likely to strip the fastener head. As a genuine Team Associated component, the material specification, hardness characteristics, and finish quality are consistent with factory assembly standards, meaning these fasteners will not strip, crack, or fail prematurely when used in their intended applications. For UK RC enthusiasts maintaining brushless RC cars, electric buggies, touring cars, or short course trucks, having a supply of genuine replacement fasteners in your workshop ensures zero compatibility issues and maintains your model's resale value and performance heritage.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated M2 x 4mm screw suitable for all Team Associated RC models? — This fastener is compatible with suitable RC platforms from Team Associated's range, but correct placement and application depend on your specific model. Always refer to your model's manual for suggested compatibility and placement to ensure the correct fit and avoid using the fastener in applications for which it is not designed.
- What makes a flat head screw different from other screw types for RC cars? — The flat head (countersunk) design sits flush with the mounting surface, creating a low-profile finish that does not protrude. This is critical for RC applications where aerodynamic efficiency, aesthetic appearance, and preventing snagging on obstacles are important. Unlike raised head fasteners, flat head screws maintain a clean, scale appearance and reduce the risk of impact damage during bashing or racing.
- Can I use aftermarket M2 x 4mm screws instead of genuine Team Associated fasteners? — Whilst aftermarket fasteners might fit dimensionally, genuine Team Associated parts (AS89326) are manufactured to OEM specifications and quality standards that ensure consistent performance, material properties, and durability. Using genuine fasteners maintains your RC model's engineering integrity and resale value, and eliminates the risk of fitment inconsistencies or premature failure from inferior material quality.
- How many screws should I keep in my spares box? — A single screw is provided here as a replacement unit, but RC enthusiasts typically stock multiple spare fasteners of each specification because fasteners are commonly lost during crashes, disassembly, or outdoor bashing sessions. Consider ordering several units to build a comprehensive spares inventory for your RC fleet.
- What is the difference between M2 x 4mm and other metric fastener sizes? — The M2 specification refers to a 2mm metric thread diameter, whilst the 4mm is the overall length from the tip to the underside of the head. These dimensions are precisely engineered for Team Associated RC platforms and are not interchangeable with M3, M2.5, or other metric sizes. Using the correct specification ensures proper engagement in threaded holes and prevents cross-threading or loose fitment.
