Technical Performance
The Team Associated Set Screw M5X4mm represents precision engineering in fastening technology. The M5 designation refers to a metric thread size with a 5mm nominal diameter, whilst the 4mm length specification ensures these screws sit perfectly flush in their designated mounting points without protruding or creating clearance issues. These set screws are engineered to the exact tolerances required by Team Associated's design specifications, ensuring compatibility across their entire RC model range. The metric sizing provides universal compatibility with precision-engineered RC models manufactured to international standards. Built to Team Associated's exacting quality standards, these fasteners deliver reliable performance in the demanding environment of RC motorsport, where vibration, impacts and repeated assembly and disassembly are common. Whether you're running competitive off-road buggies, 2WD stadium trucks, 4WD touring cars or truck models, these set screws provide the dependable fastening you need. The compact 4mm length makes these ideal for applications where space is limited and larger fasteners would create interference or clearance problems. For RC enthusiasts in the UK building or maintaining Team Associated models, having genuine M5 x 4mm set screws ensures every component sits exactly where it should, maintaining the structural integrity and performance characteristics your RC car was engineered to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are set screws used for in RC cars? — Set screws are precision fasteners used throughout RC model assemblies to secure components such as gear hubs, motor mounts, steering linkages and other critical parts. They are smaller than standard screws and designed to sit flush in countersunk mounting points, preventing them from catching on other components or creating interference during driving.
- Will these Team Associated set screws fit my RC model? — These M5 x 4mm set screws are used across the entire Team Associated range, including all RC8, RC8T, RC8B, SC8, SC10 and other Associated models. Check your assembly manual or parts diagram to confirm that M5 x 4mm is the correct specification for your particular model before ordering.
- How many spare set screws should I keep in my pit box? — The pack of 10 provides excellent value and gives you multiple spares for repairs and maintenance throughout a racing season. Most pit boxes benefit from keeping at least one complete pack on hand, as set screws can be lost or damaged during assembly, disassembly and repair work.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are 100% genuine Team Associated OEM hardware manufactured to Team Associated's exact specifications. Using genuine parts ensures proper fit, reliable performance and compatibility with your RC model.
- Can I use standard metric set screws instead of genuine Team Associated parts? — Whilst generic metric set screws might fit dimensionally, using genuine OEM hardware is always recommended for RC models. Genuine Team Associated set screws are manufactured to exact tolerances, ensuring they provide the precise fit your model was engineered to accept, which helps maintain reliable performance and prevent component failure.
- What is the difference between set screws and standard screws in RC cars? — Set screws are typically headless or have a very low profile head, allowing them to sit flush in countersunk mounting points without creating interference. Standard screws have larger heads designed to distribute load across a wider surface. Set screws are ideal for RC applications where space is limited and a low-profile fastener is essential.
