As a critical component used in numerous Associated RC models, having genuine replacement bearings on hand ensures your RC car UK setup stays in peak condition.

Metric bearings are fundamental to smooth, efficient operation in RC cars and trucks of all types. The 5x8x2.5mm specification is a common size found across many Associated platforms, making these bearings invaluable for any RC enthusiast who owns multiple models or regularly maintains their collection. Supplied as a pack of four, this quantity allows you to replace bearings across multiple pivot points or keep spares for future maintenance. These bearings represent genuine Associated quality, ensuring compatibility and performance across your entire RC car fleet.

RC Model Shop stocks these authentic bearings to support your hobby, whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your ready to run RC car, a weekend basher enjoying off-road fun, or a dedicated builder constructing custom RC vehicles from kits. Key Features

  • Genuine Associated Component — These are authentic factory bearings manufactured to Team Associated's exacting specifications, ensuring they meet the same quality standards as your RC car's original equipment and deliver consistent, reliable performance every time you run.
  • Metric Specification 5x8x2.5mm — The precise dimensions ensure perfect compatibility with Associated models and other RC cars where this bearing size is specified, eliminating guesswork and guaranteeing proper fitment without modification or adaptation.
  • Pack of Four Bearings — Receiving four bearings in a single pack provides excellent value and convenience, allowing you to replace multiple worn bearings in one go or maintain a useful spare set for future maintenance and repairs.
  • Compact Design — The low-profile 2.5mm width makes these bearings suitable for space-constrained RC car applications where standard larger bearings cannot fit, yet they deliver full functionality and load-carrying capacity.
  • Smooth Rotation — Quality bearings are essential for smooth, friction-free operation in RC cars, directly contributing to better handling, faster acceleration, and improved overall performance whether you're running on road or off-road courses.
  • Easy Replacement — These straightforward replacement components require no special tools or expertise, making bearing maintenance accessible to RC enthusiasts of all skill levels, from beginners discovering ready to run RC cars to experienced competitors.
  • Reliable Performance — Bearings are critical wear items in RC cars, subject to continuous rotation and load, making quality replacement parts essential for maintaining your investment and keeping your RC vehicle performing at its best.

Technical Performance

The Associated FT Bearings represent precision engineering in miniature form. These metric bearings feature an inner diameter of precisely 5mm and an outer diameter of 8mm, with a carefully engineered width of 2.5mm that allows them to fit into the compact bearing bays found throughout Associated RC car designs. The construction and materials used in these genuine Associated bearings ensure they can handle the continuous rotation, side loads, and occasional impacts that characterise RC car operation. Whether you're running a brushless RC vehicle at high speeds, executing tight cornering manoeuvres in competitive racing, or enjoying casual bashing through rough terrain, these bearings provide the smooth, consistent rotation essential for optimal performance. The compact metric specification makes them ideal for modern RC car engineering where space efficiency and lightweight construction are paramount. Regular bearing replacement is part of responsible RC car maintenance, as bearings gradually wear under use and can develop internal play or resistance that degrades handling and efficiency. These genuine Associated bearings ensure you're using components engineered specifically for Associated models, maintaining the performance characteristics the manufacturer designed into your RC car from the factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What models do these Associated bearings fit? — The 5x8x2.5mm specification is a standard metric bearing size used across numerous Associated RC car platforms including the RC8T, RC8B, TC, F6, RB10, SR10, SR7, SC10, SC7, Pro4, T7, DC10, Rival MT8 and B74 series, as well as other manufacturers' vehicles where this bearing size is specified. Check your vehicle's parts diagram or manual to confirm compatibility with your specific model.
  • How often should I replace bearings in my RC car? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on how heavily you use your RC car. Competitive racers who run frequently may replace bearings every few months, while casual hobbyists might only need replacements annually or when they notice rough or stiff rotation. Regular inspection helps identify worn bearings before they cause handling problems. These genuine Associated replacements ensure you maintain factory performance standards.
  • Are these metric bearings different from standard imperial bearings? — Yes, metric bearings use the metric system for measurements (millimetres), while imperial bearings use inches. The 5x8x2.5mm specification is metric and will only fit applications designed for this exact size. Using the wrong bearing specification can result in poor fit, excessive play, or components not fitting properly into your RC car.
  • Can I use these bearings in other RC car brands? — While these are Associated-manufactured bearings, the 5x8x2.5mm metric specification may be compatible with other RC car brands that use the same bearing size. However, always verify bearing specifications in your vehicle's manual before purchasing. RC Model Shop can help you confirm compatibility with your specific model.
  • What tools do I need to replace bearings in my RC car? — Most bearing replacements require only basic tools like small screwdrivers and hex keys typically found in standard RC tool kits. Some bearings press-fit into components and may require a small bearing press or careful mechanical leverage. Consult your RC car's assembly manual for specific bearing installation procedures for your model.
  • How do I know when my RC car bearings need replacing? — Signs of worn bearings include rough or grinding sensations when spinning wheels by hand, resistance or stiffness in movement, rattling noises, or degraded handling and acceleration performance. If you notice any of these symptoms in your ready to run RC car or custom build, bearing inspection and replacement should be your first maintenance step.
  • Is this a genuine Associated product? — Yes, absolutely. These are authentic Associated FT Bearings manufactured by Team Associated to their original specifications. RC Model Shop stocks only genuine products from authorised distributors, ensuring you receive authentic components that meet the manufacturer's exact quality standards and performance requirements.
