Technical Performance

CVA bones are critical suspension components in Team Associated's renowned RC8 buggy platform, responsible for maintaining proper front and rear suspension geometry and articulation. These 93mm bones are precision-engineered from quality materials to withstand the demanding forces generated during acceleration, braking, and cornering in competitive racing environments. The Factory Team designation means these parts are manufactured to identical specifications as those used in works race cars and factory-supported competition vehicles. Proper suspension geometry is absolutely crucial for RC buggy performance – even minor variations in bone length can affect handling characteristics, tire contact patch, and overall consistency. The RC8B4 and RC8B4e platforms are known for their competitive performance in off-road buggy racing across the UK and internationally, and maintaining proper suspension geometry with genuine Factory Team parts is essential to extracting that performance. Team Associated's engineering ensures that these CVA bones provide consistent performance lap after lap, race after race, making them an investment in your buggy's reliability and your competitive success.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a CVA bone and why do I need a spare? — A CVA bone is a critical suspension geometry component in the RC8 buggy that connects suspension linkages and maintains proper wheel alignment and suspension travel. During racing and regular use, these components can wear or break, making genuine spares essential for maintaining performance and ensuring your buggy is ready for the next race or bashing session.
  • Will these fit my RC8 buggy? — Yes, if your buggy is an RC8B4 or RC8B4e model. However, you should verify the 93mm length requirement by checking your kit manual or exploded view diagram, as the RC8 series includes various suspension geometry options. The AS81497 part number identifies this as the correct 93mm length component.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Absolutely. These are genuine Factory Team components manufactured to the exact specifications used in official Team Associated kits and racing vehicles. They are not aftermarket alternatives – they are the authentic spares specified in Team Associated's official parts documentation.
  • What is the difference between Factory Team and standard parts? — Factory Team parts are manufactured to competitive racing specifications with tighter tolerances and quality control. They represent the highest standard of Team Associated engineering and are used in works race cars and competition vehicles. For serious racers and dedicated hobbyists, Factory Team parts ensure your buggy performs at its absolute best.
  • Can I use other brands' suspension bones instead? — While other manufacturers may produce similar-looking components, using non-genuine parts risks improper fitment, altered suspension geometry, and potential performance or reliability issues. For a chassis as precisely engineered as the RC8, genuine Team Associated parts are essential to maintain the manufacturer's design intent and performance.
  • How often should I replace CVA bones? — This depends on your usage. High-frequency racers may need spares available for quick replacement between events. Regular bashers should inspect bones periodically for wear or damage. Keeping genuine Factory Team spares on hand ensures you're never without this essential component when you need it.
