Technical Performance
The Team Associated Rear Springs V2 represent precision suspension tuning engineering at its finest. These springs are manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure consistency across the range, with the 3.9 lb/in rate sitting comfortably in the mid-range of available options for RC8B3 series buggies. When installed on RC8B3 and RC8B3e platforms equipped with big-bore 1:8 shocks, these springs work in harmony with the shock absorber geometry to provide controlled compression and rebound characteristics. The V2 specification incorporates refinements based on extensive competition testing, ensuring that your suspension performs reliably whether you're racing on carpet circuits, outdoor clay tracks or concrete surfaces. The black anodised finish is more than cosmetic—it provides genuine corrosion resistance that keeps your springs performing consistently through seasons of use. For serious RC buggy racing in the UK, where competitive lap times matter and chassis tuning can make the difference between victory and defeat, these springs offer the kind of engineering integrity and performance that discriminating racers demand from their equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which RC8 models are these rear springs compatible with? — These Team Associated Rear Springs V2 in 3.9 lb/in are designed to fit RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8T3.2 and RC8T3.2e vehicles. If you're running an earlier RC8B3 or RC8B3e model, you'll need to source the separate AS81221 Spring Collars and AS81194 Spring Cups, as these are included as standard on the B3.1 and B3.1e kits.
- Do I need any additional parts to install these springs? — If your vehicle is an RC8B3.1 or RC8B3.1e, the spring collars and cups are already included in your kit. For RC8B3 or RC8B3e models, you'll need to purchase the AS81221 Spring Collars and AS81194 Spring Cups separately. All newer variants (B3.2, T3.1, T3.2 series) come equipped with these components as standard.
- What does the 3.9 lb/in spring rate mean? — The spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 3.9 lb/in rating means you need 3.9 pounds of force to compress the spring by one inch. This is a mid-range stiffness that works well for general RC buggy racing and provides a good balance between responsiveness and stability across most track conditions. Softer springs (lower numbers) provide more compliance, whilst stiffer springs (higher numbers) reduce body roll.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are 100% genuine OEM Team Associated parts manufactured to the exact specifications and quality standards of the company. We stock only authentic Team Associated components, ensuring you receive the performance and reliability you expect from official manufacturer parts.
- What is the difference between the V2 and earlier spring versions? — The V2 designation indicates the updated specification incorporating the latest engineering refinements from Team Associated. These improvements are based on feedback from competitive RC racing and real-world testing, ensuring better performance and reliability than earlier generations.
- Can I use these springs on other RC buggy brands? — These springs are specifically engineered for Team Associated's RC8 series platforms and their unique shock geometry. Using them on other brands' buggies would likely result in poor handling and may cause damage to the vehicle. Always use suspension components designed for your specific vehicle model.
