Key Features
- Genuine Team Associated Component — This is an official Team Associated replacement spring, not an aftermarket alternative, which means it meets the exact specifications and quality standards that Associated engineering requires for their RC8B3 platform. Using genuine parts ensures compatibility and maintains the integrity of your suspension system.
- 5.4 lb/in Spring Rate — The 5.4 lb/in stiffness rating provides a defined step in the available spring range for the RC8B3, allowing you to make precise handling adjustments to suit specific track conditions, weather changes and driving styles without overstepping to the next spring rate.
- Front Suspension Tuning — This front spring allows you to fine-tune your RC buggy's steering response, front end support and overall ride characteristics, which are critical factors in achieving consistent lap times and predictable handling in competitive racing scenarios.
- Matched Suspension Geometry — When paired with a matching right-side spring, this component helps maintain symmetrical suspension geometry, which is essential for balanced steering feel, consistent cornering grip and overall vehicle stability across multiple runs and track sessions.
- Incremental Setup Control — By offering a specific stiffness rating within the spring range, this part allows you to make small, measurable adjustments to your suspension setup, enabling you to dial in handling without making drastic changes that could destabilise your vehicle.
- RC8B3 Compatibility — This spring is specifically designed as a replacement for the Team Associated RC8B3 1/8 scale off-road buggy, ensuring perfect fitment and performance integration with this proven competition platform.
Technical Performance
The Associated Front Spring 5.4 lb/in represents precision suspension engineering designed specifically for the demands of competitive 1/8 scale RC off-road racing. The 5.4 lb/in spring rate sits at a carefully calculated position within the available spring range for the RC8B3, allowing you to make meaningful adjustments to your vehicle's suspension stiffness without overstepping to a completely different handling characteristic. This front spring is engineered from quality materials that provide consistent performance, reliability and durability through multiple race meetings, practice sessions and track days. The spring maintains its design characteristics across wide temperature ranges, which is particularly important for UK RC enthusiasts who may be racing in varying seasonal conditions from spring through autumn. When you're tuning the front suspension of a 1/8 scale off-road buggy, the choice of spring rate directly influences how your vehicle responds to bumps, kerbs and track imperfections, as well as how effectively the front end grips during acceleration, braking and cornering. The 5.4 lb/in rate provides a balance between front-end support and ride compliance, making it suitable for a variety of track surfaces and driving conditions. Team Associated's engineering ensures that this spring works in harmony with the RC8B3's suspension geometry, damper settings and overall chassis design to deliver the handling consistency that competitive racing demands.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this front spring suitable for my RC8B3 buggy? — Yes, this genuine Team Associated component is specifically designed as a replacement for the RC8B3 1/8 scale off-road buggy. It fits directly into the front suspension assembly without modification and integrates seamlessly with the RC8B3's suspension geometry and damper system.
- What does the 5.4 lb/in spring rate mean for my RC car's handling? — The 5.4 lb/in rating indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A stiffer spring rate (higher lb/in number) provides more support and reduces body roll during cornering, whilst affecting how the suspension responds to bumps and track imperfections. The 5.4 lb/in rate sits at a defined step within the available range for the RC8B3, allowing you to make specific tuning adjustments to match your track conditions and driving style.
- Can I use this spring on its own, or do I need to buy a pair? — For balanced and symmetrical handling, you should use matched springs on both the left and right sides of your front suspension. Whilst you can replace just one spring if needed, purchasing a pair of springs is recommended for consistent handling characteristics and predictable steering response.
- What is the difference between this 5.4 lb/in spring and other rates in the range? — Team Associated offers multiple spring rates for the RC8B3 to allow fine-tuning of suspension stiffness. A lower lb/in rate (softer spring) provides more compliance and better bump absorption but reduces front-end support. A higher lb/in rate (stiffer spring) provides more support and reduces body roll but may feel harsher over bumps. The 5.4 lb/in rate represents a specific step in this range, allowing you to make precise handling adjustments without overstepping to a completely different setup.
- How do I know if I need to change my front spring rate? — If your RC buggy feels unstable during cornering or has excessive body roll, a stiffer front spring may help. If the front end feels too stiff and bouncy, or if the front suspension isn't absorbing bumps effectively, a softer spring rate may be better. The 5.4 lb/in rate sits at a defined position in the range, making it an ideal choice for specific handling characteristics on particular track surfaces.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part or an aftermarket alternative? — This is a genuine, official Team Associated replacement component manufactured to the exact specifications and quality standards required by Team Associated engineering. Using genuine parts ensures compatibility, reliability and the confidence that your suspension system meets the original design requirements.
- What is the difference between front and rear springs for the RC8B3? — Front and rear springs are engineered with different characteristics to support the specific suspension geometry and handling requirements of the front and rear axles. This is a front-specific component and should not be substituted for a rear spring without consulting suspension setup guidance.
