Technical Performance
The AS81194 shock rod ends and spring cups are engineered with precision tolerances typical of Team Associated's manufacturing standards. The 20mm diameter sizing is a critical specification that determines spring compatibility, opening access to a substantially broader selection of spring rates than the standard package. This expanded tuning window is particularly valuable for competitive RC buggy racing in the UK, where different venues and track conditions demand different suspension characteristics. The collars and cup assemblies are manufactured from durable materials designed to withstand the forces generated during high-speed cornering, aggressive acceleration, and the repeated impacts of off-road racing. By upgrading from the standard shock setup to these 20mm rod ends and spring cups, drivers gain the ability to experiment with multiple spring rates without purchasing entirely new shock absorbers, making this one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades available for the RC8B3 platform. The precision engineering ensures that spring changes translate directly into measurable changes in vehicle handling, allowing drivers to progressively dial in their ideal setup through methodical testing and adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these 20mm shock rod ends fit my RC8B3 buggy? — Yes, these AS81194 components are specifically designed for the RC8B3, RC8B3.1, and RC8B3.2 chassis platforms and will install as direct replacements or upgrades to your existing shock rod ends.
- What benefit do 20mm rod ends provide over smaller diameter options? — The 20mm specification allows you to use a significantly wider range of available spring rates, giving you much greater flexibility in tuning your suspension to match your driving style and track conditions.
- Are these suitable for beginners, or do I need to be an experienced racer? — While these are technically spare parts best suited to drivers already familiar with suspension tuning, anyone comfortable performing basic maintenance on their RC8B3 buggy can install these rod ends and experiment with different spring options to improve performance.
- Will upgrading to these rod ends and spring cups improve my buggy's performance? — These upgrades expand your tuning options rather than providing a direct performance boost, but by allowing you to fine-tune your suspension for your specific driving style and track conditions, they enable you to realise the full potential of your RC8B3 chassis.
- Can I use these with springs from other manufacturers? — The 20mm diameter is a standard specification in the RC hobby, so these rod ends and cups will work with most quality aftermarket springs designed for 20mm shock systems, giving you access to springs from various manufacturers and spring rate options.
- What makes Team Associated spare parts different from generic alternatives? — Team Associated components are engineered to the same precision standards as the original chassis, ensuring perfect fitment, consistent performance, and long-term reliability through countless racing sessions.
