The Associated RC8B3 FT Rear Anti-Roll Bar 2.5-2.7mm (AS81140) is a genuine Factory Team tuning component designed for serious RC racers and enthusiasts who demand precision handling control. This rear sway bar represents the pinnacle of suspension tuning options available for the RC8B3 platform, allowing you to fine-tune roll stiffness and balance your RC car's cornering response to suit any surface and grip condition. Whether you're competing on a high-traction track or experimenting with different setups at your local RC club, this authentic Associated spare part gives you the professional-grade tuning flexibility that separates winning drivers from the rest.
RC enthusiasts across the UK have trusted Associated's Factory Team components for decades, and this rear anti-roll bar exemplifies why. The 2.5-2.7mm specification sits within the higher end of the anti-roll bar range, providing thicker, stiffer options that are particularly suited for high traction tracks where maximum bite and responsive handling are essential. As an OEM genuine Associated part, you can be confident you're installing a component engineered to exact specifications and built to the same quality standards as your RC8B3 chassis itself.
This is the kind of upgrade that serious RC car UK competitors invest in when they're ready to move beyond basic setup and start dialling in advanced suspension tuning. Whether you're running an RC8B3, RC8B3.1, or RC8B3.2, this rear anti-roll bar kit unlocks a new level of handling precision and track performance.
Key Features
- Genuine Factory Team Component — This is an authentic Associated Factory Team part (AS81140), not a third-party alternative, ensuring it meets the exact engineering specifications required for optimal compatibility and performance with your RC8B3 platform.
- 2.5-2.7mm Specification Range — The thicker anti-roll bar diameter (2.5-2.7mm) provides increased roll stiffness, which lowers the roll centre and reduces body roll during cornering, delivering more responsive and predictable handling on high-traction racing surfaces.
- Advanced Suspension Tuning Option — This component allows you to fine-tune the rear roll control and handling balance of your RC8B3, enabling you to adapt your setup to different track conditions, weather, and surface grip levels without replacing the entire suspension geometry.
- High Traction Track Optimised — Thicker anti-roll bars are engineered for tracks where grip is high and consistent, allowing you to exploit the increased traction available and maintain better cornering stability at racing speeds.
- Compatible with Multiple RC8B3 Variants — This rear anti-roll bar works seamlessly with RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.2, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2e platforms, as well as RC8T3 and RC8T4 series vehicles, making it a versatile addition to your spare parts collection.
- Roll Centre Control — By adjusting anti-roll bar thickness, you directly control the roll centre height at the rear of the car, a critical suspension parameter that professional racers use to dial in precise handling characteristics for specific track conditions.
Technical Performance
The Associated RC8B3 FT Rear Anti-Roll Bar represents decades of professional racing engineering distilled into a simple but highly effective tuning component. Anti-roll bars (also called sway bars or anti-sway bars) work by resisting body roll during cornering, and the thickness of the bar directly determines how much resistance is provided. The 2.5-2.7mm specification positions this component at the stiffer end of the tuning range, ideal for tracks with high grip and consistent surface conditions where you want maximum cornering response and minimal body movement. The engineering principle is straightforward but powerful: a thicker, stiffer bar transfers weight more efficiently across the rear axle during cornering, reducing inside wheel unloading and maintaining better tyre contact patch throughout the turn. This results in more predictable handling, faster turn-in response, and better mid-corner stability — precisely what competitive RC racers need when they're hunting for lap time improvements. The component is precision-engineered to Associated's Factory Team specifications, ensuring perfect fit and function with your RC8B3, RC8B3.1, or RC8B3.2 chassis. The material composition and manufacturing tolerances meet professional racing standards, delivering the durability and consistency you need for reliable performance across multiple races and practice sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an anti-roll bar and why would I need to change mine? — An anti-roll bar (sway bar) resists body roll during cornering and affects how your RC car handles in turns. By changing the thickness of your anti-roll bar, you adjust the roll stiffness of your chassis. Thinner bars provide less resistance (better for low or medium bite tracks), while thicker bars like this 2.5-2.7mm option provide more resistance (better for high traction tracks). Changing your anti-roll bar is one of the most effective suspension tuning methods available to RC racers.
- Which RC8B3 models is this compatible with? — This rear anti-roll bar fits RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.2, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2e, RC8B4, RC8B4.1, RC8B4.1e, RC8B4e, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8T3.2, RC8T3.2e and RC8T4 series vehicles, providing broad compatibility across the Associated racing platform.
- Should I use thicker or thinner anti-roll bars? — Thinner anti-roll bars (like the 2.2-2.4mm range) are better for low or medium bite tracks where you need a softer setup to maintain tyre grip. Thicker anti-roll bars like this 2.5-2.7mm option are designed for high traction tracks where maximum cornering stiffness helps your RC car maintain stability and deliver faster lap times.
- How do I know which anti-roll bar thickness is right for my track? — The best way to dial in your anti-roll bar is through systematic testing. Start with a medium thickness setting and gradually move thicker or thinner while monitoring your lap times and handling characteristics. Thicker bars reduce body roll and improve turn-in response on grippy tracks, while thinner bars improve compliance on lower grip surfaces. Many racers invest in the full range of anti-roll bars so they can quickly adapt to changing conditions.
- Is this a Factory Team part? — Yes, this is an authentic Associated Factory Team component (part number AS81140), engineered to precise specifications for professional racing use and guaranteed to meet OEM quality standards.
- What battery and charger do I need? — This is a passive suspension component with no electronics, so no battery or charger is required. It simply installs into your existing RC8B3 chassis.
