Overview
The Associated RC8B3/RC8B3.1/RC8B3.2 FT Front Anti-Roll Bar 2.0-2.2mm (AS81129) is an essential tuning component for serious RC enthusiasts running the popular RC8B3 series platform. Whether you're competing at your local track or fine-tuning your RC car UK setup for maximum performance, this Factory Team front anti-roll bar set offers precise control over your vehicle's handling characteristics. Anti-roll bars are fundamental suspension components that control how much your RC buggy leans during cornering, directly affecting steering response, stability and overall balance across a wide range of track conditions.
This comprehensive set includes three different thickness options—2.0mm, 2.1mm and 2.2mm bars—allowing you to dial in the perfect front-end geometry for any racing scenario. Whether you're tackling a low-grip surface or a high-traction technical track, having multiple anti-roll bar options in your spares box is crucial for competitive RC racing. The thinner bars in this set are specifically designed to lower the roll centre on the front end of your RC car, which fundamentally changes how the chassis responds to cornering forces and track feedback.
Associated, recognised worldwide as a leading RC car manufacturer, designs all Factory Team components to exacting standards. These anti-roll bars are engineered for reliability and precision, making them an ideal upgrade or replacement for any RC8B3 series owner looking to optimise their vehicle's performance. If you're serious about competitive RC buggy racing in the UK, this is a product you'll want to have on hand.
Key Features
- Three Different Thickness Options — This set includes 2.0mm, 2.1mm and 2.2mm anti-roll bars, giving you multiple tuning configurations without purchasing separate products. Having three options means you can quickly adapt to different track conditions and find the perfect balance for your driving style without waiting for additional orders.
- Thinner Bar Design for Lower Roll Centre — The thinner anti-roll bars in this set are engineered to lower the roll centre on the front end of your RC8B3, which improves steering precision and cornering confidence. A lower roll centre reduces body roll during aggressive cornering, allowing your buggy to maintain better contact with the track surface and improving overall stability.
- Optimised for Low to Medium Bite Tracks — These thinner bars are specifically engineered for low to medium grip track conditions where reducing roll stiffness helps your RC car respond more naturally to track feedback. Using thinner bars on these surfaces allows your buggy to flex and adapt, improving traction and reducing understeer.
- Factory Team Quality Engineering — As part of Associated's Factory Team range, these anti-roll bars meet the same rigorous standards used in professional RC racing. Factory Team components are trusted by competitive drivers worldwide and represent the pinnacle of RC car performance tuning.
- Wide Vehicle Compatibility — These bars are designed to fit the entire RC8B3 series platform, including RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.2 and their electric variants (B3e), as well as RC8T3 and RC8T3e models. This broad compatibility means these bars will work with multiple models in your RC collection.
- Essential Suspension Tuning Component — Anti-roll bars are one of the most important suspension adjustment options available to RC racers, allowing you to fine-tune handling without changing springs, dampers or other major components. This makes them an efficient and cost-effective performance upgrade.
Technical Performance
Anti-roll bars (also known as sway bars or anti-sway bars) are critical suspension components that control chassis roll during cornering. The bars are mounted between the left and right wheels and resist the natural body roll that occurs when your RC buggy turns. The thickness of the bar directly affects its stiffness: thinner bars flex more easily and reduce roll stiffness, while thicker bars provide more resistance to roll. This AS81129 set provides three thinner options that are ideal for tracks with lower grip levels. In competitive RC racing UK, understanding anti-roll bar tuning is essential for extracting maximum performance from your vehicle. Thinner bars allow more chassis flex and are better suited to loose, low-traction surfaces where the buggy benefits from softer suspension characteristics. The graduated sizes (2.0mm, 2.1mm and 2.2mm) allow you to make subtle adjustments between sessions, finding the precise sweet spot for your specific track and driving technique. Associated's Factory Team components are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, ensuring consistent performance and longevity even under the demanding conditions of competitive racing. The bars themselves are typically made from high-quality steel or composite materials engineered to provide consistent flex characteristics across thousands of racing cycles without permanent deformation or fatigue.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an anti-roll bar and why do I need one? — An anti-roll bar (also called a sway bar) is a suspension component that controls how much your RC buggy's chassis leans when turning. It connects the left and right suspension and resists body roll, improving cornering stability and steering response. Different thickness bars provide different levels of roll stiffness, making them essential tuning tools for any competitive RC racer.
- What's the difference between thinner and thicker anti-roll bars? — Thinner bars (like the 2.0-2.2mm options in this set) flex more easily and reduce roll stiffness, making them ideal for low to medium grip tracks where the chassis benefits from more compliance. Thicker bars provide greater resistance to roll and are better suited to high-traction surfaces where you want a stiffer, more responsive chassis feel. This set gives you the thinner options; if you need stiffer bars, Associated also manufactures thicker options separately.
- Which bar should I start with? — For most racers, starting with the middle option (2.1mm) is a good baseline, then adjusting up or down based on how the car feels on your specific track. If your buggy feels too loose or rolls excessively in corners, try a thicker bar. If it feels too tight or doesn't have enough grip, try the thinner option.
- Will these bars work with my RC8B3 or RC8B3.1? — Yes, these bars are compatible with RC8B3, RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2 models, as well as their electric variants and the RC8T3 and RC8T3e platform. Check the specific compatibility list to confirm your exact model, though all RC8B3 series vehicles should accept these components without modification.
- How often do I need to replace anti-roll bars? — Anti-roll bars are durable components that rarely need replacement unless they become bent or permanently deformed from impact. Under normal racing conditions, a quality set like this should last for hundreds of hours of track time. However, having spare bars is essential for competitive racers so you can continue racing while damaged bars are being replaced.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — While anti-roll bar tuning is an intermediate-to-advanced skill, this product is suitable for any RC8B3 owner looking to improve their vehicle's performance. Beginners may want to start with the middle thickness (2.1mm) and make small adjustments as they gain experience reading how the vehicle responds to different setups.
- What makes Associated Factory Team components special? — Factory Team products are engineered and tested to the standards used in professional competitive RC racing. They feature tighter tolerances, higher-quality materials and more rigorous quality control than standard components, making them the choice of serious racers worldwide who demand maximum performance and reliability.
