Technical Performance
The Associated RC8B3 Brake Pad Spring is engineered with precision to maintain consistent spring tension within the brake assembly. This component plays a vital role in the mechanical operation of your RC buggy's braking system, working in conjunction with the brake pads and caliper mechanism to provide predictable, reliable stopping power. The spring maintains proper pad alignment and pressure, ensuring even contact with the brake rotor for balanced deceleration. Built to Associated's rigorous manufacturing standards, this spring is manufactured from durable materials selected to withstand the repeated compression and extension cycles experienced during typical RC racing and bashing. The precise spring rate has been calibrated to work harmoniously with the RC8B3 platform's brake geometry and vehicle dynamics. For competitive racers running 1/10 scale RC buggies, brake system reliability is absolutely critical — a failed spring could result in brake fade, inconsistent stopping distances, or complete brake failure at a crucial moment. By using genuine Associated parts, you're ensuring that every component of your braking system is working together as an integrated whole, optimising stopping power and safety. Regular maintenance and spring replacement help maintain your RC car UK's performance levels and protect your investment in quality racing equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the RC8B3 Brake Pad Spring AS81038 compatible with my Associated RC buggy? — This spring is designed for the RC8B3, RC8B3.1, and RC8B3.2 models, and is also compatible with RC8T3, RC8T3.1, RC8B3.2, RC8T3.2, RC8T3.2e, RC8B4, RC8T4, and RC8B4.1. We recommend checking your vehicle manual or parts list to confirm the correct placement within your specific brake system, as different models may have slightly different assembly configurations.
- How often should I replace the brake pad spring? — Springs can lose tension over time with regular use, or become damaged if your RC buggy experiences impacts or crashes. It's good practice to inspect your brake springs during routine maintenance and replace them if you notice reduced brake responsiveness, uneven pad wear, or visible damage. For competitive racers, having spare springs on hand is essential for quick repairs between races.
- What should I do if my brakes feel spongy or unresponsive? — A worn or damaged brake spring is one of the most common causes of poor brake feel in RC buggies. If your RC car UK is exhibiting soft brakes or inconsistent stopping power, a brake spring replacement could restore your original braking performance. This is often one of the quickest and most affordable fixes you can make to your brake system.
- Can I buy just the spring, or do I need to replace the entire brake assembly? — One of the advantages of this product is that you can replace just the spring without purchasing an entire brake kit. This makes it an economical solution for maintenance and repair, allowing you to refresh specific components as needed.
- Is this suitable for both racing and recreational use? — Yes, the RC8B3 Brake Pad Spring is used on race-proven Associated platforms and is equally suitable whether you're running competitive track days, casual bashing, or training sessions. Quality braking is essential for any RC enthusiast.
