Technical Performance

The Team Associated DC10 CVA Bone represents precision engineering in a critical drivetrain component. This 49mm bone is manufactured from durable materials selected by Team Associated to withstand the demands of drift driving, including rapid direction changes, sustained cornering loads, and the mechanical stresses inherent in RC car operation. The CVA (Constant Velocity Axle) bone is a fundamental part of the drivetrain system, responsible for transmitting power from the transmission to the wheels whilst accommodating suspension movement and angular changes. A worn or damaged CVA bone can result in vibration, noise, inconsistent handling characteristics, and potential damage to connected components including the transmission and differential. Maintaining this component in excellent condition through periodic replacement of worn parts is therefore essential for maintaining the precision handling and reliable performance that make the DC10 such a capable drift platform. The 49mm specification is engineered to deliver the correct length and geometry for proper driveline articulation without binding or excessive play, critical factors in achieving the smooth, predictable handling that drift enthusiasts demand from their RC cars.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a CVA bone and why do I need to replace it? — A CVA (Constant Velocity Axle) bone is a critical drivetrain component that transmits power from the transmission to the wheels whilst allowing the suspension to move and the wheels to turn. Over time, the bone can wear due to the stresses of driving, particularly in competitive drifting where directional changes and sustained cornering loads are constant. Replacing a worn CVA bone restores smooth drivetrain operation, eliminates vibration and noise, and prevents damage to surrounding components. Team Associated designs this 49mm bone specifically for the DC10 drift car platform.
  • Is this part suitable for my DC10 drift car? — Yes, this CVA bone (part number AS72220) is explicitly designed as a standard fitment component for the Team Associated DC10 drift car. No modifications or adjustments are required for installation on your existing model.
  • How do I know if my CVA bone needs replacing? — Signs of a worn CVA bone include vibration during acceleration or turning, grinding or clicking noises from the drivetrain, inconsistent handling characteristics, or visible play or damage when you inspect the component during maintenance. If you've been using your RC car regularly, periodic replacement of drivetrain wear components as part of routine maintenance helps prevent more serious problems developing.
  • What tools do I need to install this replacement bone? — Installation requirements depend on your specific DC10 configuration and setup. We recommend consulting the Team Associated DC10 instruction manual or visiting the Team Associated website for detailed installation guidance. RC Model Shop's friendly team is also happy to provide advice on fitment and installation — please contact us if you need assistance.
  • Can I use aftermarket CVA bones as an alternative? — Whilst aftermarket options may be available, genuine Team Associated spares are engineered to original specifications and manufactured to exacting quality standards. Using genuine parts helps ensure reliable performance and protects your investment in your RC car.
