Overview
The Team Associated Blue 8-32 Aluminium Locknut (AS6943) is genuine Team Associated hardware engineered for precision RC applications. Whether you're building a custom RC car in the UK or maintaining your existing Team Associated model, these blue aluminium locknuts offer a reliable, lightweight fastening solution with the signature Factory Team finish that enthusiasts trust. The 8-32 thread size makes these versatile enough for countless RC assembly and maintenance tasks across Team Associated's full model range.
RC hobbyists across the UK rely on genuine Team Associated components to ensure their builds maintain factory standards and performance. These locknuts represent the kind of attention to detail that separates professional-grade RC builds from amateur setups. Whether you're a seasoned racer, a weekend basher, or someone building their first RC car from a kit, having the correct hardware makes all the difference when it comes to reliability and longevity of your RC models.
The blue aluminium construction not only looks great alongside other Associated factory team components, but also provides a lightweight alternative to steel fasteners without compromising strength. The locknut design prevents vibration-induced loosening, which is critical in RC applications where constant movement and impact can cause ordinary nuts to work free over time. This is essential hardware for anyone serious about maintaining their RC investment.
Key Features
- 8-32 Thread Size — This standard thread specification is widely used across Team Associated models and components, making these locknuts compatible with numerous RC assembly and upgrade scenarios without requiring custom sizing or modifications.
- Blue Aluminium Construction — The distinctive blue finish is the signature Factory Team colour, allowing you to maintain a cohesive, professional appearance when building or upgrading your RC car with genuine Associated components throughout.
- Locknut Design — The locknut feature prevents fasteners from loosening due to vibration and impact, which is critical in RC applications where constant acceleration, deceleration and terrain contact create constant forces that can cause ordinary nuts to work free.
- Lightweight Aluminium Material — Using aluminium rather than steel reduces overall weight in your RC build without sacrificing strength, which is particularly important when optimising vehicle performance and handling characteristics.
- Genuine Team Associated Hardware — As authentic factory components, these nuts are engineered to exact specifications and quality standards, ensuring compatibility and reliability with your Associated RC models and components.
- Easy Identification — The part number AS6943 is clearly marked, making it simple to identify and order replacements, match with existing hardware, and maintain consistency across your RC collection.
Technical Performance
These Team Associated Blue 8-32 Aluminium Locknuts represent precision engineering in miniature fastener design. The 8-32 thread specification is a standard metric widely adopted throughout the RC industry for medium-duty fastening applications. The aluminium construction provides an optimal balance between weight reduction and structural integrity—critical considerations in competitive RC racing and high-performance builds where every gram affects acceleration, handling and overall vehicle dynamics. The locknut design incorporates features that resist vibration-induced loosening, addressing one of the most common failure points in RC vehicles where constant impacts and continuous motion create forces that gradually work ordinary fasteners loose over months of use. The blue finish is applied to match Team Associated's Factory Team product line, ensuring visual consistency when building or upgrading models. Quality control in manufacturing ensures that thread dimensions are precise, allowing smooth assembly and reliable fastening across multiple applications. Whether you're assembling new components, replacing worn fasteners, or performing routine maintenance on your RC car, these locknuts deliver the dependable performance that serious RC enthusiasts expect from genuine factory components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an 8-32 locknut and why do I need it for my RC car? — An 8-32 locknut is a fastener with an 8-32 thread specification used to secure components in RC applications. The locknut design prevents fasteners from loosening due to vibration and constant movement that occurs when driving RC cars, making it essential for maintaining the integrity of your RC builds and preventing component failure during use.
- Are these locknuts compatible with all Team Associated RC models? — The 8-32 thread size is used across multiple Team Associated models including the SC10, SC10GT, SC10B, SC10.2, B44.1, B44.2, B44.3, B4.1, B4.2, B6, T4.1, T4.2, TC3, TC6, RC10 Classic, RC10GT and RC10 Worlds. However, you should verify that 8-32 fasteners are specified for your particular model before ordering.
- Why choose aluminium locknuts instead of steel? — Aluminium locknuts are significantly lighter than steel alternatives, which helps reduce overall vehicle weight and improve acceleration and handling performance in RC cars. The material still provides excellent strength for fastening applications whilst contributing to better performance characteristics in competitive and recreational RC driving.
- How do locknut designs prevent fasteners from loosening? — Locknuts incorporate a locking mechanism (typically a nylon insert or deformed thread design) that creates additional resistance when the fastener is turned, preventing vibration from gradually unscrewing the nut over time—a critical feature for RC vehicles that experience constant impacts and movement.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, these locknuts are suitable for builders at all experience levels. If you're assembling an RC model from a kit or replacing worn fasteners, these genuine Team Associated components ensure you're using the correct hardware. Beginners should simply verify that 8-32 is the correct size for their specific application before purchasing.
- How do I know if I need 8-32 locknuts for my build? — Check your RC model's assembly instructions or parts list, which will specify the correct fastener sizes required. The part number AS6943 makes it easy to order the exact replacement or upgrade component you need from RC retailers across the UK.
