Overview

The Team Associated Bearings 3/16 X 5/16" Flanged AS6902 represents an essential component for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision and reliability in their builds and maintenance routines. Whether you're operating an RC car, truck, or buggy, these flanged bearings provide the exact fit required for smooth, efficient performance in critical suspension and drivetrain applications. As a genuine Team Associated spare part, the AS6902 is the trusted choice for both experienced racers and hobbyists looking to maintain their vehicles to OEM standards.

Flanged bearings like the AS6902 are fundamental to RC vehicle performance, offering a wider mounting surface compared to standard bearings, which provides enhanced stability and load distribution. This design is particularly valuable when you're upgrading worn components or building a new RC model from scratch. The 3/16 x 5/16 inch dimensions are a popular industry standard, making these bearings compatible with numerous Team Associated vehicles and many other RC cars, trucks, and buggies that specify this size. For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking replacement spares that match factory specifications, the AS6902 delivers the quality and compatibility you need to keep your machines running smoothly.

Buying genuine OEM parts like Team Associated bearings ensures your RC vehicle performs as intended by the engineers who designed it. Inferior bearings can introduce play, noise, and premature wear to your suspension and drive systems, ultimately shortening the lifespan of your investment. The AS6902 is a sensible choice for maintenance, whether you're a casual weekend basher or a serious competitor preparing for the track.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Part — As an authentic OEM component manufactured by Team Associated, these bearings are engineered to the exact specifications required for optimal fit and performance in compatible RC vehicles, giving you confidence that you're installing the correct component.
  • 3/16 x 5/16 Inch Flanged Design — The flanged bearing design features a wider outer surface that distributes load more effectively across the mounting area, reducing stress concentration and extending the working life of both the bearing and the surrounding chassis components.
  • Precision Engineering — These bearings are manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring smooth rotation with minimal friction, which directly translates to faster acceleration, better handling characteristics, and improved battery runtime in your RC vehicle.
  • Broad Compatibility — The 3/16 x 5/16 inch size is a widely used standard in RC vehicles, making the AS6902 suitable for RC cars, trucks, and buggies that accept this popular bearing size, though always verify your specific model's requirements before purchasing.
  • Essential Maintenance Component — Whether you're rebuilding a vehicle after heavy use, replacing worn bearings, or assembling a new build, these spares provide the reliability and fit quality that keeps your RC performing at its best.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated Bearings 3/16 X 5/16" Flanged AS6902 are precision-engineered components built to exacting standards. Flanged bearings serve a critical role in RC vehicle architecture, managing radial loads whilst maintaining smooth, efficient rotation with minimal friction losses. The flanged design provides a larger mounting surface compared to standard open or shielded bearings, which is particularly beneficial in demanding RC applications where consistent performance and component longevity are priorities. The 3/16 inch bore and 5/16 inch outer diameter specification places these in the popular mid-range sizing category used across numerous Team Associated models and compatible platforms. The smooth rolling action these bearings deliver contributes directly to responsive steering input, consistent acceleration, and overall vehicle agility. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK, installing fresh genuine bearings during maintenance routines is a simple yet highly effective way to restore a vehicle to factory condition and eliminate sources of play or drag that accumulate during regular use. These bearings are particularly important in suspension mounting points, servo linkages, and drivetrain applications where precision matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these Team Associated bearings suitable for beginners restoring their first RC vehicle? — Absolutely. These are genuine OEM spares from Team Associated, making them ideal for anyone learning how to maintain and upgrade their RC car. If your model specifies 3/16 x 5/16 inch flanged bearings, these are the correct choice. The straightforward installation process makes them perfect for hobbyists gaining experience with component maintenance and upgrades.
  • What is the difference between flanged and standard bearings? — Flanged bearings have a wider outer flange that distributes loads across a larger surface area, providing greater stability and protection against side loads compared to standard bearings. This makes flanged varieties ideal for suspension mounting points and high-stress applications where durability and precision are essential.
  • Which RC vehicles use 3/16 x 5/16 inch flanged bearings? — The AS6902 is compatible with numerous Team Associated RC models including SC10, SC10 4x4, SC10.2, RC10GT, B6, RC10 Classic, RC10CC Classic Clear, RC10 Kinwald Edition, and RC10GB models, though you should always verify your specific vehicle's requirements before ordering.
  • How often should I replace bearings in my RC vehicle? — Bearing replacement intervals depend on your usage patterns. High-frequency racers and competitive users may replace bearings every few months, whilst casual hobbyists might change them annually or after heavy use. Watch for signs of grinding noise, resistance to rotation, or play when manually spinning your RC vehicle's wheels — these indicate it's time for fresh bearings.
  • Can I use these bearings in vehicles not made by Team Associated? — Potentially, yes, provided your vehicle's specifications call for 3/16 x 5/16 inch flanged bearings. However, always consult your RC vehicle's manual or manufacturer recommendations before purchasing to ensure compatibility and proper fit.
