Overview

The Team Associated FT Hard Anodised Shock Bodies 1.02 (2) AS6436 are genuine replacement shock components designed for serious RC enthusiasts and competitors who demand reliable suspension performance. These hard anodised shock bodies are essential spares for maintaining and rebuilding the suspension systems on Team Associated 1/10 scale RC cars, particularly models such as the SC10 GT2, RC10T4, and RC10T4.1. Whether you're an experienced RC racer looking to refresh your setup or a weekend basher maintaining your pride and joy, these shock bodies provide the robust construction and precision engineering you'd expect from Team Associated's Factory Team components.

Hard anodised aluminium construction ensures exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, making these shock bodies ideal for both indoor carpet racing and outdoor circuit use across the UK. The 1.02-inch stroke specification matches the original equipment on compatible Team Associated vehicles, ensuring perfect fitment and consistent suspension geometry. These replacement shock bodies come complete with collars and O-rings, everything you need for straightforward installation during routine shock maintenance and rebuilds. When wear or damage is noticed on your existing shocks, swapping in these genuine Team Associated components will restore consistent suspension performance and handling characteristics.

For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking reliable spares and upgrades, the AS6436 represents excellent value as a genuine Team Associated part backed by years of racing pedigree. Available from RC Model Shop, these shock bodies are stocked and ready to ship, allowing you to get your RC car back on the track quickly without compromising on quality or performance.

Key Features

  • Hard Anodised Aluminium Construction — The shock bodies are finished with hard anodising, which provides a protective layer that dramatically improves durability and resists corrosion from dirt, moisture and salt. This treatment ensures your shocks maintain their performance characteristics over extended use and withstand the demands of both competitive racing and casual bashing.
  • 1.02-Inch Stroke Specification — These shock bodies feature a 1.02-inch stroke, which is the correct specification for Team Associated models including the SC10 GT2, RC10T4, and RC10T4.1. Choosing the correct stroke size ensures your suspension geometry remains true and your handling characteristics stay consistent with factory specifications.
  • Complete with Collars and O-Rings — Each shock body comes equipped with collars and O-rings, which are critical sealing and positioning components. This means you won't need to source additional hardware separately, making these a true complete replacement solution for shock rebuilds and maintenance.
  • Genuine Team Associated Factory Component — As an officially licensed Team Associated part, these shock bodies are manufactured to the exact same standards used in competition race kits and factory team vehicles. You're getting authentic factory engineering, not inferior aftermarket substitutes.
  • Like-for-Like Replacement — Designed as a direct replacement for worn or damaged shock bodies on compatible vehicles, these components restore original handling and suspension performance. When you notice your shocks have lost responsiveness or you've suffered impact damage, these bodies will bring your setup back to factory spec.
  • Essential Maintenance Component — Whether you're performing routine shock servicing or rebuilding shocks after a hard crash, these shock bodies are a core component you'll need. They house the spring and damping mechanism, making them fundamental to your suspension system's operation.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated FT Hard Anodised Shock Bodies represent precision engineering focused on delivering reliable suspension performance for 1/10 scale RC vehicles. The hard anodisation process creates a surface treatment that goes beyond standard anodising, providing superior hardness and wear resistance whilst maintaining the lightweight properties of aluminium. This is crucial for RC racing applications where suspension components must withstand thousands of compression and extension cycles without degrading, and where even minor wear can affect handling precision. The 1.02-inch stroke dimension is engineered specifically for Team Associated's suspension geometry, ensuring that when combined with appropriate spring rates and damping fluids, your suspension delivers predictable and repeatable performance. The inclusion of collars and O-rings means these components are ready to integrate into your shock assembly without additional sourcing or compatibility concerns. Built from high-quality materials using Team Associated's factory specifications, these shock bodies deliver the dependability expected from a manufacturer with decades of RC racing heritage. Whether you're running on UK club circuits, competing in regional championships, or maintaining your RC car between casual track sessions, these shock bodies will provide the foundation for consistent, predictable suspension behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which Team Associated vehicles are these shock bodies compatible with? — According to the manufacturer specifications, these FT threaded shock bodies with 1.02-inch stroke fit the SC10 GT2, RC10T4, and RC10T4.1. Before purchasing, verify your specific model against this list to ensure compatibility. If you're unsure about your vehicle model, our team at RC Model Shop can help confirm fitment.
  • What does hard anodised mean and why does it matter? — Hard anodisation is a surface treatment process that creates a much harder and more durable oxide layer on aluminium compared to standard anodising. This means your shock bodies resist scratching, corrosion and wear far better, particularly important if you're racing or bashing in wet conditions across the UK. The harder surface also maintains dimensional accuracy longer, which translates to more consistent handling over time.
  • Do I need to buy anything else to use these shock bodies? — These shock bodies come with collars and O-rings, but you'll need to ensure you have compatible shock springs, shock fluid, and shock caps for your vehicle. We recommend consulting your Team Associated vehicle manual or shock assembly guide to confirm what additional components you'll need for a complete rebuild.
  • How often should I replace shock bodies? — Shock bodies typically last a very long time with proper maintenance. However, if you notice leaking fluid, bent bodies, or damage from crashes, replacement is necessary. For racing applications where you're servicing your shocks frequently, you may consider having spare shock bodies on hand so you can swap them out during shock rebuilds whilst you clean and maintain your existing bodies.
  • Are these suitable for beginners? — These are replacement shock bodies, so they're best suited for RC enthusiasts who already have experience maintaining and rebuilding shocks. If you're new to RC and haven't done shock maintenance before, we'd recommend getting guidance from our team or consulting your vehicle manual before attempting a rebuild.
  • What is the difference between these FT bodies and standard shock bodies? — The FT designation indicates these are Factory Team specification components, manufactured to competition-grade standards. The hard anodisation provides superior durability compared to standard finishes. These represent Team Associated's premium shock body offering for serious racers and enthusiasts.
