Overview
The Team Associated Jay Halsey RC10 Front Shock Tower (AS6391) is a genuine factory component designed for the legendary RC10 buggy, one of the most iconic RC cars in history. This front shock tower is an essential spare part for anyone restoring, servicing, or maintaining a classic RC10 Jay Halsey Edition buggy. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast in the UK looking to keep your vintage RC car in pristine condition, or someone building a period-correct replica of Jay Halsey's world championship-winning machine, this front tower provides a secure mounting location for your front shock absorbers whilst preserving the authentic look synonymous with 1985 IFMAR championship-era RC10 models.
The RC10 stands as a pivotal moment in RC off-road racing history. First introduced on 7 December 1984, the All-American designed Team Associated RC10 was the vision of Team Associated's founder Roger Curtis (RC). Just eight months after its release, in July 1985, the legendary RC10 driven by Jammin' Jay Halsey claimed victory as the first IFMAR 2WD Stock World Champion at the inaugural 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championships in Del Mar, California. This victory made the RC10 an absolute legend in RC car history, securing its place as the first 2WD off-road world winner and establishing the benchmark for electric off-road racing performance that would influence the hobby for generations to come.
This front shock tower is part of the complete RC10 Jay Halsey Edition kit released in 2024 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original RC10. The kit faithfully reproduces Jay's world championship-winning car, featuring authentic components and period-correct specifications that made the RC10 a race-winning design. If you're refreshing an older chassis or maintaining a vintage RC10 project, the AS6391 front shock tower helps keep your suspension action tidy whilst ensuring your build remains true to the original specification.

Technical Performance
The RC10 platform is renowned for its precision engineering and innovative design that revolutionised electric off-road racing. The front shock tower plays a critical role in the RC10's famous fully adjustable suspension system, which features A-Arm and Ball joint design that permits static camber, camber rise, caster, ride height and spring rate tuning to suit every type of track. The RC10's overall chassis construction features a rigid aluminium monocoque tub with fully adjustable suspension, delivering exceptional ground clearance and durability. The use of G10 composite material for the front shock tower ensures excellent stiffness whilst keeping weight minimal, contributing to the responsive handling characteristics that made the RC10 legendary among 2WD off-road racing enthusiasts. The independent suspension with coil-over shocks works in conjunction with this front tower to provide smooth suspension action across bumpy terrain, whilst the precision moulded nylon suspension components can be easily custom colour dyed to suit your preferences. This front shock tower is compatible with 6-cell NiMH and 2S LiPo battery packs that power the RC10 Classic, making it suitable for various power configurations available to RC car UK hobbyists.
