Overview

The Team Associated Pan Car .014 Front Springs (2) AS4118 are precision suspension components designed specifically for pan car RC applications. These springs provide an essential upgrade or replacement option for serious RC car enthusiasts in the UK who demand consistent performance and reliable handling characteristics. Whether you're refreshing worn hardware after extensive track use or fine-tuning your setup for specific racing conditions, these front springs deliver the precision adjustment you need without unnecessary complexity.

Pan car racing has become increasingly popular across the UK RC hobby scene, and proper suspension tuning is absolutely critical for competitive performance. The .014 spring rate offers a straightforward way to adjust front suspension behaviour, allowing drivers to refine steering response and balance their vehicles to suit their individual driving style and preferred track conditions. These springs are supplied as a pair, ensuring you have everything needed for a complete front suspension refresh or setup adjustment on your pan car.

As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine OEM parts that meet the manufacturer's exacting standards. When you choose these front springs, you're investing in quality components that will keep your pan car performing at its best, whether you're preparing for club racing, weekend bashers, or competitive events across the UK RC car scene.

Key Features

  • Matched Pair Supply — These springs are supplied as a set of two identical units, ensuring balanced front-end geometry and consistent handling characteristics across both sides of your pan car's front suspension without the need for separate purchases.
  • .014 Spring Rate Specification — The .014 rating provides the precise spring stiffness needed for pan car applications, offering a balanced compromise between responsive steering and chassis stability that suits a wide range of driving styles and track surfaces.
  • Easy Setup Adjustments — By swapping spring rates, you can quickly modify your pan car's front-end behaviour without complex mechanical changes, making these springs an ideal choice for drivers who like to experiment with different setup configurations between races.
  • Suspension Refinement Tool — Use these springs to adjust how your pan car responds to cornering loads, acceleration, and braking, allowing you to fine-tune your vehicle's handling balance for maximum performance in competitive racing situations.
  • Maintenance and Repair Component — Whether replacing aged or damaged springs or simply rotating components as part of regular maintenance, these OEM Team Associated springs ensure your pan car remains in peak condition for consistent, predictable on-track performance.
  • Pan Car Specific Design — These springs are engineered specifically for pan car suspension geometry and loads, ensuring perfect compatibility and optimal performance characteristics compared to generic spring options.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated Pan Car .014 Front Springs are engineered to precise manufacturing tolerances that ensure consistent spring rates and load characteristics. The .014 specification refers to the spring's stiffness rating, a critical parameter in suspension tuning that directly influences how your pan car responds to track inputs. Softer springs provide more comfort and grip on bumpy surfaces, while stiffer springs enhance responsiveness and reduce body roll during aggressive cornering. The .014 rating sits in the moderate range, making these springs suitable for general-purpose pan car racing where drivers need a balanced setup that works across varying track conditions.

Built to Team Associated's recognised standards for quality and reliability, these springs are manufactured from high-quality spring steel with precise winding to ensure consistent performance throughout their operational life. The component undergoes quality control testing to verify spring rates and durability, meaning you can rely on these springs maintaining their characteristics across numerous race sessions and practice runs. Whether you're competing in UK pan car championships, participating in regional club events, or simply enjoying recreational RC car driving, these springs will provide the suspension consistency you need for predictable and repeatable handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What exactly does the .014 spring rate mean for my pan car setup? — The .014 specification indicates the spring's stiffness or rate, measured in pounds of force per inch of compression. This moderate rate is designed specifically for pan car suspension geometry and provides a balanced handling characteristic suitable for most drivers and track conditions. Lower numbers indicate softer springs that provide more suspension compliance, while higher numbers indicate stiffer springs that reduce body roll but may sacrifice grip on uneven surfaces. The .014 rate offers an excellent middle ground for general pan car racing across the UK.
  • How do I know when to replace my pan car front springs? — Springs should be replaced when they become visibly damaged, lose their tension, or when your pan car's handling becomes inconsistent compared to previous sessions. As part of regular maintenance, many competitive drivers replace springs every 10-15 racing hours to maintain peak performance characteristics. These Team Associated springs are the ideal replacement choice, offering OEM quality and guaranteed compatibility with your pan car.
  • Can I use different spring rates for tuning my pan car? — Absolutely. Team Associated produces springs in various rates (.012, .013, .014, .015 and beyond), allowing drivers to systematically tune their pan car's suspension response. Softer springs increase grip and compliance but may increase body roll, whilst stiffer springs reduce body movement but might reduce traction on bumpy tracks. Many competitive drivers keep several different spring rates in their pit kit, allowing quick setup adjustments between heats or to adapt to changing track conditions throughout a race day.
  • Are these springs suitable for beginners new to RC pan cars? — Yes, these springs are perfectly suited for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels. The .014 rate is a popular general-purpose choice that works well across different driving styles and track conditions, making it an excellent starting point for drivers new to pan car racing. As you gain experience and understand how suspension tuning affects your vehicle's performance, you can experiment with softer or stiffer rates to further optimise your setup.
  • What's the difference between Team Associated pan car springs and other brands? — Team Associated springs are original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts engineered to precise specifications for their pan car platforms. OEM springs guarantee perfect fitment and performance characteristics, whereas aftermarket alternatives may vary in quality and consistency. Choosing genuine Team Associated springs ensures your pan car receives the exact suspension behaviour the platform was designed to deliver.
  • How long will these front springs last before needing replacement? — With normal use, a pair of springs typically lasts 10-20 race sessions before requiring replacement. Heavy track use, impacts, or environmental factors may reduce their lifespan. Regular inspection of your springs ensures you catch any damage early and maintain consistent suspension performance throughout the racing season.
