Overview
The Team Associated FT HD Titanium Ballstuds Short 8mm (AS32097) represent a premium upgrade for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand the very best performance from their RC cars. Whether you're running a Team Associated TC8 or another compatible RC model, these Factory Team heavy-duty titanium ballstuds deliver the precision, durability and weight savings that serious RC hobbyists expect. These short 8mm ballstuds are engineered specifically for critical linkage points in your RC vehicle, where accuracy and reliability directly impact handling, steering response and suspension performance.
As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop proudly stocks genuine FT HD components that reflect the engineering excellence Team Associated is known for worldwide. If you're building or upgrading an RC buggy, truck or competition vehicle, titanium ballstuds represent a straightforward but meaningful step up from standard steel hardware. The combination of strength, corrosion resistance and reduced weight makes these ballstuds an ideal choice for both weekend bashers and competitive racers who want their RC car to perform at its peak.
These ballstuds are specifically designed as a Factory Team component, meaning they're manufactured to the exact tolerances and quality standards that Team Associated engineers demand for their own competition builds. The 8mm short size is the correct specification for numerous Team Associated models, making these ballstuds a direct, no-fuss replacement whenever your vehicle manual specifies a short 8mm ballstud.
Key Features
- Heavy-duty titanium construction — Unlike standard steel ballstuds, these components are machined from premium titanium alloy, which offers exceptional strength whilst weighing significantly less than conventional materials, helping you maintain a lower centre of gravity and improve overall RC car responsiveness.
- Factory Team specification — These are genuine Team Associated FT HD components, engineered to the same tolerances and quality standards used in Team Associated's own competition and race builds, ensuring you're getting professional-grade hardware.
- Excellent strength-to-weight ratio — Titanium's inherent properties mean you get maximum durability without the weight penalty, which is crucial for maintaining accurate suspension geometry and reducing unsprung mass in your RC vehicle.
- Superior corrosion resistance — Titanium naturally resists oxidation and corrosion far better than steel, meaning these ballstuds will maintain their performance and appearance even with regular use in wet conditions or damp UK weather.
- Compact 8mm short size — Specifically dimensioned for tight fitment in suspension and steering assemblies where space is at a premium, these short ballstuds help maintain proper geometry without requiring modifications to your linkage points.
- Slop-free movement — The precision-machined titanium construction ensures minimal play at critical suspension and steering pivot points, translating to sharper handling feedback and more predictable RC car behaviour on track or trail.
- Direct replacement upgrade — Simply use these ballstuds wherever your Team Associated vehicle manual specifies a short 8mm ballstud, with no modifications or additional engineering required.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated FT HD Titanium Ballstuds Short 8mm represent a masterclass in materials engineering for precision RC hardware. Machined from aerospace-grade titanium alloy, these components deliver the kind of strength traditionally associated with heavy-duty steel hardware whilst reducing weight to a fraction of conventional ballstuds. This matters significantly in RC car dynamics — every gram of unsprung mass you save at suspension pivot points improves wheel control, reduces squat and dive under acceleration and braking, and enhances overall handling precision. The 8mm dimension is the factory-standard short length for numerous Team Associated models, particularly the TC8 platform and related vehicles. The precision manufacturing ensures that ball-socket engagement is consistently tight across all units, eliminating the slop and play that develops in lower-quality ballstuds over time. The superior corrosion resistance of titanium means these components maintain their performance integrity through countless runs in the UK's variable weather conditions — whether you're racing in morning dew or afternoon rain, titanium naturally shrugs off oxidation that would gradually degrade steel alternatives. For RC enthusiasts who recognise that suspension and steering accuracy directly determines lap times and handling consistency, upgrading to titanium ballstuds is a worthwhile investment that delivers tangible performance improvements without the complexity of major chassis modifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these titanium ballstuds suitable for all Team Associated RC models? — These are specifically the short 8mm size, so you should verify your vehicle manual to confirm it calls for short 8mm ballstuds rather than a different length or size. Team Associated's TC8 platform and numerous other models use this size, but always double-check your specific model's parts list before ordering.
- What's the advantage of titanium over standard steel ballstuds? — Titanium offers three major advantages: significantly reduced weight for improved handling and suspension response, exceptional strength that outlasts steel in high-stress applications, and superior corrosion resistance that keeps your ballstuds performing reliably in wet UK conditions without degradation over time.
- How many ballstuds are included in this pack? — The product listing identifies this as the ballstud component itself; confirm the exact quantity with RC Model Shop before ordering to ensure you're receiving the correct number of pieces for your upgrade project.
- Can I use these as a direct replacement for my current ballstuds? — Yes, these short 8mm titanium ballstuds are designed as a direct upgrade replacement wherever your RC car manual specifies a short 8mm ballstud, with no modifications required to your suspension or steering assembly.
- Why would I upgrade to titanium ballstuds for my RC car? — Competitive RC enthusiasts upgrade to titanium ballstuds to reduce unsprung mass (improving handling precision), eliminate slop at critical pivot points (sharpening steering response), and gain corrosion resistance (extending component lifespan in wet conditions). For serious RC racers in the UK, these advantages translate to better lap times and more reliable performance.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic Factory Team AS32097 components, manufactured to Team Associated's competition standards and distributed through authorised UK retailers like RC Model Shop.
