Overview
The Team Associated FT HD Titanium Ballstuds Short, 4mm (AS32095) represent a premium hardware upgrade for serious RC enthusiasts and racers across the UK. These high-quality ballstuds combine the renowned Factory Team heavy-duty design philosophy with titanium construction, delivering a solution that prioritises both strength and minimal weight addition to your RC car setup. Whether you're building a competition-grade RC buggy, tuning a race truck, or upgrading a performance RC car in the UK, these ballstuds offer the precision and durability that discerning builders demand.
Ballstuds are critical components in any RC suspension and linkage system, and choosing the right specification makes a measurable difference to handling precision, geometry accuracy, and overall performance. The 4mm ball size and short profile design make these ballstuds ideal for compact installations where tight tolerances and smooth articulation are essential to achieving optimal setup geometry. This is why they are a popular choice amongst racers and enthusiasts who seek durability combined with minimal weight addition—every gram counts in competitive RC racing and performance building.
As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop supplies genuine Factory Team components with full confidence in their quality and authenticity. If you're upgrading your RC car setup with titanium ballstuds or building a new competition machine from the ground up, these AS32095 ballstuds represent a sensible investment in performance and longevity.
Key Features
- Titanium Construction — Manufactured from titanium rather than standard steel or aluminium, these ballstuds offer exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, meaning you gain durability without the penalty of added weight that would affect handling and acceleration in your RC car.
- Factory Team Heavy-Duty Design — Team Associated's Factory Team range represents the pinnacle of performance engineering, and these ballstuds embody that philosophy with reinforced design elements that resist wear and fatigue even under intense racing conditions or frequent bashing.
- 4mm Ball Size — The 4mm specification is a standard competition size that offers excellent compatibility with widely available ballcup components across RC buggies, trucks and other vehicles, ensuring you can source matching parts easily.
- Short Profile — The compact short profile makes these ballstuds ideal for space-constrained installations where clearance is limited, particularly in tight suspension geometry setups or when using alternative chassis designs that require minimal protrusion.
- Precise Linkage Setup — Ballstuds are fundamental to accurate suspension geometry, and these precision-engineered components ensure smooth articulation without binding, flex or play, which is critical for consistent handling and predictable RC car behaviour on track.
- Lightweight Solution — Titanium's superior strength-to-weight ratio means these ballstuds contribute minimal mass to your build whilst maintaining the structural integrity needed for high-performance racing and aggressive driving.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated FT HD Titanium Ballstuds Short represent genuine performance engineering. Titanium is widely recognised in motorsport and RC racing as a premium material choice because it offers significantly greater strength than standard steel whilst weighing approximately 45% less, making it ideal for weight-sensitive competition builds. The 4mm ball specification is standard across modern RC buggies, trucks and competition vehicles, ensuring broad compatibility with ballcup components from Associated and most major RC manufacturers. The short profile design is specifically engineered for applications where chassis geometry demands compact hardware, such as front anti-roll bar linkages, suspension geometry adjusters, and tight suspension pivots. The Factory Team heavy-duty designation indicates these ballstuds are manufactured to tighter tolerances than standard components, with reinforced ball geometry and hardened threads designed to withstand the punishment of high-speed racing, competitive events, and prolonged use without degradation. In practical terms, upgrading to titanium ballstuds will reduce unsprung weight, improve suspension articulation responsiveness, and contribute to more predictable handling characteristics—particularly noticeable in precision-demanding competition environments where marginal gains accumulate to measurable performance improvements. These are not cosmetic upgrades; they are genuine performance components trusted by Team Associated factory racing drivers and serious competitors across the UK and internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these titanium ballstuds compatible with my RC car? — The 4mm ball size is a standard specification across most modern RC buggies, trucks and competition vehicles from manufacturers including Team Associated, TLR Racing, Losi and others. However, you should verify that your chassis uses 4mm ballcups; some vintage or specialised builds may use different sizes. If you're unsure, contact our team at RC Model Shop and we can confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle.
- Why choose titanium ballstuds instead of standard steel? — Titanium offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to steel or aluminium alternatives. This means you gain exceptional durability and resistance to wear without adding measurable mass to your RC car, which is particularly important in competition racing where every gram affects acceleration, braking and handling. Titanium also resists corrosion better than steel, making it a long-term investment in durability.
- What is the difference between short and standard profile ballstuds? — The short profile design features a more compact overall length, making these ballstuds ideal for tight suspension geometry setups, space-constrained chassis designs, and specific linkage applications where standard-length ballstuds would interfere with other components. Choose short profile if your setup specifies short ballstuds; choosing incorrectly will result in incorrect geometry.
- Are these ballstuds suitable for beginners? — These are genuine performance components designed for experienced builders and racers who understand RC suspension geometry and setup precision. Beginners should ensure they understand correct ballstud installation, threadlock application, and geometry requirements before purchasing. If you're new to RC car setup, we recommend consulting our experienced team at RC Model Shop for guidance.
- How do I install these ballstuds? — Ballstuds screw directly into ballcups and are secured with threadlock compound (we recommend medium-strength Loctite or equivalent). Ensure you apply appropriate torque—snug but not over-tightened—to avoid stripping the delicate threads. Refer to your vehicle manual for specific installation guidelines for your chassis.
- What maintenance do these ballstuds require? — Titanium ballstuds are extremely low-maintenance. Periodically check that ballstuds remain firmly seated in their ballcups and that threadlock hasn't loosened due to vibration. Replace if you notice any visible damage, cracks, or stripped threads. Avoid immersing in water repeatedly as this can eventually corrode the threads over extended periods.
