Overview

The Team Associated LP Springs Blue 16.5 lb/in (AS32053) represent precision-engineered suspension components designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand consistency and repeatability in their setup tuning. Whether you're competing in organised races, enjoying weekend bashing sessions, or fine-tuning your RC car UK performance, these springs provide the exact spring rate specification needed to dial in your suspension geometry with confidence. The blue colour designation indicates the 16.5 lb/in spring rate, following Team Associated's recognised colour-coding system that makes identification quick and straightforward during setup changes.

LP springs are fundamental to achieving balanced handling characteristics across different track conditions and driving styles. For anyone serious about RC performance—from clubhouse racers to dedicated hobbyists—spring rate selection is one of the most critical tuning adjustments available. These Team Associated LP springs support consistent, repeatable setup changes whether you are chasing more grip through weight transfer adjustment, fine-tuning ride height for different terrains, or refining overall handling balance. The specification markings L17, 4.75T, and 1.3D ensure compatibility with Team Associated chassis systems and provide a reference point for accurate record-keeping during your development process.

RC Model Shop stocks genuine Team Associated spares and upgrades for serious enthusiasts across the UK. As an authorised Team Associated retailer, we understand that quality suspension components are not optional extras—they are essential elements of competitive RC setup. These LP springs represent excellent value for drivers looking to expand their suspension tuning range without compromise on quality or accuracy.

Key Features

  • Precise 16.5 lb/in Spring Rate — This specific spring rate provides a mid-range stiffness suitable for many track conditions and driving styles, allowing you to dial in handling balance with precision rather than guesswork. The measurable lb/in rating means you can record your settings accurately and replicate winning setups consistently.
  • Blue Colour Identification — Team Associated uses colour coding to denote spring rates, making the 16.5 lb/in rate instantly recognisable during setup work. This speeds up preparation time and eliminates the risk of installing incorrect spring rates by mistake during pressure-packed race days.
  • Specification Markings L17, 4.75T, 1.3D — These markings follow manufacturer specifications and ensure compatibility with Team Associated LP suspension systems. The dimensional and material specifications encoded in these designations guarantee that these springs will integrate seamlessly with your existing Team Associated chassis and deliver predictable performance.
  • Consistent Performance Across Sessions — Quality springs maintain their rate consistency through multiple use cycles, meaning your setup will remain stable session after session. This consistency is crucial for building confidence in your driving and identifying genuine performance gains rather than chasing variables caused by worn components.
  • Ideal for Suspension Tuning — Whether you need to adjust ride height, modify weight transfer characteristics, or experiment with different spring rates to find your optimal setup, these LP springs provide a reliable platform for methodical tuning work. Spring rate changes are one of the most effective ways to alter handling without major chassis modifications.
  • Genuine Team Associated Product — As an authorised dealer, RC Model Shop supplies only genuine Team Associated components. Counterfeit suspension parts may look similar but often fail to maintain consistent spring rates, leading to unpredictable handling and potential breakage during racing.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated LP Springs Blue 16.5 lb/in represent precision suspension engineering designed to work within Team Associated's proven suspension architecture. These springs are manufactured to exacting standards to maintain consistent spring rate throughout their operational life, delivering the 16.5 lb/in specification with accuracy that allows drivers to rely on their setup notes and build competitive setups with confidence. The material composition and construction method ensure that spring rate remains stable across temperature ranges and usage cycles typical of RC racing in the UK climate. These springs work in harmony with Team Associated shock systems and suspension geometry to allow fine adjustment of overall ride stiffness, affecting both grip development during acceleration phases and stability during cornering. The L17, 4.75T, and 1.3D specifications indicate compatibility with specific Team Associated platforms, and the springs integrate seamlessly into standard Team Associated suspension systems. For drivers working on 1/10 scale off-road vehicles or touring cars, spring rate selection is one of the most accessible yet impactful tuning adjustments available—stiffer springs increase ride height and reduce grip, whilst softer springs increase compliance and weight transfer but may allow excessive movement. These 16.5 lb/in springs occupy a mid-range position in the stiffness spectrum, making them suitable for general-purpose tuning work across varying track conditions and driving techniques.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What spring rate do I need for my RC car? — Spring rate selection depends on multiple factors including track surface, ambient temperature, vehicle weight distribution, driving style, and desired handling characteristics. Many drivers maintain multiple spring rates (typically ranging from around 12 to 20 lb/in) to suit different conditions. The 16.5 lb/in rate offered here represents a mid-range option suitable for general-purpose tuning. Consult your Team Associated chassis manual or contact our knowledgeable team for specific recommendations based on your particular setup and local track conditions.
  • Are these springs suitable for beginners? — Yes, these springs are suitable for drivers at all experience levels. Beginners benefit from starting with mid-range spring rates like this 16.5 lb/in specification, as they provide balanced handling that helps develop driving skills without extreme behaviour. As experience grows, drivers can experiment with stiffer or softer rates to fine-tune performance. These springs are also ideal for intermediate drivers looking to expand their tuning toolkit and understand how suspension adjustments affect handling.
  • How do I know if I need stiffer or softer springs? — If your vehicle sits too low or feels overly soft during cornering, stiffer springs may improve performance. If your vehicle bounces excessively or feels disconnected from the track, softer springs may help. The 16.5 lb/in rate provides a good starting point for experimentation. Most drivers keep multiple spring rates available to quickly test different setups during practice sessions.
  • Will these springs work with my Team Associated chassis? — These LP springs are designed specifically for Team Associated suspension systems and feature specifications (L17, 4.75T, 1.3D) that ensure compatibility with Team Associated platforms. If you own a Team Associated 1/10 off-road buggy, touring car, or compatible vehicle, these springs will integrate directly into your existing suspension without modification. If you use a different brand chassis, compatibility is not guaranteed—contact our team before purchase to confirm suitability.
  • How often should I replace my RC springs? — Quality springs like these Team Associated components maintain their rate specifications through many usage cycles. Replacement becomes necessary only when springs show visible damage, lose their shape, or no longer return to their original length after compression. Under normal use, these springs should provide extended service life. Inspect springs regularly during maintenance and replace them if you notice any deformation or loss of tension.
  • What is the difference between LP springs and other spring types? — LP springs represent Team Associated's standard spring design for their suspension systems. The terminology indicates specific dimensional and material specifications that ensure compatibility within Team Associated's ecosystem. Other spring types may feature different geometry, materials, or damping characteristics. For Team Associated vehicles, LP springs are the correct choice for reliable, predictable performance.
