Overview
The Team Associated TC8 Shock Shafts (AS32017) are precision-engineered replacement components designed specifically for the Team Associated TC8 platform, one of the most respected names in competitive RC car racing in the UK. Whether you're a seasoned RC racer, a weekend competitor, or someone who takes their RC car hobby seriously, these shock shafts are essential maintenance items that keep your suspension working at peak performance. As an authorised Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Team Associated spares to help you maintain your investment and keep your RC car performing consistently on track.
Shock shafts are critical suspension components that directly affect your RC car's handling, damping consistency, and overall performance. Over time, through intensive use, racing, or general wear, shock shafts can become worn, bent, or damaged, leading to unpredictable suspension behaviour and compromised vehicle control. The AS32017 shock shafts provide a straightforward, reliable solution for routine maintenance, mid-season rebuilds, or emergency trackside repairs. By keeping spare shock shafts in your pit box, you can minimise downtime at the track and ensure your TC8 is always ready to perform at its best across race days and practice sessions.
These are standard fitment components for the TC8 platform, making them a direct replacement option that requires no modification or additional setup. If you're running a Team Associated TC8 for competition or recreational racing, having quality replacement shock shafts on hand is simply good practice that every serious TC8 owner should consider.

Technical Performance
Shock shafts are precision-engineered components that form the core of your RC car's suspension system, working in conjunction with shock bodies, springs, and fluid to absorb impacts and control vehicle movement. The Team Associated TC8 Shock Shafts (AS32017) are manufactured to the exact specifications required by the TC8 platform, a highly respected 1/10-scale touring car platform used extensively in RC racing across the UK and internationally. These shafts are made from quality materials selected to withstand the demanding conditions of competitive racing, including high-speed cornering, acceleration, braking, and track impacts. The precision fitment ensures smooth damper action and reliable suspension geometry, which directly translates to improved handling, better traction, and more predictable vehicle control during driving. Whether you're running your TC8 on carpet tracks, asphalt surfaces, or outdoor clay circuits, fresh shock shafts maintain the suspension's ability to respond consistently to track conditions. The standard fitment design means these shafts integrate seamlessly with your existing TC8 setup, requiring no special tools or expertise beyond basic RC car maintenance knowledge. For competitive racers, maintaining suspension components in peak condition is not optional—it's a fundamental requirement for consistent performance, reliable lap times, and race-day reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the purpose of shock shafts in an RC car? — Shock shafts are the core internal components of your suspension system that work with springs and damping fluid to absorb impacts, control vehicle height, and manage suspension movement. Worn or damaged shafts cause inconsistent damping and unpredictable handling, making fresh shafts essential for maintaining performance and consistency.
- Are these shafts compatible with my Team Associated TC8? — Yes, these AS32017 shock shafts are designated as standard fitment components for the Team Associated TC8 platform. They are direct replacements designed to fit and function exactly with your TC8 without modification.
- How often should I replace shock shafts on my TC8? — Shock shafts should be inspected regularly for wear, bending, or damage, particularly if you race frequently or use your TC8 intensively. Many competitive racers keep spare shock shafts on hand and replace them proactively during rebuilds or when performance becomes inconsistent. If you notice unpredictable handling or soft suspension response, worn shafts may be the culprit.
- Can I install these shafts myself? — Yes, shock shaft replacement is a straightforward maintenance task suitable for anyone with basic RC car knowledge. You'll typically need to disassemble your shock bodies, remove the old shafts, and install the new ones, ensuring they're properly seated. However, if you're not comfortable doing this yourself, our team at RC Model Shop can offer guidance or you might consider having a local RC specialist perform the work.
- Why buy from RC Model Shop? — We are an authorised Team Associated dealer stocking genuine parts with expert knowledge. Our experienced RC team can help you understand your TC8's suspension needs and provide ongoing support for your racing setup.
