This is not a compromise part—it's the real thing, designed and manufactured to the exact specifications your Apex 2 demands.
Key Features
- Genuine Team Associated Original Equipment — These are authentic factory parts, not aftermarket alternatives, which means they deliver the exact performance characteristics and tolerances that Team Associated engineers designed into your Apex 2, ensuring compatibility and reliability you can trust.
- Designed for Smooth Damper Performance — The shock components work together to maintain consistent suspension action and smooth damping characteristics, which directly translates to improved handling precision and more predictable on-road performance during competitive driving or casual runs.
- Reduces Leaks and Maintains Suspension Integrity — Regular servicing with these quality components helps prevent hydraulic fluid leakage from your shocks, which can severely degrade damping performance and lead to unpredictable handling behaviour and suspension geometry changes during cornering.
- Improves Handling Consistency — By keeping your shocks in pristine condition through regular maintenance, you'll experience more consistent lap times, better weight transfer characteristics, and more predictable cornering performance, which is essential for competitive RC car UK racing.
- Factory Fit and Function Assured — As original Associated spares, these components are guaranteed to fit correctly and function as Team Associated intended, eliminating the guesswork and compatibility concerns that sometimes come with third-party alternatives.
- Essential Maintenance Component — Whether you're replacing worn seals, refreshing worn internal components, or performing routine preventative maintenance, these shock components are the correct choice for keeping your Apex 2 performing at its best.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated Apex 2 Shock Components represent precision engineering designed for the demanding world of on-road RC car racing. Shock servicing is critical to maintaining optimal vehicle performance, as suspension components are subject to continuous stress during cornering, acceleration, and braking cycles. The internal seals and damping elements within your shocks gradually wear over time, leading to fluid leakage and reduced damping effectiveness. These genuine components restore your shock absorbers to their original specification, ensuring that your Apex 2's suspension geometry and weight transfer characteristics remain consistent throughout a race or driving session. The quality of manufacturing in these components directly impacts your vehicle's handling precision, cornering grip, and overall on-road performance. By maintaining your shocks with factory-original parts, you preserve the engineering integrity that Team Associated built into the Apex 2 platform, ensuring that your RC car UK setup performs predictably and reliably across a variety of track conditions and driving scenarios. Regular shock maintenance extends the lifespan of your suspension components, reduces the risk of catastrophic failure, and ensures that your vehicle's handling characteristics remain true to the manufacturer's design specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What shock components does the AS31864 contain? — The AS31864 is a shock component set designed specifically for the Team Associated Apex 2. These are genuine factory parts that restore proper shock function and damping performance. The exact internal components included are best confirmed by consulting your Apex 2 vehicle manual and the part number to ensure complete compatibility with your specific model variant.
- How often should I service my Apex 2 shocks? — Regular shock servicing improves handling and consistency by reducing leaks and maintaining smooth suspension action. The frequency depends on your driving intensity and track conditions, but many serious RC racers service their shocks after every few races or every 10-15 hours of driving to maintain peak performance.
- Will these shock components fit my Apex 2? — Yes, these are genuine Team Associated parts designed specifically for the Apex 2. However, we recommend referring to your vehicle manual and confirming the AS31864 part number matches your specific Apex 2 variant before ordering to ensure complete compatibility.
- What happens if I don't service my shocks regularly? — Without regular maintenance, shock seals can deteriorate and allow hydraulic fluid to leak out, which severely compromises damping performance and leads to unpredictable handling, inconsistent lap times, and potential suspension geometry changes during cornering. Regular servicing with quality components prevents these issues and maintains your vehicle's performance consistency.
- Are these shock components suitable for both racing and casual driving? — Yes, these components are essential maintenance items for any Apex 2 owner, whether you're competing seriously or enjoying casual on-road driving. Maintaining your shocks keeps your RC car UK investment performing reliably and predictably regardless of how you use it.
- How do I know if my shocks need servicing? — Signs of shock wear include visible fluid leakage, softer or less responsive damping feel, inconsistent handling characteristics from one corner to the next, or performance degradation as your shocks warm up during driving. If you notice any of these symptoms, servicing with these components is recommended.
