Overview

The Team Associated TC7 Shock Rebuild Kit AS31693 is an essential maintenance and upgrade component for serious RC enthusiasts who demand peak performance from their Team Associated TC7 platform. Whether you're a dedicated racer, weekend basher, or collector of quality RC cars in the UK, maintaining your shock absorbers in optimal condition is crucial for consistent handling, predictable suspension response, and longevity of your investment. This genuine Team Associated spare part ensures that your RC car UK setup remains competitive and reliable, whether you're competing at your local track or enjoying casual backyard driving.

Shock rebuilds are a fundamental aspect of RC car maintenance that many enthusiasts overlook until performance begins to suffer. Over time, shock oil can become contaminated, seals wear out, and internal components deteriorate from the constant compression and extension cycles that occur during use. The TC7 platform has earned a reputation as one of the finest 1/10 scale touring car chassis available, and it deserves components that match that quality standard. This shock rebuild kit provides everything needed to restore your shocks to factory condition, ensuring that your TC7 performs exactly as Team Associated engineers intended.

From competitive racers who depend on their RC car for tournament success to enthusiasts who simply want their prized possession to perform at its best, the TC7 Shock Rebuild Kit is the smart choice for anyone serious about their RC hobby. Using genuine Team Associated parts guarantees compatibility, quality, and the exact performance characteristics your TC7 was designed to deliver.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Component — This is an original manufacturer spare part designed specifically for the TC7 chassis, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your existing suspension setup without any guesswork or compatibility concerns.
  • Complete Rebuild Solution — The kit contains all the necessary components required to perform a full shock rebuild, allowing you to restore your suspension to like-new condition rather than purchasing expensive replacement shocks outright.
  • Professional-Grade Materials — Team Associated manufactures their shock components to exacting standards, using materials and tolerances that ensure consistent performance and durability through countless suspension cycles.
  • Cost-Effective Maintenance — Rebuilding existing shocks is significantly more economical than replacing complete shock assemblies, making this kit an intelligent investment for budget-conscious RC enthusiasts who want to maintain their equipment properly.
  • Improved Performance Consistency — Fresh seals, new oils, and restored internal components eliminate the performance degradation that comes with worn shocks, restoring the responsive handling and predictable suspension behaviour your TC7 is known for.
  • Extended Shock Life — Rather than sending your shocks to landfill, a rebuild extends their operational lifespan considerably, supporting both your wallet and the environment through responsible RC hobby practices.

Technical Performance

The TC7 platform is built upon Team Associated's proven touring car engineering, representing years of development and refinement in 1/10 scale off-road racing. The shock suspension system is critical to the chassis's renowned handling characteristics, and maintaining this system properly is essential for anyone who wants their RC car to perform consistently. Shock absorbers work by containing pressurised oil that dampens the compression and extension of the suspension springs, providing the cushioning effect that keeps your RC car planted during acceleration, braking, and cornering. As you drive, the shock fluid gradually becomes contaminated with dust, metal particles from internal wear, and moisture, which degrades its damping properties and causes the suspension to become unpredictable. The seals that contain this fluid also wear down over time, potentially leading to oil leaks that worsen performance further. This rebuild kit addresses all these issues by providing fresh internal components that restore your shocks to their original specifications. Team Associated engineers have optimised every aspect of this kit to match the exact requirements of the TC7 chassis, ensuring that when you complete your rebuild, your suspension will respond with the precision and control that made the TC7 famous in the competitive 1/10 touring car racing scene across the UK and internationally. Whether you're running on carpet, asphalt, or concrete, rebuilt shocks mean more predictable handling and better feedback from the track surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a shock rebuild kit and why do I need one for my Team Associated TC7? — A shock rebuild kit contains all the internal components needed to restore your shock absorbers to factory condition. Over time, shock oil becomes contaminated, seals degrade, and moving parts wear out from the constant suspension cycles during driving. A rebuild is far more cost-effective than buying new shocks and ensures your TC7's suspension performs exactly as Team Associated designed it. Regular rebuilds are part of responsible RC car maintenance and are essential for anyone serious about getting the best performance from their equipment.
  • How often should I rebuild my TC7 shocks? — The frequency depends on how much you drive. Competitive racers typically rebuild shocks every few months or after significant track time, whilst casual recreational drivers might rebuild once or twice yearly. If you notice your TC7's handling becoming less responsive, the suspension feeling bouncy or unpredictable, or if you observe oil leaking from the shocks, it's definitely time for a rebuild.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Shock rebuilding requires some mechanical aptitude and patience, but it's not an advanced skill. Many RC hobbyists who take their vehicles seriously learn to rebuild shocks themselves, as it's far cheaper than purchasing new shocks. However, if you're uncomfortable disassembling and reassembling precision components, you might prefer to have your local RC shop or a specialist perform the rebuild whilst you supply the kit components.
  • Will this rebuild kit work with other Team Associated models? — This kit is specifically designed for the TC7 platform. Whilst Team Associated designs similar shock systems across their range, you should always verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing, as different chassis may use different shock specifications.
  • What tools do I need to perform a shock rebuild? — You'll need basic RC maintenance tools including small wrenches, precision screwdrivers, and cleaning supplies. Many experienced RC enthusiasts keep a dedicated shock rebuild station with everything they need. Shock fluid is also typically required (not always included in rebuild kits), so check the specific contents of this kit to see what additional supplies you might need.
  • Where can I find instructions for rebuilding TC7 shocks? — Team Associated provides detailed instructions with their rebuild kits, and there are numerous online guides, forums, and YouTube tutorials created by RC enthusiasts showing TC7 shock rebuild procedures step-by-step. The RC community is incredibly helpful, and you'll find plenty of support if you get stuck.
