Overview

The Team Associated Screws M2.5x8mm FHCS (2mm Hex), part number AS31472, are essential metric fasteners designed for RC hobbyists and competitive racers who maintain and upgrade their Team Associated RC cars. These precision-engineered screws are purpose-built for routine maintenance, repairs and component replacements on a wide range of Team Associated models. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK enthusiast running competition-grade buggies or a weekend basher keeping your RC car in top condition, having the correct replacement fasteners on hand is crucial for reliable performance and longevity of your vehicle.

As a dedicated RC hobby supplier, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Team Associated parts to ensure you can always find the exact fasteners your model requires. The M2.5x8mm FHCS screw specification is a common size across many Team Associated platforms, making this a versatile part that belongs in every RC mechanic's toolbox. FHCS stands for Flat Head Cap Screw, which features a flush-mounted head design that sits flush with the surface when installed, providing a clean, aerodynamic finish and preventing snags on other components.

These screws feature a 2mm hex drive socket, which offers positive engagement with standard hex driver tools commonly found in RC car tool sets and hobby shops across the UK. The metric M2.5 specification ensures compatibility with Team Associated's precision engineering standards, and the 8mm length makes this size suitable for a variety of assembly and reassembly tasks on your RC platform.

Key Features

  • M2.5x8mm Metric Specification — This precise size is specifically engineered for Team Associated RC vehicles, ensuring proper fit and secure fastening in critical assembly points. Using the correct size fastener is essential for maintaining structural integrity and preventing component failure during high-speed running or competitive racing.
  • FHCS Design (Flat Head Cap Screw) — The flush-mounted head design sits level with the mounting surface, creating a clean finish that reduces aerodynamic drag and prevents the screw head from catching on other components during assembly or high-speed operation. This design is particularly important in RC car applications where every millimetre matters.
  • 2mm Hex Drive Socket — The 2mm hex socket provides positive engagement with standard hex drivers and Allen keys, ensuring reliable torque application without slipping or stripping the fastener head. This is a common tool size in RC hobby sets, making these screws convenient to work with during routine maintenance or rebuilds.
  • Genuine Team Associated Component — These are official fasteners manufactured to Team Associated's exacting standards, guaranteeing compatibility and reliability across their RC car range. Using genuine parts maintains the integrity of your vehicle's engineering and ensures predictable performance.
  • Wide Model Compatibility — These screws are specified for numerous Team Associated RC platforms including the RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, RC10B6.4, RC10B6.4D, Apex2 Sport A550, RC10B7, RC10B7D, RC10B84, RC10B84D, RC10B84 Classic, RC10B84D Classic, RC10B7.1 and RC10T84, making them a valuable spare part for owners of multiple Team Associated vehicles.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated M2.5x8mm FHCS screws represent the standard of fastening excellence that Team Associated applies throughout their RC car engineering. These metric fasteners are manufactured to precise tolerances, ensuring reliable performance across the full range of Team Associated platforms from their legendary RC10 series through to their latest generation vehicles. The FHCS configuration with flush-mounted head design is particularly valued in RC applications where aerodynamic efficiency and component integration are critical. The 2mm hex socket specification demonstrates attention to detail in tool compatibility, as this size aligns with the standard hex drivers found in most RC tool sets and workshop environments. Whether you're performing routine maintenance on your RC buggy, reassembling components after a rebuild, or replacing fasteners that have become stripped or lost, these screws deliver the reliability and precision that Team Associated is renowned for. The M2.5 diameter provides optimal holding power without over-constraining components, whilst the 8mm length is specifically calculated for the assembly points found throughout Team Associated's vehicle designs. These fasteners are suitable for use across Team Associated's competitive racing platforms as well as recreational RC cars, making them an indispensable consumable spare for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these screws compatible with my Team Associated RC car? — The Team Associated M2.5x8mm FHCS screws are specified for use on numerous Team Associated models including the entire RC10B series (B74.1, B74.1D, B6.3, B6.3D, B6.4, B6.4D, B7, B7D, B7.1, B84, B84D and Classic variants) as well as the Apex2 Sport A550 and RC10T84. If your vehicle is a Team Associated model, these screws are likely to be compatible; however, we recommend checking your vehicle's parts diagram or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop to confirm compatibility with your specific model.
  • What does FHCS mean and why is it important? — FHCS stands for Flat Head Cap Screw, which features a conical head that sits flush with the mounting surface rather than protruding above it. This design is important for RC cars because it reduces aerodynamic drag, prevents the screw head from snagging on other components, and provides a cleaner, more professional appearance. The flush design is particularly valuable in high-speed running where every detail contributes to performance and reliability.
  • What is the 2mm hex drive and how does it help during maintenance? — The 2mm hex socket (also called an Allen socket or hex drive) is a small hexagonal cavity in the screw head that accepts a matching 2mm hex driver or Allen key. This design provides superior grip compared to traditional Phillips or flathead screws, reducing the risk of the driver slipping and stripping the screw head. The 2mm specification is a standard size in RC hobby tool sets, making these screws convenient to work with during routine maintenance, repairs and rebuilds of your RC car.
  • How many screws are included in this pack? — The product information indicates this is a replacement part pack, though the exact quantity is not specified in the source documentation. We recommend contacting RC Model Shop directly at 01543 577278 or via WhatsApp to confirm the quantity before ordering, ensuring you receive the correct number of screws for your application.
  • Why should I buy genuine Team Associated fasteners rather than generic alternatives? — Genuine Team Associated screws are manufactured to precise specifications that match the engineering requirements of Team Associated vehicles. Using genuine fasteners ensures proper fit, optimal holding power, and compatibility with your vehicle's assembly points. Generic fasteners may vary in quality, thread pitch or material composition, potentially leading to loose connections, stripped holes, or component failure during use. Investing in genuine parts demonstrates a commitment to reliability and longevity of your RC vehicle.
  • Are these screws suitable for beginners and casual RC enthusiasts? — Yes, these screws are suitable for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels. Whether you're a competitive racer performing precise component adjustments or a casual basher maintaining your weekend RC car, having the correct replacement fasteners is essential. The 2mm hex drive is easy to work with, and these screws are installed using basic hand tools found in any RC tool set. If you're new to RC maintenance, the team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance on proper fastener installation and torque specifications.
