These long-format 3.25 mm ballstuds are essential spare parts for Associated RC cars, delivering the exact fitment and durability that competitive and recreational RC drivers expect. Whether you're setting up a new RC car in the UK, maintaining your existing fleet, or preparing for a race day, these ballstuds ensure your suspension and steering linkages work flawlessly.

Ballstuds are critical components in any RC car's suspension and control system, connecting tie rods, pull rods and other linkages to the chassis and suspension arms. Technical Performance

The Associated Ballstuds 3.25 mm - Long are precision-engineered suspension components manufactured to exact tolerances by Associated, a company with decades of RC engineering expertise. These ballstuds are crafted from durable materials capable of withstanding the stresses of competitive RC racing and casual recreational driving alike. The 3.25 mm diameter provides the correct fitment for designated Associated RC models, while the long format ensures proper suspension geometry and linkage angles. The ballstud head features a properly formed ball joint that articulates smoothly within your suspension arms and chassis connection points, allowing full range of motion during cornering, acceleration and deceleration. The robust construction ensures these ballstuds maintain their integrity even when subjected to the demanding loads of high-speed driving, jumping and aggressive track racing. Worn or damaged ballstuds should be replaced promptly, as they directly affect your RC car's handling precision, steering response and overall suspension performance. By maintaining fresh ballstuds as part of your regular maintenance routine, you'll preserve the performance characteristics your Associated RC model was engineered to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a ballstud and why does my RC car need one? — A ballstud is a precision ball joint component that connects your RC car's suspension and steering linkages to the chassis and suspension arms. These joints allow smooth articulation of your suspension while maintaining precise geometry. Over time and with heavy use, ballstuds can wear, develop play or become bent, degrading your car's handling and steering response. Replacing them with genuine Associated ballstuds restores your RC car to factory performance specifications.
  • How do I know if I need the long format instead of standard ballstuds? — Always consult your Associated RC car's parts diagram or instruction manual to confirm the exact ballstud specification required. The long format 3.25 mm ballstuds are designed for specific model configurations, and using the wrong size could result in incorrect suspension geometry and handling problems. RC Model Shop can assist with identifying the correct parts for your specific model.
  • Are these ballstuds compatible with all Associated RC models? — These 3.25 mm long ballstuds are compatible with specific Associated models including the RC12R6, RC7, RC10, TC7.2, F6 and Element Gatekeeper, though compatibility may vary depending on your specific setup and suspension configuration. Always verify against your kit documentation or parts diagram before ordering.
  • How often should I replace my ballstuds? — The frequency of replacement depends on your driving intensity and environment. Competitive racers may replace ballstuds regularly, whilst casual drivers might need them less frequently. Inspect your ballstuds regularly for excessive play, damage or wear. If you notice loose or unresponsive steering, or if your suspension feels sloppy, ballstud replacement should be your first maintenance check.
  • Can I install ballstuds myself? — Ballstud replacement is a straightforward maintenance task for most RC enthusiasts. You'll typically need a small Allen key or hex driver and basic RC tools. Detailed instructions should be included in your Associated RC car's manual, and RC Model Shop team members are happy to advise on installation techniques if you need guidance.
  • Why buy from RC Model Shop rather than other UK RC retailers? — RC Model Shop is an authorised Associated dealer stocking genuine parts with guaranteed compatibility. Our team of experienced RC experts can help you identify exactly which ballstuds you need for your specific model and provide ongoing support for your RC hobby.
