Key Features
- Gold anodised aluminium wheel hexes — Precision-machined hexes in corrosion-resistant gold aluminium provide both durability and an aesthetically appealing finish, whilst reducing weight at the critical wheel mounting points for improved responsiveness and handling dynamics.
- Gold anodised aluminium threaded racing shocks — The shock bodies are constructed from hard-anodised aluminium with threaded design elements, delivering superior damping control and allowing for fine-tuning of suspension geometry to match your driving style and track conditions.
- Three sealed differentials — Sealed differential units front, centre and rear eliminate dirt and moisture ingress whilst maintaining consistent power distribution across all four wheels, enhancing grip and traction on varied terrain and during aggressive cornering.
- Adjustable turnbuckles — Dual-adjustable turnbuckles throughout the suspension allow precise ride height, ride angle and suspension stiffness tuning without requiring additional tools or spare parts, enabling quick trackside adjustments for optimum performance.
- Adjustable inserts for caster blocks and rear hubs — Interchangeable adjustment options in the front caster blocks and rear hub carriers let you fine-tune steering response, stability and acceleration characteristics to suit your preferred driving technique and terrain type.
- Gold anodised aluminium steering rack — A lightweight yet rigid steering rack in hard-anodised aluminium provides precise front-end response and steering authority with minimal play, critical for consistent lap times and predictable handling in competitive driving.
- Front universal driveshafts — Universal joints at the front axles allow full articulation of the suspension whilst maintaining constant power delivery, preventing bind and allowing the buggy to maintain traction over rough and uneven terrain.
- Moulded tub chassis with covered centre driveshaft — The one-piece moulded plastic tub chassis provides lightweight rigidity whilst the covered centre driveshaft protects against mud, grass and debris, reducing maintenance and improving reliability during extended running sessions.
- Optional dust filter screen included — A removable dust filter screen is provided to prevent fine particles from clogging the motor air inlet during dusty track conditions, extending motor life and maintaining consistent power output.
- New rally wheels and tyres — The kit includes fresh rally-pattern wheels and off-road tyres specifically designed for multi-surface grip and durability, providing immediate out-of-box capability across different terrain types.
- Updated battery strap system — An improved battery mounting system securely holds your battery pack whilst allowing quick changes and preventing movement during aggressive driving that could affect weight distribution and handling.
- Aluminium centre driveshaft — The lightweight centre driveshaft is constructed from aluminium, reducing unsprung weight and rotational inertia for more responsive acceleration and better suspension performance.
- Clear Lexan Reflex 14B body — A polycarbonate body shell in transparent Lexan allows you to display the precision engineering beneath whilst providing impact protection; easily customised with paint and decals.
- RC10 Protec style rear wing — A classic rear wing design provides improved aerodynamic stability and high-speed tracking, based on proven Team Associated RC10 designs used in competitive racing worldwide.
Technical Performance
The Reflex 14B Classic Kit delivers comprehensive performance through carefully engineered mechanical systems and precision components. Built on a 1:14 scale platform with a 304mm length, 202mm width and adjustable wheelbase, this 4WD buggy weighs significantly less than full-size 1/10 scale machines, making it perfect for smaller tracks, indoor facilities or users who prefer a more agile, responsive platform. The internal gear ratio of 2.46:1 provides balanced acceleration and top speed characteristics suitable for competitive off-road racing and casual bashing alike. The moulded tub chassis design combines torsional rigidity with lightweight construction, critical for maintaining handling consistency through fast directional changes whilst keeping overall weight minimal for improved suspension performance and acceleration. Three sealed differentials throughout the drivetrain ensure power is distributed smoothly to all four wheels, increasing traction on varying terrain and preventing tyre slip during cornering. The comprehensive use of hard-anodised aluminium components—hexes, shocks, steering rack and centre driveshaft—provides superior corrosion resistance, weight savings and a premium aesthetic. Front universal driveshafts allow full suspension articulation, enabling the buggy to maintain contact with uneven ground and keep power applied even when terrain is challenging. The adjustable turnbuckles and caster blocks give you infinite fine-tuning capability, allowing you to dial in the perfect balance between steering response, stability and corner speed. With the clear Lexan body shell, you can showcase the quality engineering and assembly work you've completed, and the RC10 Protec-style rear wing provides proven aerodynamic benefits for high-speed stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated Reflex 14B Classic Kit suitable for beginners? — The Reflex 14B Classic is a kit that requires full assembly and mechanical knowledge to build correctly. It's ideal for intermediate to advanced hobbyists who understand RC mechanics and have experience assembling RC kits. Beginners will benefit from watching assembly tutorials and potentially getting help from experienced RC enthusiasts, but those willing to learn will find the assembly process educational and rewarding.
- What battery does the Reflex 14B Classic need? — The kit itself doesn't include a battery, so you'll need to source one separately. At this scale, both 2S and 3S LiPo batteries are commonly used depending on your desired power level, or you can use NiMH battery packs. The choice depends on your motor selection and performance preferences. RC Model Shop staff can advise on the best battery option for your specific motor choice.
- What motor and ESC should I use with this kit? — The kit doesn't include a motor or ESC, allowing you to choose components matched to your performance goals and budget. The 2.46:1 gear ratio works well with various brushless and brushed motor sizes. Consult the instruction manual or contact RC Model Shop for specific recommendations based on your chosen battery and desired top speed.
- What makes the Reflex 14B Classic different from other 1/14 scale buggies? — Team Associated brings 40 years of off-road racing heritage to the Reflex 14B platform. It features three sealed differentials, extensive aluminium construction, adjustable turnbuckles and caster blocks, and a proven design derived from Team Associated's competition RC10 range. These features combine to deliver superior handling adjustment capability and durability compared to many competitor offerings in the same scale category.
- How long does it take to build the Reflex 14B Classic Kit? — Assembly time varies depending on your experience level and familiarity with RC assembly. Expect anywhere from 4-8 hours for a first-time builder to 2-3 hours for experienced modellers. Taking time to understand each assembly step ensures everything is built correctly for optimal performance and longevity.
- Can I upgrade or modify components on the Reflex 14B Classic? — Yes, the kit is designed with upgradeability in mind. Team Associated produces numerous optional parts and upgrades for the Reflex 14B platform, including different shock configurations, body shells, drive gear sets, and suspension components, allowing you to continuously tune and improve your buggy.
- Is this RC buggy waterproof? — The kit itself is not waterproof. The moulded tub chassis and covered centre driveshaft provide some splash protection, but your choice of motor, ESC and servo will determine overall water resistance. Waterproof electronics can be sourced separately if running in wet conditions is a priority.
