Overview

Transform your 1/8 scale nitro RC buggy or truck with the Associated FT Aluminium Clamp Throttle Servo Horn 25T (AS1372), a precision-engineered upgrade designed for serious RC enthusiasts in the UK. Whether you're competing at the track or enjoying weekend bashing, this Factory Team component delivers the reliability and responsiveness that separates winning setups from the rest. The clamping servo horn is an essential upgrade for any RC car UK owner looking to eliminate flex and improve throttle control, making it an ideal choice for those running Associated RC8B3.2, RC8T3.2 and other competitive 1/8 nitro vehicles.

Machined from high-quality 7075 aluminium, this servo horn represents a significant step up from standard plastic alternatives. The Factory Team laser-etched branding isn't just for show—it's a mark of precision engineering and quality assurance. The clamping design ensures a rock-solid connection to your servo's spline, eliminating the flex and slop that can cost you races or damage your throttle linkage during hard driving. If you're serious about your RC hobby and want to protect your investment whilst improving performance, this component belongs on your vehicle.

Available in both 23-tooth and 25-tooth spline counts, the AS1372 is the 25-tooth version compatible with Futaba and Savox servos. This upgrade is particularly valuable for nitro RC enthusiasts who demand absolute precision in throttle response and brake modulation. RC car UK buyers consistently report improved throttle feel and reduced maintenance headaches after switching to aluminium clamping horns, making this one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades available.

Key Features

  • High-Quality 7075 Aluminium Construction — This servo horn is machined from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium alloy, which provides exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and superior durability compared to plastic alternatives. The material choice ensures the component will withstand years of hard racing and bashing without cracking or stripping, protecting both your servo and your throttle linkage.
  • Factory Team Laser-Etched Branding — The precision laser-etching adds authentic Factory Team identification to your setup whilst serving as a marker of genuine Associated quality. This tells fellow RC enthusiasts at the track that you're running proper competition-grade components.
  • Clamping Design for Secure Spline Fit — Unlike traditional horn designs that rely on a single grub screw, the clamping mechanism grips your servo spline from multiple points, creating an absolutely solid connection with zero play or slip-out risk. This design innovation eliminates a major source of throttle inconsistency and servo damage during aggressive driving.
  • Reduced Flex for Improved Throttle and Brake Feel — The aluminium construction is significantly stiffer than plastic, which translates directly to more responsive and linear throttle control. You'll notice sharper throttle response, better modulation during braking, and more consistent performance lap after lap, giving you the precision control that wins races.
  • 25-Tooth Futaba/Savox Spline Compatibility — The 25-tooth spline count makes this horn compatible with Futaba and Savox servo specifications, ensuring you can use it with the most popular servo brands in 1/8 scale racing. An alternative 23-tooth version (AS1371) is also available if your servo requires that spline count.
  • Precision Machining and Build Quality — Every component from Associated Factory Team goes through rigorous quality control, and this servo horn is no exception. The machining is accurate and clean, with perfectly formed spline engagement and smooth linkage mounting surfaces.

Technical Performance

The Associated FT Aluminium Clamp Throttle Servo Horn represents a significant engineering improvement over plastic servo horns commonly found on stock RC cars. By utilising 7075 aluminium—the same material used in aerospace applications—Associated has created a component that offers exceptional rigidity without adding meaningful weight. This matters because servo horn flex directly impacts throttle response linearity and brake modulation precision. When you pull the throttle trigger on your 1/8 scale nitro buggy, every millisecond counts, and any flex in the drivetrain between your radio receiver and the carburetor represents a loss of control authority. The clamping design addresses this by distributing grip pressure across the servo spline rather than relying on a single point of contact, eliminating the possibility of slippage or gradual wear that leads to loose connections. The AS1372's 25-tooth spline pattern is the standard for Futaba and Savox servos, making it the go-to choice for competitors running these industry-standard components. The laser-etched Factory Team branding serves as both an aesthetic touch and a guarantee of genuine Associated quality—when you're investing in performance upgrades for your RC model, authenticity matters. This servo horn is engineered to withstand the extreme forces generated during hard cornering, aggressive acceleration, and emergency braking in competitive RC racing environments, making it an essential upgrade for anyone serious about 1/8 scale nitro competition.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this servo horn compatible with my Associated RC8B3.2 or RC8T3.2? — Yes, the AS1372 is specifically listed as compatible with both the RC8B3.2 and RC8T3.2, as well as older RC8B3 and RC8T3 nitro vehicles. It's also suitable for other 1/8 nitro buggies with similar throttle servo horn design, though you should verify your servo's spline count matches the 25-tooth specification.
  • What's the difference between the 23-tooth and 25-tooth versions? — The AS1371 is the 23-tooth version whilst the AS1372 is the 25-tooth version. The spline count must match your servo's specification—Futaba and Savox typically use 25-tooth splines, but you should verify your specific servo model before ordering to ensure compatibility.
  • Why should I upgrade to an aluminium servo horn? — Plastic servo horns flex under load, which causes throttle response to feel sluggish and imprecise, and the flex can eventually lead to cracking or stripping. The aluminium construction on the AS1372 eliminates this flex entirely, giving you sharper throttle response, better brake modulation, and improved durability. For competitive racing or serious bashing, this upgrade is essential.
  • Will this servo horn fit my servo? — The AS1372 features a 25-tooth spline designed for Futaba and Savox servos. Before purchasing, confirm your servo has a matching 25-tooth spline—if it has 23 teeth or a different spline count, you'll need the appropriate horn. The clamping design works with any standard servo using the correct spline specification.
  • How does the clamping design improve reliability? — Traditional servo horns use a single grub screw that can loosen over time and may not grip the spline evenly, leading to slippage and eventual damage. The clamping design distributes grip pressure across multiple contact points on the servo spline, creating a much more secure and durable connection that won't slip or loosen during hard driving.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a beginner-friendly upgrade in terms of installation, it's primarily designed for drivers who want to improve their RC's performance and durability. If you're just starting out with RC cars UK, this servo horn is worth the investment because it prevents costly servo damage and improves throttle feel even on entry-level setups.
