Key Features
- Aluminium Construction — Made from premium aluminium alloy rather than plastic, this servo horn provides superior strength and durability whilst remaining lightweight, ensuring consistent linkage geometry under load and during aggressive cornering or acceleration.
- 23T Spline Compatibility — The 23T output spline (Sanwa/JR standard) ensures broad compatibility with most popular servo brands used in RC cars and trucks across the UK, making this a versatile upgrade option.
- Compact 15.5 mm Length — The precision-engineered 15.5 mm length is specifically designed to support direct, responsive control in both steering linkages and throttle/brake configurations, giving you the exact feel and response you need.
- Factory Team Quality — Associated's Factory Team designation means this component meets the high standards demanded by competitive racers and is engineered for reliability in demanding conditions.
- Straightforward Upgrade Path — Moving from a standard plastic horn to this aluminium option is a simple swap that requires no additional modifications, making it an easy way to improve your RC car's performance and durability.
- Long-Term Reliability — Unlike plastic horns that can wear, crack or strip over time, aluminium construction maintains its integrity through countless hours of driving, ensuring consistent servo response lap after lap.
Technical Performance
The Associated FT Aluminium Servo Horn AS1364 exemplifies precision engineering in servo linkage components. Manufactured from high-grade aluminium alloy, this horn delivers the rigidity needed to maintain consistent servo arm geometry even under the stresses of competitive racing or intensive bashing sessions. The 23T spline count (Sanwa/JR standard) has become the industry-standard specification for modern servo equipment, ensuring widespread compatibility across the RC hobby community in the UK and beyond. At 15.5 mm in length, this horn strikes the optimal balance between mechanical advantage and response speed, making it equally suitable for steering applications requiring quick reflexes or throttle/brake control demanding smooth modulation. Unlike plastic alternatives that can degrade, crack or develop play over time, the aluminium construction resists deformation whilst remaining light enough to avoid adding unnecessary mass to your servo system. This is particularly important for RC cars and buggies where every gramme counts towards overall handling balance and battery runtime. The precision manufacturing ensures each horn is accurately dimensioned and finished, with no flash or imperfections that could cause binding or inconsistent servo movement. Whether you're upgrading from plastic or replacing a damaged horn, this component represents a genuine improvement that will be noticeable in finer control inputs and more consistent lap times.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the Associated FT Aluminium Servo Horn 23T fit my servo? — Yes, provided your servo features a 23T output spline. This is the Sanwa/JR standard specification used by the vast majority of modern RC servos. Check your servo's documentation or the spline count marked on the servo output shaft before ordering. If you're unsure, contact RC Model Shop and our expert team will help identify the correct horn for your setup.
- What is the advantage of aluminium over plastic servo horns? — Aluminium offers several critical advantages: superior rigidity that maintains consistent linkage geometry under load, resistance to deformation and cracking, longer service life, and more reliable servo response. Whilst plastic horns are adequate for casual use, aluminium horns are the preferred choice for competitive racing and serious bashers who demand consistent performance.
- Is this horn suitable for both steering and throttle applications? — Yes, the 15.5 mm length and robust aluminium construction make it equally suitable for steering linkages or throttle and brake control setups. The compact length provides direct, responsive control in both applications.
- Which Associated RC models is this compatible with? — This servo horn is compatible with any Associated RC model featuring a servo with a 23T output spline. Our source data indicates suitability for the RC12R5.2, B6.1, T6.1, RC10SC6.1, B74, B6.2, B6.1DL, B74.1, T6.2, RC10SC6.2, RB10, B6.3, B6.4D, B6.4, T6.4, SC6.4 and RB10 Retro, though compatibility extends to any third-party servo with matching 23T spline specification.
- Can I use this horn if I'm new to RC? — Absolutely. Whilst servo horns are technical components, installation is straightforward. If you're replacing an existing plastic horn, simply remove the old one and slide the aluminium version onto the servo spline — no special tools or technical knowledge required. If you need guidance, RC Model Shop's experienced team is happy to assist.
