Overview

The Voltz 4600mAh 6.0V Receiver Sub-C Stick Battery Pack (VZ0135) is a reliable and straightforward receiver power solution designed for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand dependable performance from their radio equipment. This NiMH receiver pack delivers consistent 6.0V power output with an impressive 4600mAh capacity, making it an ideal choice for powering the receiver, servo and BEC systems in your RC car, truck, buggy or other radio-controlled vehicle. Whether you're running a 1/5th scale monster truck, a competitive 1/10 buggy, or any other RC model that requires dedicated receiver power, this Voltz pack provides the longevity and reliability you need for extended running sessions and serious hobby use.

Presented in a convenient Sub-C stick format, the Voltz receiver pack is engineered to fit neatly into battery boxes and receiver compartments whilst delivering the stable voltage regulation that modern RC electronics require. The 4600mAh capacity ensures you can enjoy longer running times before needing to recharge, reducing downtime between sessions. This is particularly valuable for competitive RC racing in the UK, where every minute of track time counts, or for weekend bashers who want to maximise their hobby time without constantly swapping batteries.

What sets this Voltz receiver battery apart is its dual connector flexibility. Supplied with both BEC and Tamiya connectors, the VZ0135 adapts seamlessly to different wiring setups and RC equipment configurations. This means whether your receiver requires a BEC connector or a traditional Tamiya plug, you can hook this pack up without modifications or adaptor hassles. The straightforward design and proven NiMH chemistry make this an excellent receiver power solution for both beginners discovering RC for the first time and experienced racers who appreciate the value and consistency of quality NiMH receiver batteries.

Key Features

  • 6.0V NiMH Chemistry — The 6.0V output is the standard voltage required by most modern RC receivers and servo systems, ensuring compatibility across virtually all UK RC car platforms and providing stable, regulated power delivery throughout your running session without the voltage sag issues that can affect receiver performance.
  • 4600mAh Capacity — With 4600mAh of capacity, this receiver pack delivers extended running times compared to smaller capacity alternatives, meaning you can spend more time on the track, trail or bashing spot and less time waiting for batteries to recharge during your hobby sessions.
  • Sub-C Stick Format — The compact stick pack configuration is specifically designed to fit standard RC battery boxes and receiver compartments, making installation straightforward on cars, buggies, trucks and most other RC models without requiring creative mounting solutions or modifications.
  • Dual Connector Options — Supplied with both BEC and Tamiya connectors, this receiver pack offers exceptional flexibility and adapts to the specific wiring configuration of your RC equipment, eliminating the need for additional adaptors or connector modifications that could compromise reliability.
  • Voltz Brand Quality — Voltz is a recognised manufacturer of RC batteries and power solutions with a strong reputation across the UK RC hobby community, meaning you can rely on consistent performance and quality construction from a brand that understands the demands of serious RC enthusiasts.
  • Ready to Use — This is a complete receiver power solution that arrives pre-assembled with connectors attached, allowing you to charge and deploy it immediately without any additional preparation, making it ideal for racers and bashers who want to focus on driving, not assembly.

Technical Performance

The Voltz VZ0135 receiver battery represents a well-engineered solution for powering receiver systems, servos and BEC electronics in RC vehicles of virtually any type. The 6.0V output voltage is the industry standard for RC receiver applications, and the NiMH chemistry provides reliable, consistent power delivery throughout the discharge cycle. With 4600mAh of capacity, this receiver pack balances runtime longevity with practical weight and size considerations — important factors when optimising your RC car's handling and performance. The Sub-C cell configuration allows the pack to be constructed in a compact stick format measuring 115mm x 48mm x 22mm, dimensions that fit neatly into receiver boxes without taking up excessive space or adding unnecessary weight to your chassis. The inclusion of both BEC and Tamiya connectors reflects real-world usage patterns, acknowledging that UK RC enthusiasts use a diverse range of equipment from different manufacturers with varying connector preferences. NiMH technology offers inherent safety and longevity advantages over lithium chemistries in receiver applications, with excellent cycle life, tolerance for occasional overcharge, and predictable performance characteristics that have made NiMH the preferred receiver battery type for countless competitive RC racers and serious hobbyists across the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What voltage is this receiver battery and what does that mean for my RC car? — The Voltz VZ0135 delivers 6.0V output, which is the standard voltage specification for RC receivers, servos and BEC systems. This 6.0V is achieved by connecting six NiMH Sub-C cells in series, and this voltage ensures your receiver can communicate reliably with your transmitter whilst powering your servos with sufficient current to maintain control responsiveness across all driving conditions and servo movements.
  • How long will the 4600mAh capacity provide runtime for my RC vehicle? — The actual runtime depends on your specific receiver, servo count and servo duty cycle, but as a general guide, a 4600mAh receiver pack typically provides 2-4 hours of practical running time before requiring recharge, though this varies based on how many servos are powered and how actively they're being used during driving.
  • Which connector should I use, BEC or Tamiya? — Check your receiver's connector specification — if your receiver has a BEC plug, use the BEC connector; if it uses a Tamiya connector, use that instead. The beauty of the Voltz VZ0135 is that it arrives with both options attached, so you can use whichever suits your specific setup without needing adaptors or modifications.
  • Is the Voltz 4600mAh 6.0V receiver pack suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is an excellent choice for anyone new to RC hobbies because NiMH receiver batteries are simple, safe and require no special charging equipment beyond a standard NiMH charger. There's no complex balancing needed, no special storage procedures, and they're very forgiving if occasionally overcharged, making them perfect for learning the hobby whilst you build experience and knowledge.
  • What makes NiMH better than lithium chemistry for receiver batteries? — NiMH receiver batteries like this Voltz pack offer several advantages: they're more forgiving of occasional overcharge, they have excellent cycle life with proper care, they don't require special balancing or low-voltage cutoffs, they're safer to handle and transport, and they maintain consistent voltage output throughout the discharge cycle, which is crucial for stable receiver performance.
  • Can I use this receiver pack in different RC vehicles, or is it specific to one model? — The 6.0V output and Sub-C stick format make this receiver pack compatible with virtually any RC car, truck, buggy, truggy or other vehicle that requires receiver power, as long as your receiver and servos are rated for 6.0V input. This universal compatibility makes it a versatile addition to any RC enthusiast's battery collection.
  • How should I charge this NiMH receiver battery? — Use any standard NiMH battery charger capable of charging six-cell packs. Most RC chargers in the UK include NiMH charging profiles, and you can typically charge at standard rates (around C/10, meaning a 4600mAh pack would charge at approximately 460mA) or slower for maximum battery longevity. Always follow your charger manufacturer's instructions and never leave NiMH batteries charging unattended.
