Key Features
- 4-Channel Digital Receiver with 2.4GHz Technology — The integrated 4-channel receiver operates on the secure 2.4GHz frequency band, which offers superior range, reliability and interference immunity compared to older 35MHz and 72MHz systems still in use across some older RC aircraft. The 2.4GHz standard is now recognised as the industry benchmark for RC aviation in the UK and worldwide, ensuring your aircraft responds instantly and consistently to your transmitter commands.
- Built-In Gyroscopic Stabilisation System — The integrated gyro works automatically to detect unwanted roll, pitch and yaw movements and applies corrective control inputs to keep your aircraft stable and flying true. This feature is invaluable for beginners who are still developing their instinctive control responses, and equally useful for experienced pilots who want to reduce fatigue during long flying sessions or focus purely on aerobatic control inputs without managing basic stability.
- Included Servo Hardware — This receiver system comes with the servo infrastructure already integrated, eliminating confusion about servo compatibility, wiring harnesses and installation complexity. The included servo solution is factory-matched to the receiver's control outputs, guaranteeing proper operation without the troubleshooting that sometimes accompanies sourcing separate components.
- Lightweight Compact Design — The receiver's small physical footprint and minimal weight make installation in tight fuselage spaces straightforward, preserving valuable payload capacity and helping to achieve the optimal centre of gravity in your RC aircraft. Weight matters in RC aviation because every gram affects climb performance, responsiveness and battery runtime.
- Ready-to-Install Integration — Unlike receivers that require external gyro modules, separate servo controllers and complex wiring looms, the 761-2S arrives as an integrated system where all components work together seamlessly. This dramatically reduces installation time and potential points of failure in your aircraft's control system.
- Proven Volantex Engineering — Volantex has built its reputation on delivering reliable, affordable RC aircraft systems that work consistently across thousands of UK installations. This receiver carries that heritage of dependability and customer satisfaction.
Technical Performance
The Volantex 761-2S receiver represents a sophisticated piece of RC electronics engineering that brings together multiple functional elements into one integrated system. At its heart is a 4-channel receiver architecture capable of handling elevator, aileron, rudder and throttle control inputs simultaneously, with each channel delivering proportional control resolution that allows smooth, precise aircraft movements. The 2.4GHz digital radio system operates on a secure frequency that automatically selects the cleanest available channel, avoiding the interference issues that sometimes plagued older RC systems operating on fixed frequencies. The built-in gyroscopic stabilisation uses precision sensors to detect aircraft movement in all three axes and automatically applies corrective servo commands through the integrated servo controllers. This gyro system operates continuously in the background, working with your manual control inputs rather than against them, which means the gyro enhances your control authority rather than limiting it. The receiver's construction utilises quality PCB design and component selection practices proven across Volantex's extensive product range, ensuring reliable operation across the temperature ranges and vibration environments typical of RC aircraft flight. The included servo hardware integrates with the receiver's control outputs through pre-wired connectors, simplifying installation and reducing the risk of miswiring control systems. Power consumption is minimal, allowing extended flight times on modest LiPo battery capacities, and the receiver's protection circuitry guards against the voltage spikes and reversed polarity events that can occasionally occur during aircraft operation or ground handling.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Volantex 761-2S receiver suitable for beginner RC aircraft pilots in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. The integrated gyroscopic stabilisation system makes this receiver particularly valuable for pilots still developing their control instincts, as the gyro automatically helps keep the aircraft stable during turns and recoveries. Beginners benefit significantly from the automated stabilisation, which allows them to focus on learning basic flying techniques like coordinated turns and gentle climbs without fighting the aircraft's natural instability. The ready-integrated servo system also eliminates installation complexity that might otherwise require specialist knowledge.
- What is the 2.4GHz frequency system and why does it matter? — The 2.4GHz digital frequency system is the modern standard for RC aircraft across the UK and worldwide. Unlike older 35MHz and 72MHz systems that operated on fixed channels, 2.4GHz systems automatically scan for interference and select a clear channel, providing superior reliability and allowing multiple users to fly simultaneously without frequency conflicts. The digital nature of 2.4GHz also enables encryption and automatic channel binding, meaning your transmitter and receiver link securely together and cannot accidentally interfere with other pilots' aircraft.
- How does the built-in gyro system work and can I disable it if I want? — The integrated gyroscopic stabilisation system continuously monitors aircraft movement using precision sensors and applies small corrective control inputs to maintain stable flight. Most quality gyro systems, including Volantex's implementation, allow you to adjust the gyro sensitivity or authority level to suit your flying style and aircraft characteristics. Some gyro systems also offer on-off switching, though many pilots find the gyro benefits are so valuable that they prefer to keep it active for all flights. The gyro enhances your manual control rather than replacing it, meaning you retain full command authority at all times.
- What battery does the Volantex 761-2S receiver need? — The receiver operates from standard RC LiPo battery supplies, typically in the 2S (7.4V) to 3S (11.1V) range that powers modern RC aircraft. Always consult the specific receiver documentation to confirm the exact voltage range supported, as different receiver designs may have slightly different power requirements. Using a battery with appropriate capacity ensures sufficient flight time whilst maintaining safe voltage levels throughout your flight.
- Can I use this receiver in different aircraft models? — The 761-2S receiver is designed as a 4-channel system suitable for aircraft that require aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle control. This makes it compatible with conventional fixed-wing aircraft, trainers, gliders and many sport aeroplanes. Before installing in a new aircraft, ensure your airframe has suitable spaces for the receiver, servos and antenna, and verify that the aircraft's control requirements match the receiver's 4-channel architecture. Some aeroplanes with more complex control systems (like those with flaps or retractable landing gear) may require additional channels beyond the basic four.
- How is the antenna configured and what is the radio range? — RC aircraft receivers typically feature an antenna wire that should be positioned along the fuselage for optimal reception. The 2.4GHz frequency system generally provides excellent range well in excess of practical flying distances for recreational aircraft (typically 500+ metres under normal conditions), though range can be affected by terrain features and nearby sources of radio interference. Always follow the antenna positioning guidance in your receiver documentation to achieve reliable range throughout your intended flying area.
