Overview
The Savox SH0263MG+ metal-gear digital micro servo is a quick and durable servo designed for RC enthusiasts who demand precision and reliability in their small-scale aircraft and helicopter builds. This is a servo built tough, featuring premium construction that ensures longevity even under demanding flight conditions. Whether you're flying small planes or piloting 450 size helicopters, this micro servo delivers the performance and responsiveness you need to keep your aircraft stable and under complete control.
As a recognised leader in servo technology, Savox has engineered the SH0263MG+ to meet the exacting standards of RC helicopter and parkfly pilots across the UK and beyond. The servo's compact size and lightweight design make it ideal for applications where space and weight are critical factors, such as indoor parkfly aircraft and small-scale RC planes. With its metal gear construction and advanced bearing support, this servo combines the speed and precision that competitive pilots demand with the durability required for regular use and occasional crashes that come with the hobby.
The SH0263MG+ is part of Savox's Plus range, which means it features the new Soft Start Mode and full compatibility with Sanwa SSR systems, giving you flexibility in how you integrate this servo into your radio setup. This makes it an excellent choice for RC enthusiasts upgrading their fleet or building new micro scale aircraft from scratch, whether you're a seasoned competitor or discovering the world of precision RC flying for the first time.
Key Features
- Metal Gear Train — The servo features a robust metal gear train that ensures exceptional durability and longevity, allowing it to withstand repeated use and the rigours of regular flying without stripping or degrading. This is critical for maintaining consistent performance over months and years of operation, making your investment in this servo worthwhile.
- Aluminium Middle Case — The servo's middle case is constructed from lightweight aluminium, which allows for superior heat dissipation and cooler operating temperatures during extended flight sessions. This thermal management is vital for maintaining servo responsiveness and preventing the performance degradation that can occur when servos overheat during demanding manoeuvres.
- Dual Ball Bearing Support — Two precision ball bearings provide smooth, frictionless rotation of the servo shaft, ensuring rapid and accurate control movements with minimal backlash. This dual bearing design is essential for achieving the tight, responsive control that parkfly pilots and small aircraft flyers require for stable hovering and precise manoeuvres.
- Ultra-Fast Response Time — At 0.1 seconds per 60 degrees at 6.0V, this servo responds with exceptional speed to your transmitter inputs, giving you instantaneous control authority. This rapid response time is crucial for stabilising aircraft during fast-moving flight patterns and maintaining precise control in challenging flying conditions.
- Compact and Lightweight Design — Weighing just 15 grams and measuring only 22.8 x 12.0 x 25.4mm, this micro servo is perfect for weight-critical applications where every gram counts. The compact footprint makes installation easy in confined spaces typical of small aircraft and 450 helicopters.
- Excellent Torque Output — Delivering 30.6 oz-inches of torque at 6.0V, this servo provides sufficient control authority to move control surfaces effectively even in turbulent air, whilst remaining light enough not to burden your aircraft with excess weight.
- Soft Start Mode — The new Soft Start Mode featured in Savox Plus models prevents sudden servo movements when power is first applied, protecting delicate linkages and preventing unexpected aircraft movements on the bench or during setup.
- Sanwa SSR Compatibility — Full compatibility with Sanwa SSR digital radio systems means you can integrate this servo seamlessly into modern digital control setups, providing additional flexibility in configuring your radio system.
- 21-Tooth Spline Servo Horn — The standard 21-tooth spline horn works with a wide range of aftermarket options and accessories, allowing you to customise your control linkage setup to suit your specific aircraft build.
Technical Performance
The Savox SH0263MG+ represents a pinnacle of micro servo engineering, delivering exceptional performance in a package weighing just 15 grams. At 6.0V operation, the servo achieves a blistering 0.10 second response time per 60 degrees of travel, ensuring your control inputs translate to aircraft movement with virtually no perceptible delay. This speed is complemented by a respectable 30.6 oz-inches of torque, providing sufficient authority to move control surfaces against air pressure and maintain stable flight even during aggressive manoeuvres. The metal gear train is manufactured to exacting tolerances, eliminating the play and slop associated with plastic gears, whilst the aluminium centre case actively manages heat dissipation — a critical consideration during extended flight sessions where servo temperature can climb significantly. The dual ball bearing support system minimises friction and backlash, contributing to the servo's pinpoint accuracy and rapid response characteristics. For comparison, at 4.8V the servo operates at 0.13 seconds per 60 degrees with 25.0 oz-inches of torque, offering flexibility depending on your power supply configuration. The 21-tooth servo spline is industry-standard, allowing compatibility with countless control linkage options available for RC aircraft throughout the UK. Whether flying small electric planes, 450 size helicopters, or exploring the growing parkfly category, this servo delivers the performance and reliability expected from a premium Savox product.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Savox SH0263MG+ suitable for 450 size helicopters and parkfly aircraft? — Yes, Savox specifically designed this servo for 450 size helicopters and small parkfly aircraft. The lightweight 15-gram design and compact footprint make it ideal for these applications where weight and space are critical constraints.
- What voltage should I run this servo at? — The servo is rated for operation between 4.8V and 6.0V. At 6.0V you'll achieve the fastest response time of 0.10 seconds per 60 degrees and maximum torque of 30.6 oz-inches, making this the recommended operating voltage for most applications.
- Will this servo work with my Sanwa radio system? — Absolutely. The SH0263MG+ is part of Savox's Plus range and features full Sanwa SSR compatibility, allowing seamless integration with digital Sanwa radio systems used by many UK RC enthusiasts.
- What is Soft Start Mode and why does it matter? — Soft Start Mode, a feature of Savox Plus models, prevents the servo from making sudden movements when power is first applied to your aircraft. This protects delicate control linkages from shock loads and prevents unexpected aircraft movements during setup and bench testing.
- How does this servo compare to other micro servos on the market? — The SH0263MG+ combines Savox's proven reliability with a metal gear train, dual ball bearing support, and aluminium heat-dissipating case. This combination delivers superior durability and thermal management compared to many competing micro servos, whilst the 0.10-second response time places it among the fastest in its class.
- Is the servo horn included? — Yes, the servo comes with a standard 21-tooth spline servo horn included in the box, though you can purchase additional horn options from aftermarket suppliers for different control linkage configurations.
- Will this servo fit in tight spaces on my small aircraft? — At just 22.8 x 12.0 x 25.4mm and weighing only 15 grams, the SH0263MG+ is designed specifically for compact aircraft where space and weight are premium. Its micro dimensions make it an excellent choice for parkfly builds and small electric planes.
