Overview
The Louise RC ST-ROCKET Mini Maxx/XRT Removable Hex tyre set represents a premium choice for RC enthusiasts in the UK looking to upgrade their micro-scale RC car performance. These pre-mounted soft compound tyres are engineered specifically for Mini Maxx and Mini XRT platforms, delivering the grip and durability that serious RC drivers demand. Whether you're a weekend basher exploring your local RC track or a dedicated competitor fine-tuning your setup, the ST-ROCKET tyres offer professional-grade performance that transforms how your mini RC car handles on diverse terrain.
This tyre set stands out in the crowded RC market because it comes pre-mounted and glued onto nylon composite rims, meaning you can install them immediately without additional assembly or waiting for adhesive to cure. The removable hex design with both 0-inch and 1/2-inch offset options gives you genuine flexibility to adjust your vehicle's geometry and handling characteristics to suit different track conditions or driving styles. For RC car UK buyers seeking a versatile, ready-to-install tyre solution that combines quality engineering with practical convenience, the Louise RC ST-ROCKET is a compelling option that delivers real value.
Louise RC is a recognised manufacturer in the hobby, and this ST-ROCKET range has earned respect among micro-scale RC car enthusiasts for consistent performance and reliability. The soft rubber compound is specifically formulated for sport-level driving, providing responsive feedback and excellent power delivery across a variety of surfaces. If you're serious about getting the best from your Mini Maxx or XRT, upgrading to these professional-grade tyres is one of the most impactful changes you can make.
Key Features
- Pre-mounted and glued configuration — These tyres arrive ready to install straight onto your Mini Maxx or XRT without requiring additional assembly, adhesive application, or curing time, so you can get racing faster and avoid the hassle of mounting tyres yourself.
- Dual offset options in one set — The set includes both 0-inch and 1/2-inch offset removable hex wheels, allowing you to adjust your vehicle's track width and handling balance to optimise performance for different track layouts or driving conditions without purchasing multiple wheel sets.
- Soft compound rubber for enhanced grip — The soft rubber compound is engineered to deliver maximum traction and responsive steering feel, particularly important for micro-scale RC cars where small improvements in grip translate to measurable performance gains on track.
- Removable 12mm hex design — The removable hex adapter system allows quick and straightforward wheel changes, whether you're swapping in spare tyres between heats or transitioning to different tyre compounds for varying track conditions.
- Foam cut inserts for optimal performance — The integrated foam inserts are precisely cut to work in harmony with the soft compound rubber, maintaining tyre shape under hard cornering and reducing sidewall roll for more predictable handling.
- Black nylon composite rims — The durable nylon composite construction resists cracking and deformation under the stresses of competitive driving, whilst the black finish provides a professional appearance that suits any mini RC car colour scheme.
- Purpose-built for Mini Maxx and Mini XRT — These tyres are specifically engineered for these platforms, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility without the need to purchase universal tyres that might not perform optimally on your particular vehicle.
Technical Performance
The Louise RC ST-ROCKET ST-ROCKET Mini Maxx/XRT tyre set delivers exceptional technical specifications that underpin its performance credentials. The tyres measure 99.5mm in diameter with a 52mm width, providing the proper footprint for micro-scale RC driving with responsive handling characteristics. The sport-level soft compound rubber is designed to perform across a range of track surfaces and conditions, offering the sweet spot between durability and grip for drivers who want to push their Mini Maxx or XRT without sacrificing tyre lifespan. Each tyre and wheel assembly is engineered to keep weight minimal—critical on micro-scale platforms where every gram matters for acceleration, braking and cornering performance. The foam cut inserts work in concert with the soft compound to maintain structural integrity during aggressive driving, preventing the tyre from rolling under the chassis during high-speed cornering. The nylon composite rim material is selected for its balance of lightweight construction and impact resistance, important when driving on outdoor terrain where minor collisions with track edges are inevitable. The removable 12mm hex system is the industry standard for mini RC cars, ensuring broad compatibility with spare wheels and allowing you to maintain multiple tyre sets without worrying about different adapter types. For UK-based RC car enthusiasts using brushless or electric powerplants, these soft compound tyres will extract maximum benefit from your motor's power delivery, translating more efficiently into track speed and acceleration than harder compound alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these tyres suitable for both indoor and outdoor RC tracks? — Yes, the soft compound rubber in the ST-ROCKET range is engineered as a sport-level tyre that performs reliably across diverse surfaces and conditions. Indoor carpet tracks will see excellent grip and responsive steering, whilst outdoor clay, asphalt and dirt surfaces will all benefit from the enhanced traction the soft compound provides compared to medium or hard alternatives.
- Do I need to glue these tyres or are they pre-assembled? — These tyres arrive pre-mounted and factory-glued onto the nylon composite rims, so installation is as simple as removing them from the packaging and pressing the 12mm hex adapters onto your Mini Maxx or XRT's drive shafts. No additional glue, clamps or curing time required.
- What is the difference between the 0-inch and 1/2-inch offset wheels? — The offset refers to how far the wheel rim extends outward from the vehicle's centreline. The 0-inch offset wheels sit more directly under the chassis, whilst the 1/2-inch offset wheels extend further outward. Changing between them effectively alters your vehicle's track width, affecting handling balance and stability in corners. Experimenting with both is part of fine-tuning your Mini Maxx or XRT for optimal performance.
- Can these tyres be used on other RC car platforms? — These tyres are specifically engineered and tested for the Mini Maxx and Mini XRT platforms. Whilst the 12mm hex standard is common across micro-scale RC cars, we recommend confirming compatibility with your vehicle's specifications before purchasing, as tyre diameter and width differences can affect handling and speedometer accuracy on other platforms.
- How long do these soft compound tyres typically last? — Tyre lifespan depends on driving intensity, surface conditions and maintenance. Soft compound tyres wear faster than harder alternatives but deliver superior grip, which is the intended trade-off for performance-focused drivers. Regular inspection and timely replacement when tread wear becomes visible ensures optimal performance and safety on track.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst these are professional-grade soft compound tyres, they will work on any Mini Maxx or XRT regardless of driver experience level. However, beginners may find that medium compound tyres offer a longer tyre lifespan and lower replacement costs whilst still delivering good performance. As you progress and develop consistent driving technique, upgrading to soft compounds like the ST-ROCKET allows you to extract more performance from your vehicle.
- What makes Louise RC tyres recognised in the UK RC community? — Louise RC has built a reputation through consistent quality control, engineering innovation and performance testing. The ST-ROCKET range specifically has proven itself in competitive environments and recreational driving alike, earning the trust of serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliable products that deliver measurable performance improvements.
