Technical Performance
The FTX Apache 2.0 Rear Upper Turnbuckles & Ball Cups are precision-engineered suspension components manufactured to the highest standards FTX applies across their entire range of RC vehicles. These components play a vital role in the overall suspension system of the 1/10 scale Apache 2.0 brushless trophy truck, which is known for its impressive off-road capability and excellent handling characteristics. The turnbuckles feature adjustable length mechanisms that allow experienced builders and tuners to precisely set suspension arm angles and ride height, which directly influences handling response, weight distribution, and traction characteristics. The ball cups are crafted from quality materials designed to withstand the repeated articulation and stress cycles that occur during aggressive off-road driving. The smooth operation of these ball cup connections is essential for transmitting suspension movement efficiently and maintaining consistent handling feel. Whether you're competing in organised RC racing events or enjoying casual weekend bashing with your trophy truck, maintaining these suspension components in excellent condition ensures your Apache 2.0 delivers the responsive handling and stable platform it's engineered to provide. - What is the purpose of suspension turnbuckles on an RC trophy truck? — Turnbuckles allow you to adjust the length of your suspension arms, which controls your vehicle's ride height, suspension geometry angles, and handling characteristics. By adjusting turnbuckle tension and length, you can fine-tune how your truck responds to terrain, how weight transfers during cornering, and how effectively your suspension absorbs impacts and maintains traction.
- How often should I replace my RC suspension turnbuckles and ball cups? — The lifespan of these components depends on usage intensity and maintenance practices. High-impact driving, aggressive bashing, and regular racing will wear these parts faster than casual recreational use. Many RC enthusiasts keep spare turnbuckles and ball cups on hand for immediate replacement when needed, ensuring their vehicle stays race-ready and performance-optimised.
- Can I use these parts to upgrade my Apache 2.0 suspension setup? — Yes, you can use genuine FTX components to upgrade and maintain your Apache 2.0. These rear upper turnbuckles and ball cups can be used as replacement parts when your original components wear out, or as part of a comprehensive suspension upgrade to restore your vehicle to factory-new condition and performance standards.
- What tools do I need to install these turnbuckles and ball cups? — Installation typically requires basic RC tools including hex keys, screwdrivers, and possibly a multi-tool or pliers for securing components. Your FTX Apache 2.0 manual contains detailed assembly instructions. If you're new to RC maintenance, the experienced team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance and advice on proper installation techniques.
