Technical Performance
The front CVA driveshaft represents a key component within the FTX Outback 3's drivetrain architecture. As part of the suspension and drive system, this component must manage the constant power delivery from the motor whilst accommodating the significant articulation and flex demanded by modern trail crawling. The CVA joint technology built into this driveshaft allows it to maintain a constant velocity ratio even when the suspension compresses or extends, or when the wheels turn at extreme angles during challenging off-road navigation. This engineering is essential for the Outback 3's reputation as a capable trail crawler. The driveshaft is manufactured to precise tolerances using materials selected for strength and durability, ensuring that whether you're tackling rocky terrain, climbing steep inclines, or navigating through technical obstacles, the front CVA driveshaft maintains consistent power delivery to the wheels. FTX has designed this component to work harmoniously with the Outback 3's suspension system, allowing full range of motion whilst minimising power loss and vibration. For owners pushing their crawlers to the limit, or simply maintaining their vehicles in peak condition, this OEM-specification front CVA driveshaft is the correct choice for reliability and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this driveshaft compatible with my FTX Outback 3 trail crawler? — Yes, this front CVA driveshaft (FTX10022) is manufactured as an OEM spare part and is fully compatible with all variants of the FTX Outback 3.0 RTR trail crawler, including both Paso and Treka models in all colour options. You can check the part number on your crawler's documentation to confirm compatibility.
- When should I replace my front CVA driveshaft? — You should consider replacing your front CVA driveshaft if you notice vibration during driving, a clicking or grinding noise from the front end, reduced power transfer to the wheels, or visible damage such as cracks or bending. Regular inspection of your drivetrain components is recommended, especially if you drive on rough terrain frequently.
- Is this a genuine OEM part from FTX? — Yes, this is an official FTX manufacturer component (part number FTX10022) supplied through authorised retailers. Choosing genuine OEM parts ensures you receive components engineered to exact specifications for your vehicle, rather than potentially inferior third-party alternatives.
- How difficult is it to install this driveshaft? — Installation of the front CVA driveshaft requires basic mechanical knowledge and access to RC maintenance tools. If you're comfortable performing routine maintenance on your RC crawler, such as adjusting suspension or replacing tyres, you should be able to install this component. However, if you're new to RC maintenance, you may wish to seek advice from experienced RC enthusiasts or your local hobby shop.
- What is the difference between a CVA driveshaft and a standard driveshaft? — CVA (Constant Velocity Axle) technology maintains even power delivery to the wheels across a wide range of angles, which is essential for trail crawling where suspension articulation and extreme steering angles are constant. This design reduces vibration and power loss compared to standard driveshaft designs.
- Can I use this rear driveshaft on the rear of my crawler? — No, this is specifically a front CVA driveshaft for the FTX Outback 3. Whilst the Outback 3 drivetrain may have different specifications for front and rear, you should always use the correct component for each position to ensure optimal performance and durability.
