Technical Performance

Bearings are the unsung heroes of RC vehicle performance, and understanding their role is essential for anyone serious about maintaining their models. The Fastrax 10mm x 19mm x 5mm bearing is manufactured to precision tolerances that ensure smooth rotation with minimal friction, directly contributing to efficiency, responsiveness and overall performance longevity. The specific dimensions of 10mm bore, 19mm outer diameter and 5mm width indicate this is a standard size bearing used in numerous RC applications, from independent suspension setups to motor shafts and differential cases. Quality bearings like this one reduce drag on moving components, which translates to better handling characteristics, improved battery efficiency, and longer runtimes on a single charge. For bashers and racers alike, smooth-running bearings are the difference between a tight, responsive machine and one that feels sluggish or uncontrolled. When bearings wear out, they develop play and increase friction, which degradates handling and can lead to accelerated wear on other components. This is why maintaining a stock of genuine replacement bearings is smart RC car ownership. Fastrax's engineering expertise ensures this bearing will perform reliably across multiple uses and sessions, whether you're tackling technical rock crawling, high-speed off-road racing, or general recreational driving. The bearing's robust construction means it can withstand the demands of modern RC hobby use whilst maintaining the precision fit required for optimal performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What RC vehicles use 10mm x 19mm x 5mm bearings? — This bearing size is utilised across a wide range of RC platforms including crawlers, buggies, rock crawlers, and general off-road models. The specific application depends on your particular vehicle's design and component layout. If you're unsure whether this bearing fits your model, we recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting us for compatibility advice.
  • How often should I replace bearings on my RC car? — Bearing lifespan depends on usage intensity, maintenance and driving conditions. Regular bashers and racers should inspect bearings every 5-10 hours of running time and replace any that show play, roughness, or resistance. Proper maintenance including occasional cleaning and inspection will extend bearing life significantly.
  • Are Fastrax bearings genuine OEM quality? — Yes, Fastrax is a recognised manufacturer of RC components and spare parts, and the FTBB24 represents genuine quality engineering. Using genuine parts ensures proper fitment, performance and compatibility with your RC vehicle.
  • How many bearings do I need to replace at once? — Most RC vehicles use multiple bearings in various locations. If you're experiencing handling issues, it's often best practice to replace all bearings as a set during maintenance, even if only one appears worn. This ensures consistent performance throughout your vehicle.
  • Can I use aftermarket bearings instead of Fastrax? — Whilst compatible aftermarket options exist, genuine Fastrax bearings guarantee proper specifications and quality control. For the modest cost of genuine bearings, the peace of mind and performance consistency is well worth the investment.
  • Where can I fit this bearing on my RC model? — Depending on your specific vehicle design, this bearing size is commonly used in suspension components, drivetrain assemblies, and steering mechanisms. Consult your vehicle's manual for exact bearing locations and installation procedures.
