Overview
The FlySky FS-CTM01 Temperature Module is a compact and sophisticated sensor designed for RC hobbyists in the UK who demand precision monitoring of their models. Whether you're running a high-performance RC car, truck, boat, or aircraft, maintaining optimal operating temperatures is crucial for longevity and reliability. This temperature sensor integrates seamlessly with FlySky radio systems, particularly the popular i6X transmitter and iA6B receiver, making it an essential accessory for serious RC enthusiasts who want real-time telemetry data at their fingertips.
Temperature monitoring in RC models has never been more important. Whether you're tracking motor heat during competitive racing, monitoring ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) temperatures during extended bashings, or ensuring your LiPo battery pack stays within safe operating limits, the FS-CTM01 delivers accurate, reliable readings that help you protect your investment and maximise performance. This small but mighty module weighs just 5.9 grams and measures only 31 × 15 × 8.5 mm, making it simple to install in virtually any RC setup without adding unnecessary weight or bulk.
For anyone serious about RC car UK performance, this telemetry module represents a significant upgrade to your hobby experience. The ability to monitor temperatures in real-time means you can make informed decisions about race strategy, battery management, and component maintenance. RC Model Shop stocks the FS-CTM01 as part of our comprehensive range of FlySky accessories, because we understand that successful RC racing and bashing requires not just powerful equipment, but also the data to optimise that equipment.

Technical Performance
The FS-CTM01 represents FlySky's commitment to delivering professional telemetry solutions for the RC hobbyist market. Built with precision sensing technology, this temperature module provides accurate readings across an exceptionally wide range—from the sub-zero temperatures that might occur during outdoor winter sessions right through to the extreme heat generated by high-performance brushless motors pushing thousands of watts of power. The sensor's engineering is designed around reliability, with robust construction that withstands the vibrations, impacts, and environmental stresses inherent to RC use. The 4.0–8.4V operating voltage range ensures compatibility with virtually any modern FlySky receiver system, whether you're running a single 2S LiPo pack or a multi-cell configuration. The module's compact dimensions (31 × 15 × 8.5 mm) and minimal weight (5.9 g) mean it can be mounted in engine bays, tucked alongside motor housings, mounted near battery packs, or positioned anywhere else critical heat monitoring is needed, without creating balance or aerodynamic problems. The i-BUS (sens) data port connection is the industry-standard telemetry interface for FlySky systems, meaning this module integrates as naturally into your setup as any original FlySky accessory. Operating reliably between 0°C and +60°C with humidity tolerance of 20–95%, the FS-CTM01 is thoroughly suited to UK hobby environments, from summer racing events to winter muddy field sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the FlySky FS-CTM01 temperature module compatible with my FlySky radio and receiver? — The FS-CTM01 is designed specifically for compatibility with FlySky systems that feature i-BUS (sens) port connectivity, including the popular i6X transmitter and iA6B receiver. Before purchasing, verify that your receiver has the dedicated i-BUS (sens) port, as this is the connection point for the temperature module. If you're unsure whether your system supports this port, please contact our team at RC Model Shop and we'll help you confirm compatibility before you buy.
- What temperature range does this sensor actually measure? — The FS-CTM01 measures temperatures from ?40°C to +250°C, which covers virtually all realistic RC applications. You can monitor everything from ambient cold-weather conditions right through to peak motor and ESC heat during maximum-power runs. The module itself operates safely between 0°C and +60°C ambient temperature, which is the environmental range within which the sensor maintains accuracy and reliability.
- How does real-time temperature monitoring improve my RC experience? — Real-time telemetry transforms how you approach RC racing and bashing. Instead of wondering whether your motor or ESC is running too hot, you have immediate, accurate data displayed on your i6X transmitter screen. This allows you to adjust driving style, take cooling breaks, or modify setup parameters before heat damage occurs. Competitive RC racers use temperature monitoring to optimise performance and maintain equipment reliability throughout long race days, whilst bashers use it to protect expensive brushless motors and electronic controllers from thermal stress.
- What voltage does the temperature module require, and will it work with my current setup? — The FS-CTM01 operates from 4.0V to 8.4V, which covers a very broad range of power configurations. Whether you're running a single 2S LiPo battery pack (7.4V nominal) or a 3S system (11.1V nominal) with a separate receiver pack, you'll find that the module's voltage range accommodates your setup. The module draws minimal current, so it adds negligible power demand to your system—you won't see any reduction in flight or run time because of this telemetry sensor.
- Where should I mount the temperature sensor in my RC model? — Placement depends on what you want to monitor. For motor temperature, mount it in the motor bay, close to the motor can or windings. For ESC monitoring, secure it near the ESC heatsink. For battery temperature, position it against or near your LiPo pack. The tiny size (31 × 15 × 8.5 mm) and light weight (5.9 g) mean you can mount it almost anywhere without affecting performance or balance. Use thin double-sided foam tape or secure it with cable ties to keep it in place during rough bashing or racing.
- Is this suitable for beginners, or do I need advanced RC knowledge to use it? — The FS-CTM01 is straightforward to use once installed and paired with your i6X radio system. Installation is simply connecting the cable to the i-BUS (sens) port on your receiver—no soldering or complicated wiring required. Once connected, temperature readings appear automatically on your transmitter display. Beginners benefit greatly from having this data available, as it helps prevent heat-related damage to expensive components. If you're new to telemetry systems or need advice on installation, our experienced team at RC Model Shop is here to help.
- How accurate is the temperature reading? — FlySky's FS-CTM01 delivers professional-grade accuracy suitable for serious RC applications. The sensor uses quality components and proven design to provide reliable readings across its entire ?40°C to +250°C measurement range. Accuracy is maintained across normal operating conditions (0°C to +60°C ambient, 20–95% humidity), which covers all typical UK RC hobby scenarios. For competitive racing applications or technical troubleshooting, this accuracy is more than sufficient.
- Can I use multiple temperature sensors on one receiver? — FlySky receivers vary in how many i-BUS (sens) port connections they support. The iA6B receiver is compatible with the FS-CTM01, but check your specific receiver documentation to see if additional sensors can be added. Some advanced FlySky systems support multiple telemetry sensors simultaneously, allowing you to monitor motor temperature, ESC temperature, and battery temperature all at once. Contact RC Model Shop if you need clarification on your specific receiver's capabilities.
