Overview

The FlySky FS-CPD01 Telemetry Module (Mag) is a sophisticated magnetic induction speed sensor designed to bring real-time RPM monitoring to your RC model. Whether you're running an RC car, helicopter, or any rotational device in the UK, this compact telemetry solution connects seamlessly to compatible FlySky systems via the i-BUS/(SENS) port. This module transforms your RC experience by providing instant, accurate speed data directly to your i6X radio and iA6B receiver, enabling you to monitor motor performance and optimise your flying or driving sessions with precision.

For RC enthusiasts who demand more from their setups, the FS-CPD01 offers an efficient way to add professional-grade telemetry data without the complexity of larger systems. Its small footprint and lightweight construction make it ideal for installation in confined spaces, whether you're upgrading a ready-to-run model or integrating it into a custom build. The module operates across a wide 4.0–8.4V power range, making it compatible with most standard RC battery configurations used throughout the UK RC community.

This magnetic induction speed sensor is built for reliability and ease of use. RC hobbyists across the UK—from weekend bashers to dedicated competitors—will appreciate how the FS-CPD01 streamlines performance monitoring, eliminating guesswork and providing concrete data about motor efficiency and speed consistency during flight or track sessions.

Key Features

  • Magnetic Induction Speed Sensor Technology — The FS-CPD01 uses non-contact magnetic sensing to measure rotational speed, which means no mechanical friction or wear on the sensor itself, ensuring long-term durability and consistent accuracy throughout your RC sessions.
  • Impressive Speed Range of 0 to 60,000 RPM — This wide measurement range accommodates everything from slow, controlled brushless motors to high-performance racing setups, making the module suitable for virtually any RC application where RPM monitoring matters.
  • i-BUS/(SENS) Connectivity — The FS-CPD01 connects directly to your FlySky receiver via the standardised i-BUS/(SENS) data port, allowing seamless integration with your existing FlySky i6X radio and iA6B receiver without additional adapters or modifications.
  • Wide Operating Voltage Range of 4.0–8.4V — This flexible power specification ensures the sensor works reliably with 1S, 2S, and 3S LiPo batteries, as well as NiMH packs commonly used in RC models throughout the UK.
  • Compact and Lightweight Design — Measuring just 31 × 15 × 8.5 mm and weighing only 6.6 grams, the FS-CPD01 is small enough to fit in tight spaces without adding noticeable weight to your RC model, preserving performance and handling characteristics.
  • Robust Environmental Operating Range — With a temperature range of 0 to +60°C and humidity tolerance of 20–95%, the module remains functional in diverse weather conditions, from cool winter sessions to hot summer flying or driving in the UK.
  • Real-Time Telemetry Data Transmission — Once installed and configured, the FS-CPD01 continuously transmits RPM information to your i6X radio display, giving you live performance feedback during operation so you can adjust throttle, monitor for issues, and optimise your model's performance.
  • Plug-and-Play Installation — With straightforward i-BUS/(SENS) connectivity, the module requires no complex wiring or soldering—simply connect it to your receiver and configure it through your FlySky radio menu for immediate data feedback.

Technical Performance

The FS-CPD01 represents solid engineering in the telemetry sensor space. Its magnetic induction design eliminates the mechanical wear associated with contact-based speed sensors, providing years of reliable operation without maintenance. The sensor's ability to measure up to 60,000 RPM makes it suitable for everything from standard brushless motor setups in entry-level RC cars to high-performance racing configurations. The wide 4.0–8.4V operating voltage range demonstrates thoughtful design—this covers the typical discharge voltage curve of 1S, 2S, and 3S LiPo batteries as well as NiMH alternatives, giving RC enthusiasts in the UK flexibility in their power system choices. The module's compact 31 × 15 × 8.5 mm dimensions and featherweight 6.6-gram construction make it an ideal choice for weight-sensitive applications where every gram matters, such as racing drones, lightweight buggies, and scale model helicopters. Built to withstand the British climate, the module's temperature range of 0 to +60°C and humidity tolerance of 20–95% mean it performs reliably whether you're flying in winter or during summer heat waves. The i-BUS/(SENS) connection is the FlySky standard for telemetry sensors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of FlySky receivers and transmitters available to UK hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the FS-CPD01 telemetry module used for in RC models? — The FS-CPD01 is a magnetic induction speed sensor that measures and transmits real-time RPM data to your FlySky i6X radio and iA6B receiver. This allows you to monitor your motor's rotational speed during operation, helping you verify performance, detect issues, and optimise throttle curves for better flying or driving experience.
  • Is the FS-CPD01 compatible with my RC setup? — The FS-CPD01 is specifically designed to work with FlySky i6X radios and iA6B receivers via the i-BUS/(SENS) data port. Before purchasing, please verify that your transmitter and receiver have this compatibility. If you're uncertain, contact our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop on 01543 577278 and we'll help you confirm compatibility with your specific setup.
  • What power supply does this telemetry module require? — The FS-CPD01 operates from 4.0 to 8.4V, which covers standard 1S, 2S, and 3S LiPo batteries as well as NiMH battery packs commonly used in RC models. It draws power directly from the receiver's power supply, so no separate battery is required—it simply connects to your existing receiver wiring.
  • Can the FS-CPD01 be used in different types of RC models? — Yes, the magnetic induction speed sensor is suitable for any RC application where rotational speed monitoring is desired. This includes RC cars, buggies, trucks, helicopters, drones, and any other model with a rotating component you wish to monitor. The 0–60,000 RPM range accommodates everything from slow-speed crawlers to high-performance racing setups.
  • How accurate is the RPM measurement? — The magnetic induction technology provides reliable, non-contact speed measurement without mechanical wear. As long as your motor or rotor has magnetic properties, the sensor delivers consistent and accurate RPM readings throughout the operating range of 0 to 60,000 RPM.
  • Is this suitable for beginners in RC? — Yes, the FS-CPD01 is user-friendly for anyone with a compatible FlySky receiver. Installation is straightforward—simply connect it via the i-BUS/(SENS) port and configure it through your radio menu. Even beginners will quickly learn to read and interpret the real-time RPM data to improve their RC experience.
  • What is the difference between this magnetic induction sensor and other speed sensors? — The FS-CPD01 uses non-contact magnetic induction, meaning there's no physical friction between the sensor and the rotating component. This eliminates wear over time, requires no maintenance, and provides reliable long-term performance, unlike older contact-based speed sensors that can degrade with use.
